All that glitters is not gold. No-frills cowboy Evan learned that lesson the hard way while married to a rodeo princess, a relationship that was all flash and no substance. Suddenly everything is up in the air, and they have difficult choices to make about the rodeo, Cheyenne, and the romance they both want so badly to pursue.

Evan and Brooks follow the cowboy circuit and have done so for many years. Evan knows he doesn’t sparkle and shine anymore like he used to – but his best friend, Brooks, doesn’t seem to mind, nor does Evan’s young daughter, Chay. When Evan and Brooks cross over the line from best friends to lovers, can their relationship deepen and flourish?

I really enjoyed this story. I found it to be an emotional and fun-loving cowboy story, filled with the travelling life, good, solid friendships and a delicious romance. I really liked how the author didn’t shy away from the fall-out that the other cowboys felt when Evan and Brooks became an item. I also personally thought that the author did a great job of balancing things – the reactions weren’t over the top, but not glossed over either. I’ve found in other books this balance is often quite difficult to achieve and the author should be commended for her excellent story-telling.

The only slight disappointment I felt was that the conflict in the plotline felt very predictable to me. I knew almost from the beginning what it would entail – and how it would be resolved as well – and this was the only aspect of the story I didn’t thoroughly enjoy. I found Evan and Brooks’ relationship to progress well at a good pace – again, both believable in its realism and delightful to watch unfold. The sex was hot and I found it enjoyable and I feel that it was descriptive enough to appeal to erotica readers without being envelope pushing or need any real warnings to it.

Overall I found this a lovely and heart-warming story about a couple of cowboys finding a much deeper relationship with each other. With great secondary characters and a wonderfully happy ending this is a great, light and happy read. Recommended.

He gets in his car and drives south with no idea what he hopes to find. The flip of a coin leads him to a small town in Mississippi—practically a different world from the city where he grew up.

Police officer Billy Labarre keeps his sexuality mostly to himself, but he knows just what he needs to fill the hole in his quiet small-town life: the right man. Unfortunately attitudes toward gay men still leave a lot to be desired in the rural South, and it’s hard to meet someone. It’s not likely his perfect match is just going to show up out of the blue….

After the break up of his five-year relationship, Cal decides to just drive and get away from everything, to stretch his wings and see where he lands. In Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Billy is a police officer and more than interested when he first notices Cal. With all the hotels fully booked for the summer tourist season Billy takes a chance and offers Cal his spare room. Can this be the start of something longer than a summer fling?

I really enjoyed the slow paced, almost sweetly romantic feel to this story. Set in a small coastal town this lovely story read to me like an older fashioned story – one where the reader is really able to get to know the characters before they jump into bed. I really felt that all the sight-seeing and extended “getting to know you” period between Cal and Billy made it just that much hotter and more emotional when they finally did become intimate. I loved how the slower pace let me get attached and more comfortable with the characters – and the extensive cast of secondary characters – and this made the plotlines and story far richer for it.

I was a little nervous that the falling in love part of the story happened too quickly, though I must admit I was pleased that the speed wasn’t completely overlooked. Both Cal and Billy pondered about the speed with which they met, got to know each other then fell in love and this helped ease me a little. Instead of making me feel like it was some insta-love style of story the reflections and acknowledgement of the short timeframe made it seem more fate or just good fortune for the guys. I could understand if some readers, however, don’t feel quite the same as I did. For me personally though, I felt it was well handled and very emotionally written – even if it wasn’t particularly realistic.

A fun, lighthearted and very warm story, I loved the mixture of spicy M/M romance and erotic intimacy the author balanced with a really small-town feel of a story. I felt this was a lovely modern story and one I will happily indulge in many more times to come. A great, romantic read.

Luckily Darrell Anderson, a mechanic and the owner of the Prius, is more amused than offended, and the two men agree to meet. When they do, the attraction is instant, and a date is arranged. But a series of mishaps, misunderstandings, and misplaced assumptions sorely test the new relationship.

In a contemporary romantic comedy about the perils of technology and dating in the modern world, a text that went so wrong might just lead to something so right—but only if Clay can refrain from jumping to conclusions and give love the benefit of the doubt.

Texting “I saw your penis for sale on Craigslist. Is it still available?” is certainly one way to grab a man’s attention. When Clay accidently sends this text – autocorrect changing “Prius” to “Penis” – Darrell can see the humour in the situation. This leads to an amusing and wonderful new relationship between the two men – one that both hope will lead to something more.

