Set in the late 1800s, Samuel’s Promise describes the love story of Samuel and Nancy Ruggles who were forced together by faith and the desire to serve God overseas in Hawaii. Samuel’s friend Henry Opukaha’ia, a native Hawaiian, dies before he can lead the missionaries to his homeland, Samuel promises him on his deathbed he will indeed return to Hawaii to fulfill his friend’s dying wish. Samuel has one problem—he’s not married and the company will only accept couples to the group. Nancy Wells works in the office of the Foreign Mission School and she too believes God is calling her to serve overseas, but after her true love was killed years earlier, Nancy closed her heart to everyone but God, and learns she too must find a husband quickly if her dream is to become reality.

Nancy is stuck in the past. For the last ten years, she’s mourned her dead love, Thomas, and refused to move on. Now God’s going to give her a kick in the rear, throwing her in the path of Samuel Ruggles. Both are unmarried, both feel the call as missionaries, and both will need to marry someone by the end of the week if they want to go on the mission trip to the Sandwich Islands.

Both Nancy and Samuel are well portrayed. I felt Nancy’s humiliation when she overhears a conversation between Samuel and Lucy Thurston, who, with her husband, runs a mission school. Samuel puts his foot right in his mouth, telling Mrs. Thurston he’s not interested in marrying Nancy, even to secure a place with the mission. Migraine, nasal blockage, dyspepsia are a portion of the more effective ones are buy sildenafil but there are some alternatives like horny goat weed, maca or safed musli. levitra is a tablet that consists of an active ingredient called Sildenafil. Poor Nancy. Every time the author described Nancy’s stringy brown hair, I wanted to haul her off to CVS and buy her a large bottle of volumizing shampoo. But, alas, no CVS in the late 1800’s, and, after a little prompting from God in the form of a dream about the two of them, Samuel decides Nancy is the woman for him. Yes, I did enjoy seeing Samuel squirm as he tries to convince Nancy he really does want to marry her.

This is at bottom a straightforward story of the beginning of a marriage and a sea voyage, without many twists and turns. In spite of this, the author managed to hold my interest throughout. I worried, reading about poor Samuel’s chest congestion, that he had consumption – in which case his goose would have been cooked – but, fortunately, it turned out to be what I’m guessing was a bad case of pneumonia (the author never specifies), and Nancy spends most of the sea voyage nursing Samuel back to health.

I did find the missionary aspects of this novel disturbing, as I believe very strongly in not imposing my own cultural prejudices on others, and that is exactly what I see the missionaries do with the islanders when they make them clothing. However, putting aside my disparaging views of missionaries in general, in this case the author has done a good job in showing that the islanders, or specifically Hewahewa, are looking to be saved.

I was not, I admit, paying attention in Social Studies, and thus the information that the author manages to drop into the novel about the Sandwich Islanders and the visions of their spiritual leader, Hewahewa interesting enough to encourage me to look for a book about the history of the islands. There’s just enough here to move the novel forward and tantalize the reader. Library, here I come.

If you like historical romance and want a satisfying, inspirational story, don’t miss this well written, well plotted novel. You won’t be disappointed.

Ron Granger never expected his twenty-fifth high school reunion to bring his heart’s desire one step closer to reality. But when Jane Hunter shows up unexpectedly—in a hot red leather dress, no less—Ron wonders if he’ll finally get a second chance to tell her how he feels.

Local TV reporter Jane Hunter never wanted to attend another Summerville High School reunion—not after the explosive split with her ex-husband twenty years ago. But the opportunity to defuse his mean-spirited campaign to smear her is too enticing to miss. Unrequited love, resentment, and vengeance create a steamy mix—will the lives of these three estranged friends ever be the same?

Jane Hunter has been the object of Ron Granger’s affection since their high school days when both were considered nerdy and shy. Of course Ron couldn’t tell Jane how he felt because they were part of a threesome of platonic friends: studious Ron, plain Jane and jock Cliff DeWitt. When Ron finally gets the courage to tell Jane how he feels, she’s confiding her feelings for Cliff to him. The Class of ’85 graduates, Jane and Cliff marry, and Ron goes on to academia, marrying and later, divorcing.

Jane divorces Cliff after a few years and goes on to make a name for herself as an investigative television reporter. Class reunions roll by: ten years, fifteen, twenty. Ron attends, always hoping to run into Jane again.

