Six months ago, Siobhan Cantrell’s world was changed forever by a sniper’s bullet. The incident transformed her from a secure confident woman to a recluse, afraid to leave her own home. When her friends urge her to re-enter the world of the living, they suggest Madame Eve’s 1Night Stand dating service. Nervous, she signs up and learns the company is renown for in-depth background checks and safe encounters. So, how dangerous could it be?

Sergeant Bobby Martin has witnessed Madame Eve’s magic firsthand. His teammate found true love through her service. Still a skeptic but giving in to peer pressure, the Air Force Pararescueman signs himself up. When he meets Siobhan, his doubts fly out the window—unfortunately bullets start flying in them. Determined to protect her from a sniper that won’t give up, Bobby vows to keep her safe. As their chemistry ramps up, so does the sniper’s attempts.

Can Bobby keep Siobhan alive, or will the killer catch them in his sights?

A once in a lifetime dream date turns into a nightmare in seconds. This is the premise of In My Sights.

Sergeant Bobby Martin is a member of the pararescuemen who’s trying to get past an infatuation with the woman who just married one of his buddies. What he soon realizes is it’s not the woman he wants, but the commitment. He’s had enough of the ‘love ’em and leave ’em’ lifestyle and would like to find a woman he can settle down with. Unfortunately, he feels he may have lost his opportunity. With the insistence of his teammates, however, he signs up for a 1Night Stand, figuring he has nothing to lose by trying.

Siobhan Cantrell is a beautiful young woman who is trying her best to piece her life back together after being the victim of an awful shooting that took the lives of her brother, best friend and boyfriend. She’d been injured by the bullet, but the shooter took much more from her. Finally gathering her courage, she asked Madame Eve to find her a man in order to take back her security.

What neither of them knows is that the shooter has not given up looking for Siobhan.

There is so much packed into these few short pages. I loved this story. The hero is your typical alpha male: strong, brave and determined to protect his woman. Siobhan has been a victim, but refuses to allow a tragedy to define her. She’s fighting back, and once she realizes who Bobby is, she begins to think perhaps he’s the man who can help her find herself.

Once they realize the shooter has not given up, Bobby’s protective mode kicks in. There’s nothing hotter than a man protecting his woman, but I loved that Siobhan didn’t cower in the corner. She was just as strong, determining her own fate.

I only had one issue with the story, and that was the mystery aspect didn’t seem to be fully resolved by the end of the book. 1Night Stand characters typically don’t continue, book to book, so I’m wondering if we will ever find the answers this story didn’t clearly define. I’m glad we got our happily ever after, though.

If you like a steamy romance between two strong characters, mixed with a little suspense, this is absolutely one to pick up!

The two were rivals, making a relationship between them impossible. Or was it?

This story had many things I liked: excellent pacing, steamy sex, an air of mystery, and a palpable connection between well-defined characters. Much was packed into a few short pages. Not too complicated, it was easy to follow and had a satisfying, happy ending.

That said, in some parts it was a little too simplistic. There were only a few characters introduced, so figuring out the cause of the mysterious noises outside the cottage was not difficult. Since the mystery was not the focus of the book, however, it was only a minor disappointment. The love story between Aiden and Rachel was front and center, and definitely kept me rooting for them from the very start.

The author does a very nice job painting a picture with her words. She’s able to pull the reader into the story, making it feel as if I was a silent observer in the room while the action happened. If you’re interested in reading how two people who should be adversaries, yet cannot fight their attraction, this is one to pick up!

With a name like hers, Indiana Jones knows she ought to be adventurous and daring, but when she’s tricked into taking a vacation on her own and discovers she’s staying at a swinging resort, she wants to spend the week in her room. But the place is run by two of the most tempting men she’s ever seen. She could have just what she wants and no one would ever know.

Marc finds it hard to see his partner Kyle in physical and mental anguish, but if the guy won’t talk about it, what can he do? Finding a third might be the answer, and he has just the woman in mind, unless she runs off before he can make her smile.

Crippled and depressed, Kyle can’t even kiss his partner and wonders why the guy puts up with him. If only he could let the past go and move on. Maybe, just maybe, an intriguing guest will show him the way.

A week in paradise with no expectations, no judgments and no rules. Would you be brave enough to let loose?