After what I personally felt was a slow start, I found this to be a fun and very sexy story. Readers who like their romances to be eased into will likely enjoy this beginning. Darrell is a mechanic and Clay is a strong car aficionado. They have plenty in common along with a healthy amount of respect and desire for each other’s cars and bodies. The author, however, introduces both characters – and a few interesting secondary characters – quite solidly as individuals before Darrell and Clay even really meet. While I personally would have preferred them to meet slightly faster and have that extra time and space to read about them getting to know each other and date – I can’t completely fault the author for giving the story, and both Darrell and Clay’s characters a good, solid basis before moving the romance forward.

Once Darrell and Clay do manage to give the Prius a test drive the heat sizzling between them explodes and their romantic relationship really begins to flourish. I thoroughly enjoyed the sex and chemistry that grew in leaps and bounds between the two men. I also was delighted that Clay – a few noticeable years younger than Darrell – was the Top in their relationship. While not unheard of, it certainly isn’t a common aspect in M/M relationships that I’ve read and I was both surprised and thrilled by how much I enjoyed it. I also really liked the detail and depth the author took – really going into some of the layers that grew between Darrell and Clay. As the two men work out the newness of their relationship and ride through the various emotions they each bring out in each other I really felt this story didn’t gloss over or shy away from a number of aspects new relationships entail – as lots of other romance stories do. I found the BDSM to be incredibly mild – more a matter of Clay wanting to be in charge sexually than actual whips-and-chains type of kink or the harder side of the BDSM lifestyle. I feel most readers happy with an erotic M/M storyline with explicit sex shouldn’t find the BDSM aspects of the story to be hard-core or shocking.

Two of the secondary characters showed the potential in my opinion to become a sequel and I certainly plan to keep an eye out for more stories by this author. This was a fun, lighthearted and car-savvy story with a hint of spice and was a brilliant way to spend the weekend. A great read and one I will enjoy again in the future.

Marcus Sadir loves Hunter Dixon, yet can’t be the one thing Hunter truly desires: a sub to control. And Hunter can’t find satisfaction in the sadistic aspects of the BDSM lifestyle, while Marcus thrives on inflicting and sharing pain. When Marcus convinces Hunter they should find a third on a permanent basis, they discover Orion might be the key to bridging their differences and joining them on a deeper level.

But they must help Orion move past his trauma enough for him to enjoy new facets of BDSM and kink again. Their journey toward becoming whole—together—won’t be without challenges. Can Orion trust enough to try again?

Orion loved to play in the lifestyle and play hard. That is until one careless excuse for a Dom took it all away from him. Believing that he could trust the man Orion played without a safe word and let the Dom continue to play harder and harder until the day came that he played too hard. Orion awoke to find himself robbed of not only his dignity but his safety as well. He has tried numerous times to trust other Doms and get back into the lifestyle but each attempt has failed. When Hunter and Marcus enter the picture, Orion is more than conflicted. He longs to belong to the two men but his fear is still a wall to get past and Orion doubts he will ever get past it.

This is a great story full of well-rounded characters who are full of emotions. I loved each and every character in it. Orion is a sweet guy who has gone through a rough time and suffered some trauma yet he is trying his best to overcome it all.

Marcus and Hunter are great men who love each other and even if they are both Dominant men they make it work. Adding Orion to the mix helps balance them all. I enjoyed watching their relationship take shape. Marcus and Hunter are both attracted to Orion and are open and honest with him no matter what. Giving Orion a safe place to try again. The love that the two men have together is beautiful and seeing them want to share that with Orion made for a wonderful read. The men are understanding and let the relationship move at its own pace allowing friendship turn into more. I liked that readers got to see a good balance of Orion and his men together and apart. Seeing into each other’s personal lives made for a far more interesting read and that much sweeter when they finally find their way. Plus, we get to see their personalities shine through out their story.

It was nice to see the camaraderie in this book. From the friendships to the relationships everyone stands by each other and is always ready to help. Not only did I enjoy Orion’s story but I also enjoyed getting a look at the other couples in this story and hope that we get their stories as well.