Jane joins them, and after a bit of acrimony between the ex-partners, she suggests a truce: leave the past behind and move on with their lives. But can they?

It’s difficult to show a lot of character depth in a story of only forty-four pages, but author Bostrom has done a fantastic job of creating empathetic characters in the persons of Ron and Jane. Choosing to tell this story from Ron’s point of view was a good move by Bostrom, because Ron is the character with the most to lose, and his feelings toward Jane are what makes him the perfect hero.

Red Leather Reunion provides an intriguing glimpse into the lives of classmates after a quarter-century hiatus and mirrors the realities in readers’ lives. I cheered for Ron and Jane and was not disappointed. Brava Ms. Bostrom.

Almost a century ago, Angela Lavigne and Alpha werewolf Knox had a shared passion neither could control. Then Angela was turned into a vampire and disappeared.

The last thing Knox expects is for Angela to show up on his doorstep on a rescue mission, as sexy and irresistible as ever. And he can sense how much she still wants him, too. She’s gone against both their species’ rules and trespassed on his land. By law he can keep her as long as he wants–and Knox doesn’t intend to let her go ever again.

As their desire explodes once again, Knox is more sure than ever that he must claim her forever. But as vampire and werewolf, they are natural born enemies. Can she truly be his destined mate?

‘Twilight’ has it wrong. Apparently, werewolves metabolisms aren’t as fast as we were led to believe because Angela, our leading lady, manages to drop them, quite skillfully I might add, with tranquilizers as she breaks into their compound to rescue her friend. Despite that, she still manages to get herself caught and finds herself right back in the arms of the love of her life (who she has been hiding from for 90 years). The only problem? He is a werewolf, the leader of the largest pack of werewolves in North America, and she is a vampire. Talk about racial differences.

This book drops you right smack in the middle of some fast action and then proceeds to run you right into some hot, steamy sex scenes. And if that wasn’t enough, you get thrown right back into some action. This author keeps it coming non-stop and, at only sixty-one pages, I had the story finished before my heartbeat slowed back down. What are digestive enzyme supplements? When Angela was turned into a vampire she disappeared from Knox’s life before he could realize what she had become. Since he harbored a personal hate for vampires, Angela was afraid he wouldn’t accept her for what she was. Now, nearly a century later, the two come face to face again and must confront their feelings. With the history between the two main characters, the action and the romance are both believable and very fast paced, and kept me involved in the story from the very beginning. Angela’s reticence is also realistic. She’s spent ninety years believing one thing, only to be told and expected to believe without a doubt, something else in a very short time span.

With such a short story, we don’t get much more than a glimpse of other characters in the plot, but the main characters are very well drawn and intriguing enough that they hold your attention. Knox is a sexy, dominant man who is determined to win back the only woman he ever considered making his mate, and Angela is a cautious but intelligent and willful woman. She is willing to let Knox have the upper hand, but only if it suits her.

From the beginning you can tell how strongly these two felt about each other back when they were in a relationship, and ninety years later it’s just as obvious that their feelings haven’t changed. Those feelings have also never been dealt with by either of them. The author manages to convey all of this very skillfully, without drowning us in back story.

Destined Mate flows so smoothly that I was turning the last page before I even realized that I was at the end. With the vampire/werewolf politics, the hint of the possibility of war brewing on the horizon, the passionate exchanges between Knox and Angela and the non-stop action (whether romantic, political or physical), this book kept me hooked and made me a fan of this author and this series. More please.

A lost child herself, Syrene cares about the missing boy even though Dylan’s personality is nothing short of rude. But Syrene refuses to unleash her dangerous siren’s voice, even for a man who is impossible to deny…

This story really took me out of my element and made me experience things I have never encountered before as a reader. I say this because I usually read erotic romance and the slow, smooth burning love you in this sensual love story was new territory. I never knew how enjoyable reading a true romance novel could be until now.

Oz does not have anything in particular that normally would attract me to a hero (I’m a big fan of super alpha men), yet I still found myself mesmerized by his character. I am not sure if it is his refusal to take no for an answer or that he is a devoted father willing to do whatever it takes to get his son back, but Oz wormed his way into my heart. Most of us have known at least one person whom we did not find attractive at first but the more you learn about them to more attractive they seem, until eventually, you just cannot help but want them and that is exactly what Oz did to Syrene and me.

