This author makes everything about her books “real”. Her characters feel emotions that I find easy to understand and relate to. After all, Ellie is a busy doctor and Max is in the FBI and neither one of them wants to get involved at this point in their careers. I can understand that. And I can also understand why that wonderful reasoning doesn’t work.

The killers are determined to get rid of witnesses and hire assassins to accomplish that. As Ellie and Max fight them off and try to keep Ellie safe, they grow close and begin depending on each other. This is an action packed story with danger all around, with an informant in the FBI office, and no way to know who you can trust. You hope all will end well, but there’s no guarantee when you are involved with dangerous folks on the other side of the law whose witnesses disappear before the trial can held.

With all the tension in the story from the chase, the author relieves the atmosphere by adding Ellie’s family problems and creating a heated relationship between the two who didn’t want commitment. It’s fast paced, tantalizing story that keeps your eyes glued to the page. This is well-put-together thriller with a side of romance. Get your own copy and “taste” it.

I’ll admit I didn’t like Savanna at first. She’s spoiled, hasn’t worked a day in her life, and could be considered a Pampered Princess. The kind who can just run to Daddy and he will fix everything for her. Not this time, though, and Savanna gets a taste of having to deal with life on her own. But further into the story, the author sheds some light on the reasons for Savanna’s actions and attitudes, and she goes through a major change. More and more into the story, Savanna redeems herself, becoming more grown up and responsible, and definitely likable.

I loved Brodie from the start. His family — Nan and Blair — are hilarious and their presence in the story gave me plenty of laughs and heartwarming feelings. This deliciously funny and touching story kept me up long into the night. I wanted to devour every last page but at the same time I didn’t want the story to end, either. I fell in love with the dynamic characters and the fun plot. Ms. Louellen’s sparkling debut is one to remember.

If you love a tender romance, characters that make you laugh and cry, and an all around good feeling, then get ready to fall in love with Brodie’s Bride. And Brodie, too.

I have tears in my eyes as I write this because the ending of this story was so beautiful, romantic and it made me feel like I needed to hug somebody. I simply had to write this review right away. If a reader is looking for a book with characters they can believe in, then The Man She Loves to Hate is a winner.

The title can be a bit misleading, making a reader think it’s going to be full of angst, darkness and over the top conflict. It’s not. In fact, it’s about hope, redemption, determination and a celebration of life. Oh don’t get me wrong, there is a deep emotional conflict that colors and influences some of the actions in the book but what I found gratifying is the hero and heroine not succumbing to its poison. I am thrilled that Ms. Hunter wrote a story that is focused on two people falling in love in spite of and despite the past, the community perception of the heroine and the legacy of the hero’s father.

I loved how the author set up Jolie and Cole to meet again later in life in a situation that stripped away all of those nasty lies and gave them an almost clean slate to work with. It was the first time either saw each other for who they really were or who they could be, if they could only break the shackles of their mutual painful past. And what I liked was their willingness to try. That took guts, courage and of course, a healthy dose of lust and passion didn’t exactly hurt.

I liked Jolie a lot. I got the biggest kick out of her job. What a fun profession, although it’s clear from the book that she worked hard at it and it’s not without challenges as well as triumphs. She got there on her own through sheer determination and grit. The heroine is a strong character despite her internal doubts and insecurity. Jolie hides them well but the reader will see so much more. I enjoyed the creative outlet that the author gave the heroine when emotions were at a fevered pitch. It was insightful, fascinating and actually entertaining. And I adored (and I know I wore a loopy grin) when Cole made his comment about how he wanted one of the pictures to look. He used to be just as cynical and condemning as the rest of his family and peers until that fateful day. His whole world turned on its axis when he figured out that the situation wasn’t exactly what he was told. Since he was a kid, he’d been hurting inside – bleeding for what he thought was lost. As an adult, Cole found out some truths and I was so proud of him when he stood up for what he knew was right and for what he wanted. It was such a powerful moment in the book and Ms. Hunter did it justice.

