Once again Ms. Morgan has created a tale where nothing is as it seems, taking readers on a journey of discovery as two people find love with whom they definitely didn’t want to, and would deny if asked. What made it interesting is that both the heroine and hero fight against the roles they’ve been forced into, and in doing so, reveal to themselves and readers that there’s nothing wrong with saying I’m sorry.

Polly is a powerhouse of a woman. Her drive is compensation. She’s trying to make up for her father, which is like beating your head against a brick wall. Later on it’s revealed that she is protective and loyal to a fault. She doesn’t advertise the things she’s quietly and stoically done in the past and she has no intention of ever doing so, but Damon is a thorn in her side he wrangles the truth out of her … eventually.

Damon is a man burdened. He’s carried so much responsibility from a young age, he can’t let go. His drive to control, manipulate and mandate has only ever been done with the best of intentions. For some reason, this time with Polly, he’s following his passion and making mistakes. Or is he? I prefer to think his heart was making him do things without consulting his brain. I enjoyed watching a confused Damon slowly fall into love with the career focused Polly.

Secondary characters are minor but nonetheless powerful. Polly’s father and Damon’s sister are spoken about a lot but readers only “meet” them for brief scenes. When they did interact with the protagonists, I was treated to an “Aha!” moment. It left me feeling sad for all concerned because all any of them really wanted was to be happy. Being the imperfect people they are, as we all are, they don’t always make the best choices but they make do with what they have chosen. And Damon needed to learn to accept that and move on. When Damon revealed his inner pain to Polly, I melted and wanted to hug him. What a horrible horrid thing he had to deal with! Which of course meant it made him a perfect tortured hero that I wanted to save. Good thing Polly was up to the task.

The conflict is character driven and effective. How Polly and Damon came to understand each other was a wonderful journey I enjoyed.

Doukakis’s Apprentice is exactly the kind of wonderful story that romance readers search for. It has humor, heart and well developed characters that touch a reader’s emotions. It entertains, is wonderfully paced and has vibrant and lively dialogue. Ms. Morgan delivered a happily ever after that has left me smiling long after I’ve turned the final page. What more can a reader wish?

One of the things I like most about The Hollow King are the interesting characters on the quest. Taraly is probably my favorite of the bunch. She is strong and loyal, but also young and impulsive. After the death of her father, Taraly is so determined to prove that she can be a great queen, that she makes some foolish decisions. Despite her rash behavior, I found her very easy to like. Though she is a woman, she fights as well as any man, and she’ll fight fiercely to defend those she cares about. I also liked that Taraly had a softer side to balance her character a bit. Once she begins the quest, Taraly begins to have feelings for Taigo. However, Taraly has never been in love before and is uncertain of her feelings or how to act on them. I certainly look forward to watching their relationship progress in future installments of the series.

Taigo is definitely a mysterious character. He’s the leader of the outsiders, misfits who are beings of magic and are generally shunned by humans. However, Taigo’s knowledge of the world of magic makes him a valuable asset on the quest. At first, Taigo seemed very reserved. I had a hard time discerning his personality. As the story progressed, Taigo gradually came out of his shell. Though humanity has hardly been kind to his people, Taigo is an honorable man determined to save the world from evil. That sort of integrity is very admirable. Taigo really shines when he is with Taraly. They bring out the best in each other. I loved watching them practicing sword play or engaging in flirtatious banter.

If I had to describe Sancha in one word, it would be dependable. After the loss of his father, Sancha is determined to rid the world of the evil creatures that killed his father. Though Sancha seems plain compared to the other characters on the quest, he is every bit as important. He is a skilled fighter and has the extra ability to communicate with animals. I especially enjoyed his humorous conversations with a wolfhound.

Jalie is the most enigmatic member of the group. She is the daughter of the oracle, so she knows certain things about the future, but cannot always reveal what she knows. I found it very hard to discern if Jalie was lying or simply leaving out some of the truth. Despite my unease about her character, I enjoyed watching Jalie and Sancha interact. The two have a budding romance that is very sweet to watch. However, Jalie’s secretive behavior weighs heavily on him. I have a feeling their romance is going to follow a rough road.

One of the things that set The Hollow King apart from other stories is that Ovezara is a truly interesting villainess. She is selfish, power hungry, and commits some truly terrible acts in the story, and yet, I found myself feeling sorry for her. Ovezara is not her own master. She is following the orders of a very evil man called Trelek who has abused her for most of her life. I can’t help but think that Ovezara would have chosen a different path for her life if Trelek hadn’t gotten a hold of her. I look forward to watching her character continue to develop in the next book in the series.

Ms. Romaney is also very adept at adding little twists into the plot. Just when I thought I had certain characters figured out, Ms. Romaney revealed a hidden relationship or bit of back story that would cast everything in a different light. These little surprises added a great deal of depth to an already interesting story.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Hollow King, but I must warn readers that this book ends at a pivotal moment that leaves readers hanging until the next book in the series comes out. I have become so wrapped up in the characters and their quest, that I’m eagerly anticipating the next installment. Readers who enjoy a great fantasy with a touch of romance won’t want to miss this book.

