Just another dull debutante?

From boxing at Jackson’s to dancing starry-eyed society belles around London’s ballrooms, Beldon Stratten is the perfect English gentleman. And he’s looking for a perfectly bland, respectable wife.

Appearances can be deceiving…

Exotic Lilya Stefanov is anything but bland. Beldon is intrigued to see that the ragamuffin girl he once knew has matured into an elegant lady, poised and polite!

But beneath the mysterious beauty’s evening gowns and polished etiquette lies a dangerous secret—and a scandalous sensuality…

A secret life with a scandalous destiny. A strong-minded, courageous woman, sworn to uphold her family’s lifelong mission. And the man who can give her the one thing she never believed she could have. Bronwyn Scott’s Secret Life of a Scandalous Debutante takes these delicious ingredients and creates a mouth-watering romance to savor on a cool autumn night.

At the heart of the novel is the chemistry between Belton Stratten and Lilya Stefanov. Neither seeks romance with the other, yet they are inevitably drawn to one another despite circumstances that suggest disaster will be the outcome of such a liaison. The two are very much alike—decisive, honorable, passionate—filled with a sense of duty to family. These shared traits become apparent early on, giving the reader impetus to root for the couple who are obviously “made for each other.” Lilya’s character is particularly well drawn as womanly in a strength yet not easily swayed from her duty. She is both of her time period yet with a modern sensibility of purpose beyond the personal.

I also especially liked the way Ms. Scott handled the political elements of her story. The external conflict, the Greek bid for independence during the early 19th century, creates Lilya’s major motivation and ensuing internal conflict, leading to her rejection of romance. This feature is not only unique http://deeprootsmag.org/2012/10/12/cause-and-effect/ buying viagra in india in itself, but also fantastic. Yet the politics and intrigue in no way overshadowed the romantic elements of the story. The novel seemed nicely positioned in the time period and I applaud the use of this seemingly little known historical event as the catalyst for her story.

Unfortunately, a major drawback in the novel for me was the lack of judicious editing. Even if I did not have knowledge of the elements editors seek to correct, I would wonder at some of the errors I found in the book. Words and names are repeated excessively within paragraphs, the worst offender being a character’s name repeated three times in one paragraph. And several inconsistencies were apparent: a character addressed as “Lady” on one page was called “Miss” on another, the anachronistic use of the word “milquetoast,” and the lack of mention of a corset as Lilya is undressed in a time period in which women would have worn one. These were little things that kept pulling me out of a novel I enjoyed being immersed in. A firm editorial pen could have made my experience even more pleasurable.

Secret Life of a Scandalous Debutante is a wonderful love story, set against the backdrop of political intrigue and treachery. The hero and heroine steadfastly battle for what is right, not just for them, but for the world and its larger canvas. Their selfless devotion shines throughout the novel, bringing all the savory ingredients from a slow simmer to a passionate boil. My hope is that you take the time enjoy the feast.

Grace Lynn Stevenson is an eighteen year old girl who recently moved with her wealthy, but busy parents to a new city. She’s popular, pretty and rich – what more could a girl want? But deep down, she’s sad, lonely and plagued by nightmares. When she meets Sebastian Caldwood at her new private school, she’s inexplicably drawn to him and his strange tattoos. Sebastian always gets what he wants – he simply has to wish it; but he’s fighting his own inner demons, and struggling to remember a past that eludes him. When he remembers that he is much older than he looks, he realizes that he’s seen many people live and die, including Grace.

Once Sebastian realizes his true nature and finds what he has been searching for the past hundreds of years, he also realizes that it is now up to him to protect Grace from the dangers that have plagued them throughout eternity.

Grace lives a life of privilege. More often than not, that life isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Her family has done well to uphold their image. Grace is popular, beautiful, talented, and so much more. She’s got a popular boyfriend who comes from a good family as well. Little does Grace know, something is missing. And when she meets Sebastian, a boy no one is sure of, she starts to see life in a different perspective.

I wasn’t sure what to think of Grace when the story first opens. Was she going to be one of those snobby popular girls I never cared for? When Sebastian approaches her during her free period while she is working on her art, she isn’t the nicest to him. Though as the book goes on, Grace changes her mind and feelings about Sebastian. There are a lot of benefits if a person tends to face. http://appalachianmagazine.com/2017/06/27/potential-active-shooter-incident-at-redstone-arsenal-in-alabama/ generico levitra on line Are Aphrodisiacs Real? The more time she spends with him, the more Grace realizes that the life isn’t all about keeping up an image, being perfect, and being around those with wealth and power. Though family and friends disapprove of her new friend, Grace doesn’t care.