Indiana Jones (yes, that’s her name), also known as Indie, is visiting Orlando for the vacation of a lifetime. She’d expected to travel with her best friend, Lisa, but when she arrived at her hotel found out Lisa had tricked her. Lisa had set up Indie’s time at Heden, a clothes-optional, anything goes resort, to help her avoid the depression that would otherwise accompany Indie’s Christmas.

Heden is run by Marc and Kyle. They are lovers, but each is interested in finding a third to balance out their needs. While Marc likes to hit on every woman he sees, Kyle is much more selective since a mysterious accident that changed his life. Indie, however, attracts the attention of both men.

I liked all three characters. Indie wanted to cut loose, but was afraid to take the step. Kyle had been traumatized and was afraid to open up. Marc was in love with Kyle and is frustrated that Kyle either doesn’t or won’t return his affection. Each story is good in itself, but put together, it seemed to be a bit too much in the limited pages. Balancing emotion and sex between three people can be a difficult task. In this case, the sex is steamy and all three are a perfect physical fit. The emotion, however, is lacking.

We’re introduced to the relationship between Marc and Kyle, but I felt something (beyond a woman) was lacking between them. Marc’s head was turned immediately by Indie, and it almost seemed he ditched Kyle to chase after her. Meanwhile, Kyle had a hidden secret, keeping him from opening himself fully, that he would not share with Marc. It made me feel the two really didn’t belong together or that they weren’t very close because those are the types of things shared between lovers. Kyle felt comfortable sharing with Indie, however. Why open up to a virtual stranger but not your lover?

After being initially afraid of her risqué environment, Indie opened very quickly and expressed her desire to participate in a ménage with both Marc and Kyle. Hiding a secret herself, she finally opened up to them and explained her resentment of the Christmas holiday. Although things were resolved, it felt like perhaps they were resolved a little too easily.

When it comes to a love story, this one doesn’t quite get there, but if you’re looking for a hot sex story, this will absolutely hit the spot.

I enjoyed her secondary characters as well and even found myself wishing to see a follow-up on Christa’s brothers and their love stories. I love that they had many insecurities, making them appear human and life-like.

Turning down a billet at Mike’s Place in Dallas, Sergeant A.J. Turner left Iraq for Freewill, Wyoming with one goal in mind—to forget the last five years. Trading his MARPATS for jeans and his cover for a cowboy hat, he plans to work his ranch and pray the green grass, tall trees, and sweet mountains can wash away the taste of the desert.

The last thing he expected was a reminder of a promise made to his buddies: one night to help them all start again.

Sheri Vaughn quit her corporate job, sold her house and moved to Freewill on a whim. Six months after her divorce, she’s hardly ready to put her toe in the dating waters again. One bottle of wine later, however, she signs up for Madame Eve’s exclusive 1Night Stand service and lists a very particular set of qualities she wants in a man; he must be honorable, courageous, forthright, single, have served as Marine, but be a cowboy at heart. If she wants to dream, at least she can dream big.

But when local hero A.J. Turner arrives home, Madame Eve comes through, and Sheri has to find the courage to make her dream a reality…

Two of the sexiest male stereotypes come together for one hot story. Cowboys and Military Men. This is the premise of The Marine Cowboy.

A.J. Turner is fresh from battle and has just returned to his hometown of Freewill, Wyoming. After agreeing to a pact with his buddies, he signs up for Madame Eve’s 1Night Stand Service and then promptly forgets about it. He shuts off his phone and buries it in a drawer, looking forward to the hard work and peaceful life his family ranch can provide. A brief encounter with the town librarian is the only thing distracting him from his tranquility, until the local postman brings him a message from his former commander, instructing him to turn his phone back on. A.J.’s date has been arranged, and he has little time to prepare.

Sheri Vaughn moved to Freewill over the winter in order to start a new life. Divorced from a serial cheater, she signs up for the 1Night Stand Service in hopes of meeting her dream man, but her demands are very specific. She wants a Marine Cowboy, and nothing less will do. When her fantasy walks into the cafe before her very eyes, she thinks he may be too good to be true. Thanks to Madame Eve, however, she’ll have her opportunity to find out.