It doesn’t sound romantic but the hero and heroine have to battle such tremendous odds, the romance is in watching their love conquering all, despite the obstacles.

Ms. Palmer has established a reputation with the Feral Warriors series that not only includes a satisfying happily ever after, but graphic and horrendous descriptions that sear the senses and helps a reader identify with the horrors the main characters have to fight against. Ecstasy Untamed continues that tradition.

If a reader is a fan, then they’ll remember that Hawke was caught in a spirit trap in Rapture Untamed,. He didn’t escape unscathed and his issues that were hinted at in Hunger Untamed are brought to fruition in Ecstasy Untamed. For a first time reader jumping into the adventure, this book has no problems being a standalone. One thing the author has shown is a skill in recapping the vital parts of past stories that are relevant to the current tale without it ever being an info-dump. A reader will understand in essence, what happened to Hawke and what is happening now.

One thing a new reader cannot know is who Hookeye was. He was the bad guy in the previous book that was responsible for Hawke getting trapped in that spiritual wormhole in the first place. He was casting poisonous spells to suck them all into that sensory deprived space that tears the spirit animal out of the man. What this story does is reveal what the real agenda was and it’s both horrifying and exciting.

Ms. Palmer totally set me up. I was all excited when the new guys started showing up because the evil dude that is causing all the problems is getting smarter and smarter minions. The stakes are sky-high and every ally is needed. It’s more than the endorphins – it’s about feeling good but one need to understand that from uk viagra there are ways to increase your sex drive. The author also walked a fine line with keeping all the secondary characters on board. I enjoyed that aspect because of the sense of community and storyline continuation but she also was able to balance their presence to ensure that the relationship between Hawke and Faith was never diluted nor was my attention distracted. There was never any doubt that everything and anything that is said or done or described, happens to enhance the plot, and that the action and conflict revolved around the two main protagonists as it should.

This wasn’t an easy book for me to read. It’s dark, action filled, suspenseful and heroic. It didn’t leave me feeling down because the romance between Hawke and Faith is spectacular. So much wonderful sensual build-up, so much sharing of pain, of hope and character growth — there is not one aspect the author left untapped.

I strongly support the theme of ‘hope’ that I found in this story. What the eventual outcome of the evil plot is, the author is leading me on through each book as I make my way where she wants to lead before I can find out. One thing I do see is the evil machinations this time around having a good chance of boomeranging on the bad guys, giving the Feral warriors something they’ve not had for centuries. Just the thought of that possibility is enough to hook me with enthusiastic curiosity for the next installment. What is even better is the hint that another warrior is about to find true love and I knew it was coming. I knew it! This book confirmed it and it’s going to be so exciting. I’m sure it’s also going to be equally dark and challenging to read. The thing I’m almost afraid to ask Ms. Palmer is: “What dastardly conflict is she going to come up with to curl my hair this time?”

Ecstasy Untamed continues Ms. Palmer’s hair raising storytelling tradition of a well told romantic suspense between two strong individuals who bring out the best in each other in order to fight the worst that evil throws at them. I found it gripping, entertaining and a thrill ride from beginning to end. There is no way a reader can be unaffected by the drama and suspense that try to thwart Hawke and Faith’s happily ever after. It has a wonderful ending and it left me completely satisfied. This is a must read.

I was fascinated with the heroine that Ms. Draven created. It seems she explored the possible question of, “what kind of person would I be if I didn’t have all the baggage from my past?” Layla, the heroine, didn’t purposely pursue the answers to that question. How and why she did is intimately mixed up with the villain of the book.

Layla is a nice person. Too nice. By that I mean she is bland – not forceful or colorful. She’s numb to life and yet she knows there’s something out of reach, something missing and it’s driving her nuts that she can’t figure it out. She does the best that she can because she has a good heart. And after reading the book, it totally makes sense. Inside, the heroine really is a decent and giving person who longs for the dream of love, home and kids. A reader is in for a surprise when they find out what Layla is actually capable of. She ends up being a very sympathetic character and I cheered her on as she tried to thwart the destiny mapped out for her. When the heroine starts putting the pieces together, mixed with the person she was at the beginning of the book, get ready for a treat. She’s a tough cookie and will fight for what is important, no matter what. The person who inspired that keen sense of loyalty is the yummy hero, Ray.

Ray is an awesome character. He’s a military guy with a great record – to a point. His sense of duty, honor and integrity would normally be great qualities and they are. But they can and were used against him. He experienced horrible terrible things. Ms. Draven described a scene that would make anyone puke, not just the hero. Ms. Draven created a wonderful heartfelt final chapter that wowed me and made everything that came before more meaningful and special. It highlighted the fact that all the tragedies in the past paid the dues for the hope and optimism that now embrace Layla and Ray. Totally romantic.

Dark Sins and Desert Sands is a light in the darkness. Ms. Draven delivers a suspenseful emotionally packed romance layered with passion, heat and the power of true love. The story reaches into the depths of its characters and brings them to life, taking readers along for the ride. There’s drama, more twists than a pretzel and plenty of thrills and chills to satisfy readers of romantic suspense. The loving between Ray and Layla is potent and sensual, and their journey of love, though bumpy, is beautiful.