Sebastian was a mystery to me. He intrigued me, kept me wondering who he was and where he came from. He’s different, and not afraid to embrace that. There are those at his school who don’t treat him well, but he’s not the kind of guy who cares about that. He’s sweet and protective of Grace, and his character kept me drawn into the story. He shows Grace new things, and as time went by I realized just how much I liked her after all.

Written in Grace’s point of view, this book has a paranormal element to it, but it took me a bit to figure out what that was. There are characters I loved and there were some I wasn’t too thrilled with. The emotion from Grace and Sebastian had me flying through the pages, holding on for a touching and beautiful ride. Amber Frost is haunting, charming, and amazing. Though it is young adult, people of all ages have an opportunity to enjoy a wonderfully written story that will leave you breathless.

If you enjoy reading in the paranormal genre, and if you like romance geared towards the young adult age, then don’t hesitate to grab a copy of Amber Frost. Let this magical story steal your heart.

Their Secrets Will Draw Them Together

As one of England’s most capable mercenaries, Emma Astyn can charm an enemy and brandish a knife with unmatched finesse. Assigned to befriend Dubh Duer, an infamous Scottish rebel, she assumes the guise of innocent damsel Christina Moffat to intercept the writ he’s carrying to a traitorous bishop. But as she gains the dark hero’s confidence and realizes they share a tattered past, compassion—and passion—distract her from the task at hand…

But The Truth May Tear Them Apart

His legendary slaying of English knights has won him the name Dubh Duer, but Sir Patrik Cleary MacGruder is driven by duty and honor, not heroics. Rescuing Christina from the clutches of four such knights is a matter of obligation for the Scot. But there’s something alluring about her fiery spirit, even if he has misgivings about her tragic history. Together, they’ll endure a perilous journey of love and betrayal, and a harrowing fight for their lives…

Traumatic experiences in childhood govern the psyche of both Emma Astyn and Sir Patrik Cleary MacGruder.

Unloved, abused, and alone in late thirteenth century-England, Emma (aka Christine Moffat) has no thought of morals and ethics. Surviving by her wits and cunning, she has become a top mercenary spy for England. If the money is right, she is happy to do an assignment and is not particularly concerned about who might get hurt in the process—that is until she goes to Scotland to gain information and to expose the legendary Dubh Duer (Patrik).

When he “saves” her from English knights, his gentle touch, quiet strength, and promised protection make her deceit taste bitter, but she knows she must do her job if she wants to live. Her journey, in this story, from being “a-not-too-likeable” heroine to being a heroine that I cried for, makes Hist Destiny an enthralling tale.

Patrik’s hatred for the English, after he watched them kill his family, drives him to do some despicable things. Some of these things alienates him from the MacGruders, his adoptive family whom he loves as if they were blood kin. If you’ve had the good fortune to read Diana Cosby’s His Captive, His Woman and His Conquestyou’ll remember Patrik and the intriguing, powerful MacGruders from these fascinating tales.

Even though His Destiny is set in one of the most horrific times in the history of England and Scotland, English Emma’s and Scottish Patrik’s hearts and souls connect, refusing to be influenced by politics or ideologies. The unintended love that grows between these two very secretive people is a thing of beauty amongst a lot of ugliness. The love scenes touch the tender, caring spot in the heart that reaches far deeper than just the carnal pleasure, even though that part is breathtaking.

Diana Cosby immerses the reader in the harsh, yet beautiful, almost mystical environment of Scotland—the haunting mist, the bright beauty on a sunny day, and the majestic castle of the MacGruders with its “grandmother’s” room where peace and a bit of magic can be felt. She adds the touches of history to give a fine sense of time and place. But, more especially, she makes the characters so believable as they show their weaknesses, strengths, and what and whom they believe in enough to die for.

His Destiny is a journey back in time that enchants with an awesome love story of two wounded hearts and souls that find redemption and love together. Good reading!

Ashlin wants to save the beast marked for the hunt, but when intelligence sparks in his eyes, the idea becomes the gateway to a new life.

Ashlin has spent her life trying to move beyond her status as a throwback. Unlike all of the population around her, she has to fight for respect on a daily basis. When being Hunt Master is taken from her once again, she resolves to avoid the hunt, but looking into the eyes of the beast to be hunted, she knows she cannot ignore the intelligence in those silver eyes. Leaving her home before dawn, she waits for the beast to catch up to her and manages to help him transform back into Rumble of the Sector Guard. In that moment her fate is sealed and her life in the stars begins.

Viola Grace has once again created a new and unusual blended species in this, the twenty-second book of the Sector Guard series.