The ending and wrap up is what bowled me over. Everything that happened before fed into that ending making it one of the most poignant and beautiful reunions of two lovers ever. The dialogue, the passion, and the vibrant feelings – the author brought them all to life, and it left me blubbering into a tissue with happy tears misting my eyes.

There was even humor and my favorite part was the shower stall. Those poor tiles – what a genius idea! And then there was the part in the gondola – Jolie was so cheeky. What fun.

The Man She Loves to Hate is a huggable and lovable book. Romance readers are in for a treat while they watch two unlikely people fall in love against all odds with a passion and honesty that will stand the test of time. Ms. Hunter has written a book that touched my heart. If this is a sample of her consistent writing style, then I want more. I enjoyed her voice and the way she told this story. I guarantee that I’ll be looking for additional books from this talented author.

I bit my nails, ground my teeth and flipped through the pages at a furious clip because I never knew what was going to happen next and the suspense kept me glued to my chair. The Shadow Wolf has the emotional punch to make what happens to the hero and heroine matter to a reader.

Right off the bat, Ms. Vanak introduced characters that would appeal to a reader. She painted a scene of despair, hopelessness and fear while showcasing the heroine’s determination, strength and loyalty. The first chapter presented the main players who have the most to lose and gain during the course of this story and sets up the initial conflict between the hero and heroine. And wouldn’t you know, just as I’m writing this I realized something about one of the characters that I read about early on. I’m in shock. Oh, my gosh! I didn’t catch it on the first read through. That really twists the knife. And now I understand all the ramifications. I’m officially blown away. Oh poor, Gabriel.

Yes, Ms. Vanak created characters I cared about. Once the hero, Gabriel bared his heart, there was only one option open to me and that was to fall in love with him too. I wanted to hug him, care for him and wanted him to be happy. He eventually gets all those things from Megan, the heroine but not without some seriously suspenseful and heartbreaking moments along the way.

Megan has had to fight tooth and nail to get where she is and to get where she’s going. She has been hurt so much and so badly, trusting someone else is a huge stumbling block for her. And yet, for all her doubts and fears, she tentatively reaches out to Gabriel and the action begins.

The twins are adorable and important. They are little kids who’ve seen too much and yet still retain some of their innocence and charm. They are the glue that holds the little group together initially until the bigger picture gets painted for a reader and the scope with which they’re up against is revealed.

The suspense of not knowing who to trust, why what is happening is happening and will they get away and survive intact is a constant. The conflicts are many but the solution comes down to a decision that only Megan and Gabriel can make. Once they do, it was thrilling to see the intense and volatile scenes that followed. And it was a WOW! moment when it was revealed just what Gabriel really was. Never saw that coming and it made me wonder why they were hunted in the first place. Something tells me it was the other nasties that arranged it all those many years ago. Interesting thought and it makes sense.

The happily ever after is tender, sweet and well earned. In fact it was the icing on the cake. Right before the charming part, their coming together was its own happy ever after and it was sensual, poignant and well written. If a reader is looking for well written physical expressions of love, they’ll find it here.

The Shadow Wolf is one heck of a ride that will leave a reader breathless. I think my TMJ got a workout from all the teeth clenching I did during the suspenseful parts – of which there were many. At one point I thought the heroine was spiraling down into a cliché but no, she dodged that one with style and true grit. This story has dark depths and a meaty plot sure to appeal to paranormal romantic suspense readers who look for a quality written story. The editing is perfect, the characters extremely well formed and the dynamics between the hero and heroine are wonderful. I was thoroughly entertained and can say with all confidence that readers are in for a treat and a great read when they pick up their own copy of The Shadow Wolf.

One of the darkest, scariest parts is Willa’s wild, beyond-endurance race from Paris to a small village in England to insure the well-being of a little boy and his dad when it seems all the world has turned against her.

The Wild Rosecomes full circle at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Scarred but content and at peace, Willa and Seamus find their place and joy in their forever love as they share the best of themselves with each other and with one adored child.

Jennifer Donnelly masterfully weaves together a main plot with a multitude of sub-plots–all crammed full of true-to-life characters that stir the whole gamut of emotions from bliss to deepest despair. The Wild Rose is phenomenal.

