This is book six in Desiree Holt’s collection of short stories about eight shape shifters who tragically lost their entire pack. Together they have formed a protection and investigation agency called The Sentinels. Silent Hunters is about Damien and Lauren’s explosive meeting. They may have been thrown together by violence, but within each other they find completeness.

Personally I can’t do justice to Ms. Holt’s description of Damien Moreno. Her description of him just jumps off the page and, trust me, you hope he lands right in your bed.

There’s a whole lot of action is this tiny package! Silent Hunters is a fast paced, hold on tight ride. Ms. Holt doesn’t mess around and dives head first right into the situation. She writes thrilling and heartfelt love scenes that make you weep with joy and green with envy. Her alpha men are top notch and always aim to please. Her heroines are quick witted and amazing women. Although the British vernacular took some getting used to and there was an injury that seemed to have a minor continuity problem, both issues seemed insignificant and easy to overlook. Silent Hunter is a first-rate addition to The Sentinels.

I liked the unique career for this character and I think it really matched her personality. She seemed to want independence and to forget about Will and Damon but who could say no to these two gorgeous men? They come across as not only wanting her for the physical part of a relationship but emotional too.

The sex is frequent and very hot which seemed fitting considering the careers of all three characters. Will she give them what they want? Hopefully!

There’s added mystery, too, regarding how the fire got started and who the culprit is which is great. The dialogue is sharp and pacing fast so it’s a speedy read. I liked the ending. I won’t give it away but let’s just say you won’t be disappointed for any of these characters.

If you’re looking to round out the summer with a hot ménage story definitely give this one a try.

They say that laughter helps to relieves stress and I think it may be true as I sure felt light and stress free when I was finished with this tale. Definitely unique and humorous, and was worth every arched eyebrow my hubby sent my way while reading.

I would urge those readers to give this one a chance though as it’s pretty mild and a light hearted take on the subject. She seamlessly incorporated the characters’ points of view and I actually felt their pain and love along the way. I felt the realism of the interactions between the characters. Their journey to fulfillment was touching and moving. Ms. Brookes wrote an incredible story and I look forward to her other books.
