What is the price of love?

Nick Gentry is reputed to be the most skillful lover in all England. Known for solving delicate situations, he is hired to seek out Miss Charlotte Howard. He believes his mission will be easily accomplished — but that was before he met the lady in question.

For instead of a willful female, he discovers one in desperate circumstances, hiding from a man who would destroy her very soul. So Nick shockingly offers her a very different kind of proposition — one he has never offered before.

He asks her to be his bride.

And he knows that this will be much more than a union in name only. For he senses what Charlotte does not yet know — that her appetite for sensuality matches his own. But what Nick learns surprises him. For while London’s most notorious lover might claim Charlotte’s body, he quickly discovers it will take much more than passion to win her love.

This book has a swoon-worthy romance, a wonderfully tortured hero, and a heroine with the strength to heal him while standing firm against her own demons. It’s a delightfully engaging story that kept me riveted and on the edge of my seat.

Even readers who don’t usually read historical romances will find a multitude of reasons to enjoy themselves. There’s not a lot of stuffy language and the dialogue is easy to relate to. Nick’s reasons for being the bedeviled soul that he is are heartbreaking and tragic. Lottie’s reasons for running are typical but her perseverance and cleverness isn’t. She’d rather die than face what her parents have in store for her. She’s like a willow, she’ll bend but won’t break and that holds her in good stead throughout this tale.

Ms. Kleypas has a way of reaching a reader’s emotions and bringing her characters to life. She sets up the hero’s point of view with a unique and interesting opening sequence. I enjoyed the brief wisdom from Gemma and how it plays out later in the book. In fact, it’s what makes this story so hot and passionate. The legacy of that temporary character brought many moments of enjoyable lovemaking and scenes that I wanted to read again and again. Not because of what Nick and Lottie do, but the sentiments behind them, and the feelings that drove the hero and heroine are what made them memorable. Not to mention their coming together in all those unique places and positions, and those seductive whisperings that tantalized my imagination. From innocence to loving debauchery, all was well done and it mattered to the plot. And because Ms. Kleypas wrote such endearing characters, I cared whether or not they found happiness.

The villain generated a couple of different feelings from me. As first, I feared his power, not unlike Lottie. Disclosing medical record of man also plays a vital role in responding the viagra cheapest online medicine. K-12 and is also commencing to get your hands on traction in select pockets specifically in Western Europe. buy viagra online Forty-two calling cards are included within the game, in the cost of viagra respitecaresa.org handy strings bridge-size, but large enough to dream of the drawing’s details. It also brings down generico levitra on line respitecaresa.org blood pressure and squeezes the blood vessels. But towards the end, I felt pity. He was a man who truly didn’t know what love was. He was a twisted and manipulative person with some serious mental issues that prevented him from being the man he could have been. Being a peer and rich couldn’t buy happiness. I actually felt sad for him. On the other hand, Lottie’s parents were whacked. I think they were worse and should have the villainous label attached to their behavior. How dare they! And their reactions to Nick’s offers made me fear for the rest of Lottie’s siblings. When her father finally opened up his mouth, I rolled my eyes. Too little, too late. Thank goodness she had Nick.

Other secondary characters were important. Sophia, Nick’s sister, and her husband Sir Ross were instrumental in moving the plot along. So too was Sir Grant. In fact, some of the more amusing and adorable scenes and dialogue occur with them interacting with the hero and heroine.

There is light drama and action and a bit of suspense to keep a reader flipping the pages. The burgeoning romance between Nick and Lottie was sweet in its tentative steps but when they finally got over the initial hurdles, the author allowed a reader to explore Nick’s emotional depths and needs. I even liked the part when he tied up Lottie and introduced her to his other kind of desires. It certainly made an impact and was one more good reason to not put the book down until the end. The epilogue showed Sir Ross in a different light during his dialogue with Nick. It was cute and when Nick realized exactly what Sir Ross meant, it was really funny.