This need for privacy is further exacerbated when Oz shows up and destroys the little bit of a normal life she has created for herself. As an introvert, myself I can completely understand why Syrene would want to have her privacy honored and not be in the spotlight. I do not envy her situation one bit, but I knew she would do what was best for everyone even if it meant having to feel uncomfortable for a while.

The relationship between Oz and Syrene is a slow burn, which made it that much more infectious and enchanting. If nothing else keeps the pages turning the love / hate relationship of these characters will. Despite their appearance of being complete oppposites, the was an attraction between them that ensured a happy ever after, especially with the support of the other characters. Wanted by the Gestapo, Rebecca Bloomberg is on the run for her life. Sheltering in the home of a reporter who writes absurd lies for a Nazi propaganda newspaper is hardly an ideal solution. Irresistibly drawn to the man, she dares not trust him, until she discovers his journalist position is a mask for involvement in an anti-Nazi resistance ring.

Gustav Von Furst has done all he can to perfect his mask. Neither his family nor his close friends know the truth. Hiding a Jewish girl is the most foolish risk, yet there is something about her that makes him want to protect her.

Eager to forget the outside world, Rebecca and Gustav are caught up in a private world of forbidden passion—until unexpected danger lands on their doorstep and they’re faced with a decision that will change everything. Will love demand a sacrifice too great to give?

This poignant love story, set in one of the most troubled times of modern of history, is not only about unswerving love, but also about the psychological subjugation of a people to the point that they are willing to commit genocide. The atrocities of mob-mentality sparked by Hitler create a setting for this historical romance.

Rebecca Bloomberg, the pretty, intelligent, outgoing daughter of a Jewish banker, lives a life of privilege until Nazism creeps in taking away her family, friends, money, home and everything until she is alone, vulnerable and despised as one of what Hitler labeled an inferior race of people. She is fair game to be raped and defiled if caught out on the streets. To keep from starving, she ventures into the street, is attacked, but wakes up in a nice, comfortable German home. She is conflicted but grateful to be alive.

Gustavo von Furst, the man Rebecca labeled a gorgeous blond giant the first time she saw him, wears a swastika and greets others with “Heil Hitler”. He leads a double mysterious life that is fraught with danger. Awareness is absolute, consciousness is relative to its content; unica-web.com viagra 100 mg consciousness is always of something. Rebecca’s sojourn with Gustav and his grandmother creates a story that transports and grips one’s emotions in most unusual ways. What is morally right and what is lawfully right becomes a big issue–just how much is one willing to risk to save another person. Rebecca, who feels guilty for what she is putting her rescuers through, feels like she is in a “Beautiful Cage” because showing herself even at a window could bring torture and death to them all—but she craves the sun, fresh air, freedom.

The double agents, unsure alliances and clandestine doings keep the reader’s heart rate at top speed much of the time. Many of the secondary characters like those who frequent Martin’s Bar and the secretive Dietrich keep the reader guessing. However, the most compelling of the secondary characters are those in the back stories within the main story. They add depth, intrigue, and heartbreaking details. The true history woven into the story makes it seem real.

Alyson Reuben’s compelling, beautiful, heartfelt writing style brings to life a time in history that changed the world while she weaves in an incredible, forever love story of a disenfranchised Jewish girl and her gorgeous blond giant. Their love disregards ethnic borders and wins against tremendous odds to bring them to their happy-ever-after (with a special bonus) far from the misery they had endured.

A BEAUTIFUL CAGE is a memorable story.

Dangerous, desperate, and armed, he promises Honor that she and her daughter won’t be hurt as long as she does everything he asks. She has no choice but to accept him at his word.

But Honor soon discovers that even those close to her can’t be trusted. Coburn claims that her beloved late husband possessed something extremely valuable that places Honor and her daughter in grave danger. Coburn is there to retrieve it — at any cost. From FBI offices in Washington, D.C., to a rundown shrimp boat in coastal Louisiana, Coburn and Honor run for their lives from the very people sworn to protect them, and unravel a web of corruption and depravity that threatens not only them, but the fabric of our society.

Sandra Brown excels in ratcheting up the tension and keeping it high in her books, and Lethal is no exception. When friends are traitors and the bad guy isn’t … when you don’t know who to trust, or where to turn… when everyone is armed and dangerous, then the book is a page turner.