The chemistry with these two characters was instant. Ms. Long does a wonderful job with dialogue, and I could picture the southern drawl coming from A.J.’s lips, endearing him even more than he already had. A.J.s confidence, mixed with Sheri’s romantic dreaminess was a winning combination. No doubt these two belonged together. The hot sex that followed their meeting was just an added bonus!

Two very minor complaints about the story – although I hesitate to use the word complaints because the story is wonderful. The first is the feeling that these two would have met and hit it off even without Madame Eve. Watching A.J. approach Sheri to ask her out would have been fun in any situation. The second is the abrupt ending. I know the 1Night Stand stories are limited to only one night, but an epilogue with an update as to how they’re doing would have been nice-mainly because I wanted more time with these two! They were too much fun!

The Always a Marine series by Heather Long is worth the time, and The Marine Cowboy is definitely no exception. These are all worth picking up and are super hot reads!

At the end of their night of frenzied passion, Jazz Winters walked away from the only two men who’d ever made her feel like a woman. Logan Cavanaugh and Zach Evans let her go, but only if she swore all her future leaves to them. For fourteen, excruciatingly long months, they’ve waited for her, visiting when they could, but the demands of Mike’s Place only let them go one at a time.

Jazz’s fear that a ménage can’t last a lifetime is founded in her very middle-class, middle-American upbringing. The stress of years of military service in hot zones, combined with life-threatening injuries, pushes her to the edge. When she comes home, she’s the wounded warrior, not the woman she thinks they want. But Zach and Logan are right there to help her, even when she resists.

She’s not alone. And whether she chooses one man or both, they have no regrets and they won’t surrender.

Madame Eve set them up for a night of ecstasy, but can three Marines turn one night into a lifetime?

We were introduced to Jazz, Logan and Zach in Retreat, Hell! She just got here! and I fell in love with them right away. Each has their vulnerabilities, as well as their determinations, and their rendezvous was believable and felt very natural.

When I found out there was a longer story involving these three, I jumped at the chance to read it. I love the 1Night Stand series, but each story leaves me wanting more. I was so anxious, in fact, that I did not read the blurb accompanying the book, so I went in with absolutely no expectations. The story was not what I expected.

The three main characters do not disappoint. I still love Jazz, Logan and Zach as much in this tale as in the original. The story is well written, and the changes of points of view helps the reader to connect to all the parties involved. There are two things, however, that keep me from loving this book as much as the first.

Jazz, unfortunately, suffers a traumatic brain injury. My heart bled for Jazz, and the way the author wrote in her point of view – the confusion, repetition, and disorientation – makes the reader appreciate how difficult a time she’s going through. The men were not as sympathetic. Since Logan had also been injured in combat, I had hoped we’d see him help Jazz acclimate using his own experiences. In the same respect, Zach had held Logan’s hand during recovery. He could have added another dimension to the healing process. Instead, it seemed both men had to struggle with their feelings of lust as opposed to their sympathy. I know they had a rather heated sexual relationship, but to believe their feelings went deeper was difficult when their main focus was on how Jazz looked or felt – or how hard she made them. I do believe they loved her, I just wish we would have seen more of the rehab process instead of just the sex.

A lifetime relationship – marriage included – is very difficult to picture with three people. Since both Logan and Jazz have similar battle experiences, including life-altering injuries, they seemed suited to continue a long-term relationship. Added to that, there is a lengthy love scene with only Logan and Jazz, and I ended up thinking Zach was somewhat odd-man out. In a world where the norm is two people, there needed to be more explanation or justification of why these three felt they could sustain for the long haul, despite admitted feelings of jealousy or exclusion.

Regardless of these two objections, I did enjoy spending more time with these three characters, and if they are happy, then I am happy. If you liked Ms. Long’s first foray with Logan, Zach and Jazz, you will definitely want to revisit them in this book!

What’s the perfect gift to give to the attendants of your wedding? Well, when you met by way of Madame Eve’s 1Night Stand Service, the answer to that question is easy. You give them the opportunity to meet the perfect partner by arranging a 1Night Stand of their own. But you know what they say about the best laid plans…

Julia and Mark, both of whom were introduced in an earlier tale, are heading to Vegas to get married. Their maid of honor, Julia’s cousin Karin, and best man, Mark’s brother Ray, are among the various family members in attendance. Because of the success of Madame Eve’s pairing of Julia and Mark, they arrange a date for Karin and one for Ray. Each are to contact the service for details after the rehearsal dinner. Karin and Ray, feeling a spark between them, instead follow their own path.