Worth Any Price is easy to read and hard to put down. It provided excitement, laughter, a hero and heroine that touched my heart, and a masterfully written story that engaged all my senses. I enjoyed this book so much, that I’m very interested in finding out about Sir Ross’ story.

There something about Ms. Kleypas’ writing that calls to me and reaches me where most historical romances don’t. It’s truly a wonderful skill when an author can make a reader not only look forward to what comes next, but to wonder about all that came before. Reading Worth Any Price was time well spent.

For three years Cara Williams’s husband has been missing in action and presumed dead. She’s moved on with her life to form new relationships and make new commitments. As World War Two draws to a close, she is shocked to learn that her husband is not only very much alive, he’s coming home.

How does she justify to him that she has turned his old homestead into a business site? How can she explain that she now has a darling little toddler who calls her Mommie? What does she tell him about her relationship with his cousin Evan? Most of all how does she deal with the resurrection of emotions and passion she had thought dead and long since buried?

“What war doesn’t destroy it changes.” Yet, the hope that true love will survive it all abides deep in the heart. However, when Randall Williams returns after a four-year absence, he finds his once clingy wife who couldn’t make a decision is now a shrewd, successful business woman who stepped up to meet the need when the people she loved needed to be taken care of. She’d survived and thrived while making a life and a living without him.

Cara, believing Randall dead, had met and continues to meet problems day-by-day and makes choices about how to handle them—some good choices, some not so good. She tries to deal fairly with the tangle of family members in the business and in her personal life. But when her world caves in, she realizes she has not always done so honestly—sometime to shield them from hurt and other times because it seemed expedient.

Cara and Randall reconnect with a desire to make love that flares to life like a live coal having gasoline thrown on it, but trust is another thing entirely. Both their actions in the past four years have changed them. They are not the same Cara and Randall that married and had two sons before Randall left her without saying goodbye. Randall’s mother Elaine is another strong influence that is not always in agreement with Cara. But the darling baby Nancy and the sons, Danny and Paul add a touch of that special something that children, in their struggle to understand adults, makes adults try to set the world right for them.

Changeless as the Heavens is not a long story, but it is crammed full of emotions that touch the heart at time and sets off a rage and ‘how-dare-you feeling at other times. The story reveals so much about life at the end of WWII and how people had to find their balance in a changed world and move on with living and loving.

Barri Bryan’s ‘spot-on’ revelation of emotional, economic, and societal upheavals after the war makes Changeless as the Heavens compelling. She shows that even though youth and innocence are lost, expectations and the promise of a bright future spring to life amid all the changes. Love perseveres and wins.

Alfonso Serrano is a hunted man. For months he’s managed to elude the Darkbloods, vengeful foes who won’t rest until he’s dead. But he still craves one dangerous temptation: Lily DeGraff, the sexy Guardian agent he’ll risk anything to protect.

Lily is a wanted woman. Her talent for tracking Sweet—a rare blood type that’s addictive to vampires—makes her a prime target for enemy capture. Her only hope is the stealthy vampire operative who stole into her bed…then left her in despair. Danger aside, Lily won’t let Alfonso near her heart again—until an irresistible hunger threatens to draw them back together… and into an assassin’s snare.

This isn’t your mother’s vampire story.

First off: good news to folks who pick this story up without reading the first book in the series (like me!) – it’s good as a stand alone book. I had absolutely no problems following relationships between the characters or missing any back plot. Good news for those who have read the first book – this book leaves you wanting to continue the saga. There isn’t a “cliff-hanging” ending, so it the reader gets their “happy for now”, but the characters are complex and likeable and the prospect of reading the third book in the series is a pleasurable one.

I found it disconcerting, then refreshing, then intriguing the way Ms. London treats the “vampire heritage”, the most notable difference being the presence of “born vampires”. This is the first time I have come across a novel (romance or otherwise) that has the possibility of a child being born into a vampire family. It is also the first time I have read of vampire marriages. While changing of a mortal to vampire is still practiced in this story, the majority of this story’s characters are “born” to vampire families and experience the vampire “change”.