This is a lovely, fun story that I really enjoyed. While Drew and Josh’s relationship started out quite rocky I loved watching it flourish and grow as the story progressed. Both Drew and Josh have plenty of their own problems, but once they finally relax in each other’s company they become first friends and then so much more. I found this a real pleasure to read.

While their relationship is certainly front-and-center of the story, I also appreciated that the plot was not simply a quick and unimportant thing. Josh’s problems with his fellow police officers and Drew’s stress about his new book were both handled very well I thought – and weren’t simply an after-thought and shoved in idly at the start and end to make the book feel as though it had some semblance of a plot. I enjoyed how while yes, their relationship was the main thrust of the story, the two plots around each man were evenly and consistently brought up all through the story giving it the feel of a good flow and excellent pacing.

A fun and lighthearted story this has an excellent and thorough plot and a bunch of wonderful characters. Sexy and hot but equal parts interesting and intense, this is a great M/M that I feel many readers will totally enjoy.

Spanning the six years before the events of Talking in Code, this collection of short stories recounts highlights of how Richard, Tim, and Eric fell in love—and into bed. These seven tales reveal the early adventures of the two former Navy SEALs, an expert sniper, and their paramilitary organization, Strike Force Omega. Between dangerous missions and their aftermath, the three men find time to explore the limits of their relationship and what it might become, whether it’s blistering physical passion or something with the potential to run much deeper—something that will see them through their most difficult battles.

While this is a collection of short stories acting as a prequel to a far longer novel, I was delighted that I could pick this up cold (I’ve not read the full length story) and thoroughly enjoy the coming together of these three men. Richard and Tim are a long-standing, fully committed couple of ex SEALs who now have their own business. Erik is a younger man who has worked hard to get where he has, and loves his job working for Richard and Tim. I really enjoyed seeing Richard and Tim talk about, and then extend their relationship to include Erik and watching the highly erotic, intense fall-out from all their fantasies coming true.

The only real criticism I felt was the collection felt a little choppy to me. I didn’t feel like this was a collection of ultra-short stories, even though each chapter had a different name titling it. I felt there was enough coherence in showing the three men coming together it could have stood just as a single short story. Having said that, each chapter jumped a little bit and it took me a moment to bridge mentally each gap. This choppiness and slight confusion on my part didn’t really effect my enjoyment of the story unfolding and once the three men hit the sheets together everything else flew out the window and I simply sat back and really enjoyed the show.

Readers should also be aware this short story definitely ends on a cliffhanger – one I assume leads directly in to the main story (“Talking In Code”). I know it certainly got me interested in seeing how these three men come together and solidify their ménage. Hot and sexy, this was a delightful short story and a good, quick read.

After crashing his car when a moose jumped out unexpectedly at him, Gideon Joy was pretty sure he was the most unlucky of men. Thankfully, fellow dinted-car-goer, Silas, turned out to be a decent guy and gave Gideon a lift to the nearest “town”. Needing to stay and earn some money for Silas’ repairs, Gideon is about to find that his life had taken on a complete turn-around.

This is a fun short story told in the first-person perspective from Gideon. While it’s clear that Silas is to be our hero’s hero and love interest, reading everything purely from Gideon’s perspective meant it took a little while for me to really thoroughly warm up to Silas. Silas is the strong, silent, mountain-man style of character and so not being able to see his perspective – while keeping me guessing and eagerly turning pages – did mean the romance unraveled a little more slowly than I’m used to in an erotic romance. Also, while I appreciated Gideon’s humorous inner thoughts, it made this feel more like a lighthearted romantic comedy – rather than the erotic M/M I was expecting to read. While I loved the voice and tone of the story, it took me a chapter or two to change my preconceived expectations on the story itself, relax and really start to laugh and enjoy the story for what it was.

I really feel it’s important to note that there isn’t any explicit sex at all in this story. There are a few kisses and a little hand-holding – but as I was expecting this to be an erotic romance it was fairly surprising to me that there was no sexual intimacy and nothing that I found at all explicit in the whole story. I personally don’t feel the story is lacking for this – there’s plenty of chemistry between Silas and Gideon – but readers expecting or wanting a spicy/erotic story might not find this satisfies them. That said, I loved the author’s voice and readers happy with a fun, light and humorous small-town M/M story should find this lovely. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the story, as well as the strong cast of secondary characters from the small town. This helped give the book a vibrant feeling to me and also made the whole story feel homey and warm.

A romantic and happy short story, this is a fun book with great characters and plenty of laughs.