This story was a little different than other 1Night Stands in the series, in that we get a glimpse of what life is like for Julia and Mark before being introduced to the focus couple. For those who read the first book, The Virgin and The Playboy, this will be welcomed. I had not read the first story, but after a glimpse and reading the story of Karin and Ray, I’ll certainly look into it!

There was little in this book I didn’t like. The characters were well defined, the setting was described wonderfully, and the attraction between Karin and Ray was palpable. In a few short pages, the Ms. Richards takes us from initial meeting to blossoming love, and I enjoyed every minute. The sex was hot, and I especially enjoyed the way she allowed us into the thoughts of each character-sometimes switching point of view in the middle of a pivotal moment. It drew me into the scenes as if I was a bystander in the room.

There were only two minor items that kept this story from scoring a perfect 5 stars. One, was a handful of editing errors, including a missing word (and I’d still like to know what the author intended to say). The other was an unanswered question. I don’t believe it’s a spoiler to say the maid of honor and best man spend the evening together, but we never got resolution of the 1Night Stand date. Each was supposed to be set up with someone, but neither chose to make the call for arrangements. Who were they supposed to meet? I was expecting one, or both, to contact Madame Eve, only to find out the person they were with was their chosen date, but it didn’t happen. So what happened to their dates? Madame Eve may not have been directly responsible for this matchup, but it certainly didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the story!

I’m a huge fan of the 1Night Stand Series, and this installment was no exception. For a quick, hot, entertaining read, pick up The Virgin and The Best Man. You won’t be disappointed.

Everyone has that special someone who raises the bar. For Kayleigh, that just happens to be one seriously sexy Spaniard!

This story is part of the Edge Erotica Series. Its a quick read but certainly packs a punch in the steamy department. Luciano was lovely. All coffee-colored skin, and chocolate eyes. I enjoyed how he was described as lean and tall and not over-stuffed with muscles, a nice change in this type of book. By the time I reached the end I could see where the book got its title from – he would have raised my bar too!

I read this on my coffee break, and by the time I had to go back to work, I wasn’t just hot from the steaming mug in my hand! The pages burned up with bedroom action, and it wasn’t all vanilla, there was a nice little kink too.

So, in summary, if, like me, you enjoy escaping the monotony of the office for fifteen minutes and finding a quiet corner with your Kindle for some down and dirty reading, then Raising the Bar is a book for you. Add in luscious Luciano, and what’s not to enjoy?

When sabotage strikes their fellow breweries, they unite to solve the mysteries. But fate and rumors brew more than beer as love, lust, jealousy, and misunderstanding collide in a way neither could have expected or anticipated.

Can they overcome the malicious chatter long enough to explore the emotion bubbling beneath the surface? Or will lust fall flat and leave them nothing but memories of the moment that slipped away?

Jen Baxter’s brewery has made a new product, Cheeky Blonde, an Imperial pale ale. At the coming out party during the National Beer festival Jen meets Sean Garrison who owns a rival brewery. Even though Jen and Sean initially barely exchange more than a dozen words she’s left with a powerful craving for him she can’t deny. When he searches her out after the party the simmering passion explodes. Their impulsive action sends shockwaves not only through the media – who are covering the conference/festivities – but also through their businesses.

This is a fast paced sexy romp of a book. Revolving around breweries, business competition and the media attention that can surround them, I found the plot different and interesting to read. The chemistry between Jen and Sean is hot and sucks you in immediately. Sean is not your typical alpha-male, though he is determined to have his cake and eat it too. Sean’s character is delightfully complex and not entirely what we’re first led to believe. Jen is more than a match for him in many respects. These two butt heads and still manage to burn up the sheets, not something that is always balanced properly, but it shines in this book.

There’s a strong cast of secondary characters, and a few sub-plots intertwined around this. Most noteworthy is Sean’s bitchy ex-wife who is a bucket load of trouble, Sean’s twin brother, Liam and Jen’s brewery partner and off-again/on-again bed buddy, Dylan. I particularly liked Dylan, who was really well rounded and a truly intriguing character. I’d love to read his story in the future. I really enjoyed reading this book and would certainly read other pieces by Ms. Crowe.