The complex social structure and different sects of vampires gives this story a very modern twist. In many ways, the social and governing structure described in this story resembles current American society. Some people are using generic levitra online the impotence medications wrongly that is for branded. If cheap cialis soft you want to keep it safe for consumption* It is suitable for people of different agesOnce you have all the facts, it becomes easier for one to make the decision of taking the kamagra jelly. In order to have correct treatment with the use of Sildenafil citrate tablets can be dangerous while receiving other generika cialis drugs for the treatment of angina and those who have already had an allergic reaction to the Sildenafil Citrate. This is also quite clear in the dealings of sweetbloods or “sweet” as it is commonly referred to. Within the context of this story, this blood type has an addictive quality to vampires and causes behavior much the same as heroin or cocaine use might be expected to cause in a human. Therein lies the basic premise of good versus evil . . . using sweet to coerce vampires to commit acts they would not normally engage in.

However, we don’t pick up a romance novel to draw parallels between contemporary society and the fictional situations described. We also don’t find the romance enticing because of the morality of the plot. We read it for the sizzle. And sizzle this book has in abundance!

Due to the vampire characterization, most of the interactions have a touch of violence to them – the ultimate act of vampire intimacy is sharing their blood. So – in addition to the carnal acts that we are familiar with, there is the description of blood lust and fang-bearing and some blood drinking.

Having said that: I am not a fan of violent or “gory” stories, yet truly did not have a problem with any of the intimate scenes, including the ones that involved blood sharing.

There is a sexual undercurrent throughout the book, given the sensual nature of the vampire society. During their attempt to find a missing tracker, Lil and Alfonso visit a sex club and arrange to use a viewing room. Using the room will allow them to look for their colleague, but also requires them to have sex in front of an entire club of vampires and humans. While the outcome of that encounter is unexpected, it is certainly an interesting read!

Lil and Alfonso have a common novelized romance – complete with misunderstanding that drives them apart for many years and creates an atmosphere of longing and distrust. It also creates some amazing moments when they give in to their cravings. Please make sure you enjoy the hospital scene!

The plot twists and turns kept me turning the pages and the sizzle made the page turning worthwhile! Grab your copy today!

There she met Ben. He sees and pursues the woman he feels would make his last days meaningful and full of good, ordinary living. His family and friends are already grieving for him and he does not want his last days to be full of sadness.

Luke disapproves of what he sees as a mercenary arrangement, but he stays in touch, determined to protect Ben. The ensuing conflicts take the reader along on a vicarious experience with a compelling group of characters.

The antagonists, Frankie, the sleazy, sneaky acquaintance from Juli’s past and Adele, Ben’s hateful, unreasonable sister cause Juli a heap of grief creating an undercurrent of tension that surfaces periodically throughout the story.

Maia, who works at the art gallery, and Anna Barbour, the artist, prove to be real friends to Juli through the good and the bad—something Juli never experienced before. Pastor Herrin is a new experience for Juli also. He nurtures her spiritual awakening with a gentle touch.

Beach Rental is about two very different kinds of love. Yet both are genuine and rewarding. Each of these loves shepherds Juli into a place where she blooms with each of her accomplishments. As the hard, protective shell she’d built around herself to survive in an unconcerned world, melts away, Juli flourishes and gives the reader a lovely surprise.

Grace Greene, with a captivating style, writes a compelling story about coping with the worst and enjoying the best of life, making it easy for the reader to empathize with the characters. Ms. Greene’s descriptions and her ability to create vibrant characters makes Beach Rental a book one wants to read non-stop. The strong heroine and the two very different but truly remarkable heroes lift one’s spirit and showcases the depth of caring that reinforces the reality of how valuable faith, hope, and love are in life.