The book starts with a bang and never lets up. I thought I knew who the bad guys were and who the good guys were and I was constantly being surprised. It’s full of action and suspense and a couple of mysteries that are nearly impossible for me (or the characters) to figure out.

The romance is secondary to the suspense, and while it’s there – the emotional and the physical – it’s definitely on the back burner. Still, even though I have a preference for a stronger romance, Ms. Brown’s skill kept me hooked and I had to know how the book ended. I was completely entertained.

If you like more suspense than romance in your romantic suspense, I heartily recommend this book. While it may not have thoroughly satisfied the romantic in me, the thriller lover in me was absolutely enthralled.

I really liked Carrie in this story because, even though she puts up a tough front, I saw her as loving individual who sacrificed her own feelings in order to protect those people who were important to her. Mark, the hero of this tale, is one of those guys that you can’t help but fall a little in love with, even though he has made some dumb choices over the years, you know he truly loves Carrie and he has finally grown up and figured it out.

Ms. Wilde’s writing is superb. Considering the length of this novella, she managed to tell a wonderful love story and was able to bring back some of the hilarious characters from previous Twilight series. The plot was well laid out and kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen next. Both the heroine and hero were well developed characters with great chemistry. Wilde’s dialogue as always was believable, humorous and emotional. The absolute best part of this story was the ending, so very romantic and touching that it brought a tear to my eye.

Pick up the perfect holiday read, Lori Wilde’s The Christmas Cookies Chronicles: Carrie, and curl up in front of the fireplace with some hot cocoa and spend an afternoon in Twilight, you’ll be glad you did! For those of you who have never read one of Lori Wilde’s books from her Twilight, Texas series you are in for a treat, if you have, this fun holiday read will reacquaint you with some old characters and introduce you to a few new ones you will fall in love with.

Sophie’s doctoral thesis stated magic was a psychosomatic phenomenon. Few took her seriously–she had a family reputation for strangeness and pointed ears to live down. In her research, she ran into Kevyn at a science fiction convention. When strange things happened, she slowly realized that she wasn’t going insane–magic was real.

Kevyn was a Fae trying to avoid family traditions. He lived on the run in the Human realms, making his living as a day actor, staying under the radar. On an acting gig at a convention, he met up with Sophie and realized that she could not only see through his magic, she had magic. When Hunters showed up to drag Kevyn home and make him become an Advocate, he let Sophie capture him and take him home for research, thereby rescuing him from a fate worse than death — respectability and responsibility. Somewhere along the way, the lines between researcher and lab rat became blurred, then switched places, and the two of them discovered a magic of their own, and rescued each other.

She blinded me with Science, part of the ‘All’s Fae in Love and Chocolate Series’, by Michelle L. Levigne is a fun and fast-paced romp through a contemporary setting faintly affected by fairy-land. Fluff though it sounds, the challenge–and the emotions–are all too real.

Sophie Hunter sets out to prove, logically of course, why the belief in magic is psychosomatic. The effects and impacts of belief actually make things happen. This idea is central to her thesis. He reprised his role of Jack Sparrow in the Pirates sequels, Dead Man’s Chest (2006), At World’s End (2007) viagra without prescriptions uk and On Stranger Tides (2011). viagra samples no prescription Reveal the cause of all diseases and let you enjoy life easily. Not everyone will agree with her. If some people can’t take her seriously just because of her pointy ears, that’s hardly her fault! If her thesis can gain her approval, she just might get a grant.

Kevyn, on the other hand, not only believes in magic but shamelessly uses it. He avoids the magical realm though, enamored as he is with Hollywood: right up until he’s caught by Sophie. If there is one thing her thesis lacks, it’s proof: and here he is. So, what’s a little kidnapping among friends? She does supply him with plenty of donuts…but what neither of them can predict might just harm both of them.

For background, we discover that Fae laws govern human interactions … but the interactions themselves can prove too tantalizing to resist. Ah, the magic of a diet cherry coke, never mind chocolate! This great little romance has a bit of everything, but discovering the lives of the Fae is the best. Not only can they eat a lot – ordinary tonic is enough to make them drunk!

Magic becomes something new and vastly different in Ms. Levigne’s imaginative hands: magic that is full of color, arrives in a thunderclap, and can be yanked out from someone like pulling a rug out from underneath them.

This is quick, light-hearted and full of great Sci-Fi references, and is a truly fresh, fun take on magical powers. Do read!