As the best hunter on Endin, Ashlin Offrey should be the one chosen to lead the ritual Harvest Hunt. But Ashlin knows she will never be awarded that honor, because not only is she a female, she is also ‘different’ from the rest of the Endin race. As a mixed race being, she has several hidden talents: hidden by choice from all those who already think of her as a freak.

When she looks into the eyes of the beast chosen for the hunt, she realizes something the others don’t; that there is an intelligent being trapped in the body of the beast, and she is determined that he will not be destroyed. What she doesn’t know is that he is Rumble, a member of the elite Sector Guard, and he allowed his entrapment and capture to recruit Ashlin to the Guard. When Ashlin is injured during their escape attempt, Ecros, or Rumble, does his best to keep her alive until they reach the base.

As Ashlin’s body heals, she also begins to change and develop another form. Can she come to terms with this new body, so different from anything seen before? Can Ashlin accept Ecros as not only her Sector Guard partner, but as her mate as well? What does her new talent mean for her future in the Guard?

Grace provides me with a new and delightful character with whom to become acquainted. I continue to enjoy the new and varied worlds of the Sector Guard and the unique and engaging people that inhabit these worlds.

Ashlin Offrey, or Hunter, is a strong, intelligent and determined young woman. She realizes that her mixed bloodlines make her different from the small, gray skinned Endin people she has lived with her whole life. As an Endin/Wyoran blend, she has the look of her more feline ancestors, and the talents inherent in their species. I enjoyed watching as she outsmarted the Endin hunters to rescue Ecros (Rumble) and free him from his lion form. It was wonderful to see her become more than just another hunter, and I was pleased to she how she delighted in her acceptance and curiosity about her new form.

Ecros, or Rumble, is a strong and attractive Kalordan male, and he is determined to win the affection of Ashlin. I was shocked to realize that he had himself deliberately forced into his lion so that he could observe Ashlin and her talent, even though he was in danger during the whole episode. I loved the interaction between these two, and I was glad that he was willing to wait after stating his intentions, not forcing the issue.

This is filled with humor, and some sarcastic and witty repartee between the two main characters. When Ashlin develops a whole new form, she handles it well. I loved the irony that the first assignment that this team draws is to return to Endin and rescue a lost hunting party, and the secrets and betrayals that are revealed there were very much a surprise I didn’t see coming. There is also a visit with some characters from past stories and I enjoyed catching up. This has a most satisfying happy ever after for these two, but only after a grand adventure through the stars.

Definitely a regency worth reading. Florentina is true to her Spanish blood, full of fire and passion. Adam is the epitome of a Regency gentleman, pure as the driven snow in public, but in private a man driven by his passion. Continuously pulled apart and pushed together, the pair are drawn into each others arms. The barrier between them is Florentina’s secret life and her willingness to put herself in danger for Adam’s sake.

While reading this story I could swear I was right there, watching their every move and wishing I could help. The new Duchess complicated the story and I longed to tell her what I thought of her, but I needn’t have worried. Both Adam and Florentina were aware of her tricks. Most of the characters showed a surprising side to their natures. This turned them from typical regency characters into real people and made the book much more enjoyable.

This book is a true regency but beware: it is definitely a sizzling hot read and should not be picked up by the faint-hearted.

In all her time as premier tour manager to Australia’s stars, Charli Chambers has never had someone as infuriating—or delectable!—as successful businessman Luca Petrelli along for the ride. He might always be in the gossip columns, but there’s no way she’s letting him claim VIP status!

But Luca’s wicked eyes are just too tempting. In spite of herself, Charli’s soon attending after-parties—just for two. She wants to believe this is one duet that’s about to go platinum, but in spite of Luca being unprintably good in bed, can she ever get close enough to the real Luca for their fling to be more than just a one-hit wonder?

Set in Australia, this book reminds me of the old Mills and Boon Romances. Because of this, I had a lovely wave of nostalgia while reading this book. Having said that, please, be assured it is definitely a contemporary novel, and is completely set in the here and now.

One of the threads that caused the nostalgia was the constant verbal antagonism and misconceptions between the hero and the heroine. The near constant bickering was in direct contrast to the heat produced when they finally consummated their physical relationship.

I also enjoyed the fact that the story was set in Australia. However, not viagra sildenafil 100mg all penis pills seem to be created equal. Many online viagra prescription medical experts generally argue that the medications are said to be reactive simultaneously with nitrate. The two medicines are made using tadalafil 50mg the same core content and are able to offer the same performance in terms of erection. This was not a main focus in the story, but rather, it just happened to be set there. There were some nice historical/descriptive sections when Charli was investigating places for Storm to take his son, or actually being in those places. It was a nice addition to the tension and bickering described in the rest of the story.