Watching Derek’s show becomes her secret pleasure…and brings back memories best forgotten. When Derek’s mother throws him a big celebration in town, Robyn tries to avoid seeing him, but ends up in his arms for a dance.

Derek has finally hit the big-time, but he hasn’t found happiness. He regrets losing Robyn, and his show’s ratings are falling. He longs to get her back in his life–both personally, and as a writer on the show. Those love scenes she used to dream up were Emmy material. Knowing her marriage is a sham, can he convince her to follow her dreams and give the show–and him–a shot?

Soap Dreams is a romance within a romance; a recollection of a high school love, and all the possibilities of a love between adults. It is also a real romance paralleling the development of television romance. In an odd way, one is the reflection of another.

Robyn Miles is playing a role; it is her real life, but she’s acting, nonetheless.

How easy is it to fall back in love? We do see that he might have some other motivation beyond true love. And, the truth is, Derek might offer Robyn some career help, as well.

Ms. Haefner might spend a little too much time dredging through yearbook type history; adding perhaps unnecessary detail. We don’t doubt the emotion though. We also learn that Robyn was voted ‘most likely to succeed.’ Will other people’s expectations for her fuel a dramatic change in her life?

Robyn is most definitely married and her daily role is that of a wife and mother. She had dreams though, long ago…dreams that tempt her now, as much as Derek does. Is it selfish to pursue your dreams? Or is it worse to settle for something so far short of what she might achieve?

Penny, one time cheer-leading buddy and still full time good friend, only complicates the matter. The main characters and some supporting roles are well-developed and engaging. Robyn’s husband is nearly invisible at the start; when we finally meet Grant, he’s a bit too one-sided to be real. A little too much of this story happens passively, in memory or recollection. However, Robyn’s conflict, emotions and decisions are easy to appreciate and identify with, making the overall story very engaging.

Soap Dreams is a heartfelt and very original short story. For better or worse, Ms. Haefner generates sympathy for Robyn’s position, her dreams … and her responsibilities. Do read.

A soldier’s second chance…

As nervous as a teenager about to go on her first date, Jessica Mitchell waits for Special Forces Ranger Ryan McAdams—her best friend for the past year—whom she’s never met! They’ve been pen pals while Ryan was away fighting for their country and Jessica was secretly fighting her own demons back home.

She knows widower Ryan’s fears of returning to civilian life and his hopes of reconnecting with his son. Now she can’t wait to meet him face-to-face—to hear his voice and see his smile…

Can there be ‘love before first sight?’ Jessica Mitchell has spent a year exchanging letters with US Army ranger Ryan McAdams. Their first meeting – predictably – gives her a lot of anxiety. There aren’t just doubts about him – but she is full of self-doubt, as well as concealing a secret.

The wonderful thing is, each of them, through their letters, gave the other something to look forward to. The letters are cleverly shared, revealing so much more than they manage to stammer out in person. Ryan has seen the horror of battle and warn. He’s known personal tragedy, as well as a personal failure. He’s far from being the man his son needs to be.

At times, Jessica seems both bossy and silly. Ok, so she’s likely right, especially about his son. And, possibly, he needs someone to point him in a better direction. As it does from Ryan.

She has to worry if things between them would change, if he knew. Occasionally, her worry, her dragging interior monologue, is repetitive and fails to move the story along. It fails to reveal anything new about her – and its easy to feel impatient, as we simply want her to tell Ryan and know his response. In one sense, this worry is predictable, but in the series of emotions experienced, it really is not.

Truth and honesty challenge both of the main characters; challenge their feelings and trust – really in both ways. They are not ‘untruthful’ people, but each is used to struggling with their own battles, and not revealing their greatest challenges to another.

The Army Ranger’s Return is very sensitively and believably written. Lane creates powerful but very human characters, with admirable qualities, but also with qualities they each struggle with. There is an undertone of melancholy at times, but it makes the contrast with the joy of love so much more poignant. Do read.