I understand there is to be one more book in the triad story series. I’m looking forward to seeing how Ms. Michaels takes a theme and weaves it into the lives of so many unique and fantastic characters. They draw you in, they make you fall in love, and you won’t want to put it down!

Often, the reader has more information than the main character; just enough, in fact, to make this all the scarier. Donovan has a wonderful ability to ratchet up the suspense from a creepy feeling all the way up to terror (and everywhere in between.) Her Biggest Fan will appeal to fans of the classic suspense/thriller for sure!

This is an exceptional combination of suspense and romance. Make this one a ‘Must read.’

Overall, this story is a thrill ride. One thing happens after another and I never knew which way it was going to go. The heroine gets freaky, the hero has a tail and the demon hunter gets beat up all the time. There are all manner of beasties chasing the heroine and surprises abound. And through it all, a love starts to grow and flourish amidst all the chaos and uncertainty. The flashbacks were an interesting touch because I got to see how it all started. The most amazing thing is how it showed a man whose heart was blackened by prejudice and fear and self-righteous murderous intent and followed him as he changed through the years to be a man that ultimately earned forgiveness. He was a pitiful character and towards the end, I actually did feel sorry for him. That’s a testimony to the skill of the author. If Ms. Colgan hadn’t done such a good job, I wouldn’t have cared. So that was a solid piece of writing.

Another thing that I completely enjoyed was Melodie and her dramatic statements. “Oh,no! I’m this or that” or “Oh, no! I must be one of these!” Every time she made these dire announcements I giggled and laughed. I thought she was adorable. My absolute favorite line comes from the beginning of the book. It tickled my funny bone so completely that I had to re-read it a few times. And I snickered at every one. “Melodie McConnell knew it was going to be a bad night when the antlers fell off her moose.” Right then, I was hooked. I had to read the rest of the book. And I did, all the way to the end, in one sitting. I wasn’t disappointed. Ms. Colgan created a heroine that is alternately, spunky, funny, steadfast and loyal. She handled hysteria well and when the effects of the magical influence was upon her, I enjoyed how the author wrote such a distinct personality difference to denote the before and after. Blake is the hero and he’s has a lot going for him and against him. The biggest negative is that he turns to stone when the sun comes up. Other than that, he’s a regular guy. He is earnest, tender and hubba hubba on a Harley Davidson. Not to mention, he knows how to use a sword to good effect. At first, he’s all business but slowly I saw him fall in love. I enjoyed watching how he grew as a character, ultimately putting Melodie before himself. There is no greater testament to love than a man being selfless for his woman. It’s a very suspenseful and dramatic scene when it all plays out. I respected him and I worried for him. Blake is a tortured hero with no end to his suffering in sight. The author had so many twists and turns up her sleeve, at one point I wasn’t sure it was going to be even possible to break the curse. That was another intense scene.

Secondary characters are few but extremely important and influential. Calypso and Palmer are great contributors to the suspense and action in the story. At one point, I thought they both were bad, then I wasn’t sure, and then I thought they were good. It was a bizarre roller coaster that the author put me through. Calypso and Palmer provided intense interest and were another reason that kept me invested in reading this book. They didn’t undermine the hero and heroine at all. In fact, they were necessary to the cataclysmic ending. Very intense.

There isn’t a true villain per se. It’s the curse and the domino affect it had over the centuries that is coming to a head at the point this book starts. The drama of running against the clock, of trying to survive and outwit the curse was enough of a conflict to carry the story without adding an actual bad guy. I consider that unique and very interesting.

Although the title claims ‘interview’, it was misleading. I equate that with interactions with the press and that doesn’t happen at all. Maybe seduction of a gargoyle might have been a better fit because when Blake and Melodie, the real Melodie, get together, it’s magic of the best kind.

Interview with a Gargoyle is a super amazing story with fascinating characters and a love between two kindred souls. The details were superb, the editing squeaky clean, and the dialogue brisk, entertaining and insightful to the characters. There is nothing I didn’t like about this book. It’s surprisingly fresh, innovative and just plain fun. There’s a happily ever after for Melodie and Blake but Ms. Colgan has also set the groundwork for another story. I can’t wait to add the next one to my pile of really cool books because this one certainly will be found there.

The elusive Scottish laird is always just on the outskirts watching the action and though his own happiness depends on the success of stealing one of the Cynster sister’s he soon realizes that another sister has slipped through his fingers. I think it’s pretty safe to say he won’t give up and I’m betting Angelica’s story is going to be the wildest ride yet.

If you missed the exciting adventure that started this amazing trilogy it’s not too late to go back and read Viscount Breckenridge to the Rescue. You won’t have to have read it to enjoy Eliza and Jeremy’s story but it does lend some history to the novel. Either way, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of In Pursuit of Eliza Cynster. The breathtaking scenery, clever dialogue and entertaining, imaginative characters will draw you in instantly and hold you captive until the last page.