The two men must work together to find the balance that brings them each the most satisfaction and happiness.

Neal and Way are working on their relationship. It’s still quite new and they each have a lot to learn – and explore – about each other. Can they build on their relationship together?

While this book is the fifth related to the Iron Eagle gym, it follows very close on the heels of “The Closet Boy” which is the beginning of Neal and Way’ra’s relationship. While I feel that it can certainly be read as a great BDSM M/M romance by itself, I would recommend that readers catch up on “The Closet Boy” for a deeper understand of exactly how Way and Neal get to where they open up at the start of this book. I’ve greatly enjoyed all the other books in the Iron Eagle Gym series too – and they’re all worth picking up on their own merits, but this story really does round out and completes the relationship started in The Closet Boy.

Neal is exceptionally new to the entire scenario of the BDSM world. In some respects this would be a very good story for a beginner to read. A lot of the mechanics of how various BDSM relationships work is explained to Way in detail. There’s also a lot of discussion between Neal and Way as they communicate their thoughts and desires to each other as they build their own relationship up together. Way is very much a novice, and while I think readers unsure or new to the lifestyle will thoroughly enjoy having everything explained to them, I have to admit I was personally quite impatient to get to Neal and Way finding their own path and growing together. I have to admit though I really feel this is an exceptional “explaining” style of story and this is exactly the story of writing and tale I craved when the scene was new to me and I didn’t understand half of what I read.

Most of the elements are fairly standard to a BDSM relationship – boundaries, slit play, piercings etc – but I felt that something about the way this was so new and fresh for Way helped breathe new life into it. Neal loved teaching Way, and seeing how new and awesome the various aspects of the lifestyle was to Way helped make this story feel really fresh and exciting to me. I really enjoyed how Neal and Way are totally committed to each other, but there is a strong cast of recurring secondary characters (from the previous books) who also play an important part. They’re all friends and support each other. While there are a few group scenes everyone remains with their respective partners. While I labeled it as “Multiple Partners” it’s more they share their sexuality in the same room and share their experiences – but don’t actually swap partners.

I found this to be a wonderful story, full of the joy and excitement a fresh new relationship can bring. With plenty of spice and naughty sex this book pretty much has something for everyone. A great story.

The writing captivated me and I wanted to know how this person, Bobby, could exist where he did in the conditions he did. I was certainly drawn in.

I liked Oakley, too. Bobby’s initial reaction to him amused me. “What kind of name is Oakley?” It’s a very young person thing to say. But I liked Bobby and Oakley both. Oakley has been hit hard by the passing of his sister. He’s dealing with the remorse of living while she isn’t and feeling he’s not reacting correctly. He’s very human in his reactions and I wanted to hug the poor guy.

This isn’t a super hot story from a sex scene point of view and that’s fine. It worked for me and the story.  If you want a short story that you won’t soon forget, one with heart and remarkable characters, then this might be the one for you.

Rusty is a big-wig advertising executive. He and his best friend and photographer, Tyler are heading to the Balloon festival to get some amazing promotional pictures. While there, Rusty meets Chad – a seriously hunky Balloon owner. Can these two men find the perfect lift off together?

This is a fun and short story that I found wonderful, lighthearted and deliciously romantic. I loved watching Rusty and Chad get to know each other and start their lovely relationship. Even though the two men come from pretty different worlds, they clicked together immediately and had good chemistry. I found their romance believable and enjoyed watching them come together.

I also enjoyed the strong cast of secondary characters. Tyler was fun loving and a bit of a scamp, and even Rosie and Chad’s other helpers all seemed to make the story feel more well-rounded to me, not just thrown in casually to pad out the list of people populating the story. I felt each character had a proper purpose and helped highlight Chad and Rusty’s growing relationship.

While the sex was well written and spicy, I didn’t feel it pushed the envelope too much and it wasn’t as prominent as it often is in erotic romance stories these days. I actually enjoyed the fact the story seemed to focus more on the characters and the relationship growing between Chad and Rusty and didn’t miss that the sex didn’t have as much zing as you can often find. Other readers might not feel the same, but to me I enjoyed the stronger focus being on the men and their characters. This would be a good story for readers who don’t mind M/M storylines and aren’t looking for too much spicy sex with their romance.

A fun, light and happy short story that I feel lots of people will enjoy.