Cursed with bad luck, and a stubbornness that gets her nowhere, Margarine Butter wants to shed her biker gypsy lifestyle for a white picket fence and a permanent address. When Remy offers her employment, she gambled with her desire for a new life and her attraction to the millionaire. Could she keep her distance and her identity secret long enough to secure her future?

Business conglomerate, Remington Montgomery, couldn’t believe the sexy waitress with the long blonde hair turned his money down after he accidentally got her fired from her job. So, when she whacked him with her leather studded purse and rode off on a Harley Davidson, he wanted to learn more about the woman who was not impressed by the size of his wallet. But would the price of loving her be his downfall?

The title intrigued me, the heroine’s name hooked me but the story enthralled and thoroughly entertained me. Biker Babe in Black is a cute, romantic and well written tale that surprised me with its humor, heart and ability to engage my emotions.

Margarine Butter a/k/a Margie was a delightful revelation. Yes, Ms. Kayn had a field day with butter jokes but a reader soon gets past that to the woman underneath and the complex feelings she has. Her very life is contradictory and the author keeps a reader on her/his toes trying to figure out where this was all going and where Margie will actually end up. She’s a drifter but a hard worker. The heroine is unconventional and she knows it but she has such a wonderful, loving and supportive family network, she’s not afraid to try and fail. Thing is, she truly doesn’t want to fail. It’s her earnestness and determination with a back bone rigid with strength of purpose that intrigues the hero.

The author outdid herself with the introduction of Remy, the hero. Their mismatched signals initially caused hilarity and a reader is hard pressed not to like their chemistry right off the bat. Remy is a very rich man, but in truth, he’s poor in heart and has an emotional defense well in place. I enjoyed how Margie, by just being herself, slowly wore down Remy’s meager resistance. He thinks he can have his cake and eat it too and he never fully realizes the toll it takes on Margie. The reader will, however. And, eventually, through Margie’s passive-aggressive actions, he wakes up.

And that’s the only quirk about Margie’s character I wasn’t totally enamored of. A person can get over the issue or the disorder faced by order cheap viagra raindogscine.com men. Diabetes is a slowly progressive, autoimmune disorder; associated with faulty regulation of immune system; thus, attacking and destroying insulin production and/or insulin functioning. purchase cialis online http://raindogscine.com/?attachment_id=23 OT’s assess and help people perform a myriad of chemical conversions that allow you raindogscine.com viagra the pill to stay alive. Some professionals say that this is often buy cialis canada a signal of attainable injury to the liver. At one point, she makes perfect sense and I applauded her plan of action but it didn’t happen. The author chose differently and perhaps it pushed the plot to where the author needed it to go, but I felt let down. I really wanted that confrontation. I wanted the fireworks because I was sure it was going to be a humdinger. It was going to clear the air or heighten the suspense of the relationship. Instead, Remy, being clueless, basically let the air out and the scene deflated like a balloon.

Jumping to later on, Margie’s character finally finds her stride. I think being with Remy fixed something inside the heroine’s character. The feeling of success, of seeing what it looks like, feels like and the knowledge that she could achieve it on her own brought her more to life.

Secondary characters are few but incredibly memorable. When they all get together at Remy’s house, it was a combination moment filled with hope, then fun, and then mortification. That scene alone had me grinning ear to ear. I could visualize it being on television and it becoming a favorite of fans just because of the opportunities for slapstick comedy.

The editing was practically perfect, the dialogue fun, witty and full of the zest for life. The happily ever after was adorable, endearing and totally fit the story and its characters.

Biker Babe in Black is a riot and sure to leave a lasting impression on readers. The author did a wonderful job of crafting Remy and Margie into characters that I could connect with emotionally and I certainly did care for them. I also credit Ms. Kayn with a unique and oddball sense of humor that made this reading experience extra-special. I’ll be telling my friends all about this book just so they too can be equally uplifted by this romance full of positive energy. I smiled so much, my face hurt.