If a reader appreciates a book filled with pictures painted with words, and details that animate a world within your mind, then look no further than the amazing book by the talented Ms. Kennedy.

The Lady of the Storm is a book worth spending the time with. I was first introduced to this alternate and fantastical England with The Fire Lord’s Lover. The world building astounded me then and I couldn’t imagine how much more could be added; it was already so rich. Ms. Kennedy had it covered. In this latest adventure, the author introduced me to a new quest, new characters, and new obstacles for the hero and heroine to overcome. I can also assure readers that this is a terrific stand alone read.

Readers of the first book will understand the references to ‘being tested” and know that it’s not a good thing. For those who are visiting for the first time with this story, enough gets shared during character dialogue to understand why it’s to be feared. The explanations of why there is a rebellion are, again, naturally presented in the due course of events.

The author first sets up the relationship between Giles and Cecily by delving into their past and sharing the things that made them the people they are. By the time the tale begins in earnest, I understood the internal conflicts that tore them apart inside, and the external conflict that affected not just them but all of their English countrymen. It’s a fight for independence and reclamation of their life and lands.

Cecily is delightfully stubborn yet is a tender hearted lady. She only allows herself to accept the magic inside of her that helps others or causes no harm. There’s a reason for that and it’s believable. Her magic also gets employed as a tool to move the plot along. I liked how the author molded a young sheltered girl into a woman that’s a force to be reckoned with. The transition was detailed in such a way that I felt like I was shadowing the heroine every step of the way. Cecily inadvertently trained herself for her future and only after reading this book will readers understand what I mean. Magic is the world she was born into, but not all that she knows.

The romance is at the heart of this book but it’s tempered with the intrigue, suspense and light drama that the hero and heroine have to deal with before they can reach their happy ever after. The villain wasn’t a specific all encompassing target like it was in the first book. In The Lady of the Storm, there are villains and there are confrontations, bloody ones at that, but this tale is more about Cecily and Giles coming to an understanding about each other in spite of it all. Realizing they love each other in the midst of everything and battling for that love to survive against evil magical odds made for an entertaining read.

Secondary characters play vital roles in helping the hero and heroine get to where they need to be and do what had to be done. Some of them I wanted to toss into a smelly moat and others I wanted to hug. They were all well developed and brought the story into more vivid life. The writing was superb; the author paid close attention to detail without letting the story stagnant and it never gets bogged down. The pace was crisp, the dialogue true to the character’s personalities, and every now and again, a spot of humor and tenderness smoothed away any rough edges.

The Lady of the Storm is another whirlwind ride into the magical chaos that is England – a world that is fascinating as well as dangerous. Thanks to the stellar writing talents of Ms. Kennedy, I have a new series that will be an auto-buy for me. As real as the story seems when I’m in the midst of it, I am so glad no fire demons will actually jump out at me. However, I wouldn’t mind a Giles of my own, without that spooky sword of his, that is. Thank you, Ms. Kennedy, for a wild reading experience and for introducing me to a heroine and hero I enjoyed getting to know.

Ms. Blake takes one’s breath away with the realness of it all. She ramps up the anxiety with the antagonist surprises presence that threatens to destroy all that the hurricane had not. However, the crown jewel of the story is the love story that threads through it all like the golden thread in a tapestry that enriches its warmth and sparkle as it reveals a surprise, or maybe not-so-surprising, soul mate connect.

The developing relationship between Aurelia and Stephen was particularly touching and negated Finn’s obtuseness about the role he should play in his brother’s lives. Although he was a good and caring man, he went completely overboard in his role as guardian of two young men who were twenty-one. His learning to accept that his goals were not their goals was a touching thing to see and I cheered his character growth on this point and impatiently waited to see if he could get past his personal stumbling block to a satisfying relationship with Dakota.

This book grabbed me within the first three chapters and hung on right to the end. Pick up a copy for yourself and see if you don’t agree that it’s a satisfying and rewarding read.

Ms. Stone has created a complicated plot with lots of little subplots. There will be more in this series, I’m sure. She’s going to pick up one of the strings she left hanging out and work another story from there.
