This short story packs a powerful “Aw, shucks” moment because the author took the time to explore her characters’ emotions; bringing depth and feeling to the culmination of the happily ever after.

I liked the overall tone and storytelling voice of Hounding the Beat. There’s humor woven in during the dialogue exchanges between the characters which increased my enjoyment of this tale. The story is told in each character’s point of view so a reader can understand the doubts, worries and hopes that drives each one. The heroine, Chantelle, is a bit of a know-it-all but I liked how the author had Bobby notice and comment on that. By addressing it within the story, I could accept that omniscient aspect, mostly because at times it drove Bobby, one of the heroes, bonkers and he said so – not to her face though.

Another thing I got a kick out of was the scene with the hats. This story takes place in Britain so there are a few references indicating the differences between what I’m used to in America and what the characters experience while being on a British police force. The author explained through her characters in a very clever way and I was fascinated and entertained. In fact, just remembering the part with the hats is making me smile. After the sheets got a work out I was so happy for Sam because at that point I recognized when he realized that what Bobby and Chantelle were offering was real and special. I enjoyed getting to know the three characters and liked how the author explored them enough so readers can connect and relate to their emotions. Many times throughout I found myself smiling and a few scenes had me fanning myself. Ms. Bidwell wrote a very engaging story and I’m thrilled I got to read it.

It’s funny how, when you read a book that is so good, the characters not only hold your attention but your heart as well. Not only does the book have an in-depth plot that broke my heart, it also had a beautiful air of tenderness that left me breathless.

Roan’s need for a family and to be loved, even though he is a supermodel, was a story line that made my heart ache for him. It was hard watching and waiting for Jake to make up his mind and decide what he wanted out of life. There is so much emotion between the pages of this book that I found it hard to put down. This is one of the best M/M stories I have read and one I will be reading again. The story of Jake and Roan is so exquisite I walked away from this tale loving them both.

We get to know what makes Simon tick and we see Dana grow up and find her heart not just her enjoyment of their games.

Juniper Bell writes an emotional, sexy story full of love and trust. When Dana and Ethan open up there is no stopping them; add in Simon and you have a force to be reckoned with. This was a wonderful story and I cannot wait to see just what Ethan and Simon have in store for Dana next.

On a postive note, the author distinguished herself from the average BDSM storyline by writing Evan as a submissive that can top from the bottom. This intrigued me but I think that Evan had way too much power to be a true sub. For example Evan was allowed to speak and ask for the thing he wanted in this D/s relationship. In the end I realized that while the D/s relationship was a large part of their lives the love they felt for one another was more important.

The BDSM kink is explosive through out this entire story. Sexual intercourse is not a high priority for this triad. Ménages are author Crissy Smith’s specialty. The first story in this series really set the bar because it was my all time favorite ménage, and maybe even favorite erotic story. I am happy to say that this story lived up to my expectations with its plot, characterization, and sexual exploits. Not only is Shawn trying to win back the man he loves, but now he needs to figure out a way to introduce Bree to his mate and win her over so she can join what will hopefully be their happy lives. That is one big feat for a man who has hidden insecurities, but he is committed to do it, which I admire. Kyle, while he is submissive within the pack, shows alpha qualities when necessary, so he more than makes up for what Shawn occasionally lacks — though no one is lacking in the bedroom. Bree is just a quirky artist that you cannot help yourself but smile at while reading this story. When all three enter the bedroom, sparks fly.

If you previously read the first story you will love seeing some old characters up to their antics. If you are new to this series you will equally appreciate the secondary characters and feel right at home. Though you will probably want to go back and read the original story because these characters are that good! After I finished reading this story I wanted to go right back and read it again — so that should tell you what treat you are in store for.

The way they interacted with Calam and Ilyna was phenomenal for vampires. They care deeply and it reflects greatly in their actions through the end.

Where do I even start with this book and how amazing it was? Not only were the characters well rounded but the story was deliciously written to where you couldn’t help but turn the pages to read more. The ending was both delightful and surprising. I didn’t see it coming but I was happy when it did. I have read each and every one of the books in this series and with each one Ms. Bradley makes me look forward to the next.