Luca, our hero, seems like many – sure of his dominance, and his “rightness”, and out to get what he wants. And Charli, while being a strong, independent woman, is grounded in rejection and self-doubt.

Luca’s Grandfather (and Charli’s boss) plays a pivotal role in their relationship. He’s kind of the “tie” that gift-wraps their relationship.

Nothing new, nothing ingenious about this story. But a nice read, and one that will put a smile on your face!

But headstrong Bianca vows to teach her husband that loyalty cannot be bought…not even by seduction.

Cristiano, a well-known warrior with the wealth of a king, could have any woman he desires. But for the sake of peace he ends up with a defiant bride who awakens his deepest passion. Her vengeful scheming puts them both in peril, but is he prepared to sacrifice his life to safeguard the woman who has stolen his heart?

Mistrust, family loyalty versus spousal loyalty and Cristiano’s deep-seated fear wreak havoc on a marriage.

The gorgeous, wealthy, powerful warrior Cristiano de Medici wants Bianca with the long blonde hair and crystal blue eyes even though she is of the Albizzi family that strives to take political power from the Medici family in the fifteenth century city-state of Florence.

Cristiano tells himself that even though he never planned to marry, he will, to perhaps bring the two families to some kind of peaceful agreement if the marries Bianca. Yet, in truth, he cannot stop thinking about the slender blonde who speaks her mind with courage, and had a stubborn streak a mile wide.

Bianca, while telling herself she’ll marry to secure her immediate family’s well being, truly finds Cristiano breathtaking. True, his size and fierce look intimidate some, but to her he seems sculpted by God’s own hand. Her sister Francisca informs her that, according to gossip, he is reputed to be a great and gentle lover.

Ms. Corti-Petska develops the secondary characters with such economic skill that they play their roles in realistic fashion keeping emotions high but staying in the background as the mesmerizing love of Cristiano and Bianca struggles along under an oppressive load. Exquisite descriptions are a feast for the senses

From time to time, the imagery used in love scenes and highly emotional scenes adds a poignancy and subtly that captures the imagination and thrills a romance reader’s heart. Also, the title is so fitting. Bianca is Cristiano’s “precious lily” and he, like a falcon, strikes swiftly and fiercely when he spots his prey. How these two move from “carnal pleasure” to a love that reaches the heart and soul makes GOOD reading.

I enjoyed watching as he stood by her side, helping her adjust to her new life, without pressuring for more. I loved his supportive nature, and his willingness to let her have space and time to adjust to the new life thrust upon her, more or less.

This is a sweet and gentle romance. Cila has never been in a relationship, never wanting to cause harm to another. And Arkhov has always been the family bully, and he focuses his attention to keeping Cila safe but not smothered. There are a couple of dangers to overcome, like the raiders, and their first, rather sudden, assignment. “The name’s Cougar. Just Cougar. One name is enough.”

Behind the bravado was a complex man. War hero. “Indian cowboy.” Walking wounded in search of answers. Cougar needed to build a new life, and he’d start with what he loved most. Horses. Which brought him to the Double D Wild Horse Sanctuary. And into the orbit of ranch volunteer Celia Banyon and her very special son.

The boy had suffered an unspeakable accident, and his mother felt unspeakable guilt. But something about Cougar brought her back from the brink. He represented her chance to be a woman again. Now, suddenly, one name wasn’t enough for what they could have if they’d just let themselves. Healing. Love. Family. Forever. It viagra prescription for woman is utilized for a lot of reasons. Cougar was looking for a place to heal. He was wounded badly in war and came home to find out his younger brother had sold his horses. That was another wound to his heart.

Ms. Eagle does an excellent job of combining several issues into her story: war trauma, spousal abuse, an abused and traumatized child, and horse therapy. She wends Indian history in the story through the Native American characters she has in the story. Her plot is real, the story flows well, and you immediately empathize with Celia who is trying to avoid her ex-husband and protect her son. She makes her male character strong in character and body both, and soon he’s trying to run interference.

The Double D Wild Horse Sanctuary is a sanctuary for the people there as well the horses. Cougar knows horses (as does the author based on her writing) and he has hopes the works will sooth his war wounds and help him recover. The young boy who acts as if he’s deaf and mute also loves the horses, even if he feels Celia is a bit overprotective. Most moms are.
Personally, I would have been a little rougher on the ex-husband. However, how the author handles it is the best solution.

This is an easy read that is very entertaining. I enjoyed the Indian cowboy touch, and how the author ended the story. It’s fun to read such a satisfying story.

Why not snag a copy of this book and hang out with the wounded warriors and the pretty horses? You won’t regret it.
