Sexy is cute. Sexy has ‘tude. What Sexy doesn’t have is his comfortable home and his well trained human servants to care for him. He’s completely unimpressed with the fancy condo and his caretaker Sandy.

Good thing Sexy knows just the guy to help straighten out this mess – Kirk. Maybe Sexy can show the grumpy Kirk that stargazing is better with a partner. Can the crazy dachshund bring these two humans together?

Sandy is trying to take care of a failed-foster dachshund, Sexy. In way over her head, her cousin recommends Sandy consult with Kirk, who lives in a remote cabin in the woods and takes care of rescue dogs. Can Sexy keep them both in line, or will they all let their insecurities ruin something special?

I found this a fast paced and fun read. I personally felt that Sandy and Kirk jumped into bed a little quickly – but for the short length of the story I could understand that neither could really drag their feet too long. Readers who like a slower build up or longer drop from interest into intimacy might find this was a little too quick for their specific tastes. That said, the connection and chemistry between Sandy and Kirk was quite intense and I found it mostly believable, especially with Sexy the Dachshund to help grease the wheels between them.

I was pretty pleased that the pace of the relationship between Sandy and Kirk slowed a little once they were intimate, I found it really helpful to see them doing more emotionally based, “relationship” types of things like spending regular time together and getting to know each other. This really helped sell me on their long term compatibility and helped me see them better both as characters and as a team working together. While the order of Kirk and Sandy’s relationship was a little muddled for my liking, I really ended up caring deeply for them both – and Sexy – and being heavily invested in their long term compatibility.

Readers looking for a fun, sexy and quick paced story should find this is a lovely and short read.

Lauren is returning to the only home she has, and to her very special antique motorcycle, Jake. Little does she know Jake is even more special than Lauren could have believed, Jake might be a motorbike, but he can shapeshift into a man – and as a man he’s determined to teach Lauren to love herself – and also him.

I was deeply intrigued by this slightly different Paranormal/shapeshifter style of story. I loved the idea of a man/bike crossover and found was intrigued enough to pick up this story and the first in the series as well. While I feel most readers will need to suspend a fair bit of disbelief at the very beginning – I don’t know many women who could calmly discuss the logistics of having witnessed an expensive motorcycle changing into a sexy man before their eyes, and mere minutes later blindly accept it was just fine – aside from this small blip I found the whole premise of the plot delightful and a lot of fun. The attraction and chemistry between Jake and Lauren was solid and steamy, and I did adore how Jake in bike form was more than compelling and in control of his and Lauren’s late night rides around the streets. There’s definitely something sexy about a gorgeous bike and I could well understand Lauren’s insta-lust.

I thought the plot surrounding Lauren’s crazy ex-boyfriend was interesting though a little over the top. It was definitely a good counterpart to the blossoming romance between Lauren and Jake though and helped keep the story decently balanced. While most of the plot threads were well tied together I thought there was definitely room left for more details to be fleshed out in potential future books. The ending clearly showed this was the start of a longer series and what I suspect is a multi-book arc which could prove very interesting.

Readers looking for a fun and sexy, slightly different paranormal romance should find this a steamy and interesting story that can easily be read as a stand alone.

Claire is a rich CEO and she’s not afraid to spend her money for something she truly desires – like a super-rare motorbike of her dreams. The million dollars she dropped on the machine was cheap for her at the price. Only Claire had no idea the bike was even more special than she could believe. It’s sentient and can change into a human man – one who is here to love and heal Claire and start a whole new aspect to her life, one that involved them being together, forever.

I found the power dynamic between Claire and Will really interesting. On the one hand Will is a paranormal being – a powerful motorcycle that can shapeshift into a physically powerful man, but then Claire is an extremely strong and powerful CEO, more than used to having her own way and charting her own course. They are very different people in nearly opposite ways of life but add in the intensity of their sexual chemistry and their slow opening to each other and they became a formidable couple. I found this dynamic – and the unfurling of their blossoming relationship – to be really interesting and different to read. It was quite unique to me, and I feel lots of other readers likely won’t have come across something like this either.

I admit I felt that the ending to this story felt a little rushed. There was a delightful build up to the final confrontation scene, and a few home-truths exposed for both Claire and Will, but the actual conclusion to their fight and reconciliation felt a little hurried at pat to me. I’m not sure if this was because of a word-limit or restriction imposed on the author, but for such a well-paced story and what I felt was an excellent build up to this final scene, it fell just a little flat to me and left me not as satisfied as I had hoped.

Sexy and sensual, this was a really interesting and unique story that I felt showed an excellent power dynamic between the hard-core CEO and a supernaturally powerful machine/man. With plenty of baggage and hurt on both their parts, this was an interesting and vibrant read. I was pleased to find it was the first in a series and I’m eagerly looking forward to the next.

Galvin has always idolized Spike Radcliff, but the idea of actually meeting him face-to-face is overwhelming. Furthermore, despite the sensitivity of his prose, Spike has a reputation for being a surly, reclusive misanthrope. Still, Galvin knows he can’t pass up this rare chance.

After the disastrous interview, Spike surprises Galvin by offering him a job as his assistant. As they spend more time together, Galvin discovers that beneath the harsh exterior is a complex, broken man… one with whom he’s quickly falling in love.

Galvin has been a longtime fan of the author Spike Radcliff, so when Galvin is given the journalistic opportunity to interview Spike he knows he should be thrilled – but he is equal parts terrified. While the interview begins in an even more disastrous way than Galvin could have imagined, he is shocked when Spike offers him a job as Spike’s assistant. Can these two men look below the surface and see what’s truly happening between them?

I really enjoyed this lovely story. While Galvin has some serious problems, he’s still standing strong, still doing the best he can and functioning each and every day – despite what it costs him. I really empathized with this strong but fragile character and almost immediately started to hope his long-held dreams of finding someone who was strong enough to hold and love him, to help him feel wanted and safe, would soon come to pass. I feel Galvin’s character was totally relatable and should appeal to a very wide range of readers and I was hooked on him from almost the first page.

Spike’s character initially comes across as a mish-mash of a few different elements, and so I found it really interesting as we, along with Galvin, sorted through all the various layers to try and understand what was really going on with Spike. Much of the story revolves around these two men learning about each other and through their interactions learning stuff about themselves too. While the attraction between them is present from the start, it’s a very slow simmer as both men have some significant wounds and baggage of their own and I felt this slow, cautious approach to a more intimate relationship really suited the characters, where they were, and it made the whole situation healthier and more realistic to my mind. This is the first book in a series (Bound By Words) and I’d be interested to see if these sorts of themes are carried through into the next books later in the series.

Readers who enjoy the sort of hurt/comfort style of stories should find this really clicks for them and I absolutely loved the emotion and rawness to a number of the scenes. There is quite a bit of chemistry and sizzle between Spike and Galvin, but no physical intimacy until towards the end of the story – so readers looking for something heavily erotic (in a physical and not emotional/chemistry sort of style) might not that this fulfils that expectation. But readers who really enjoy a story of two men coming together and helping to heal and uplift each other while finding a deep, emotional connection and building a strong foundation for a wonderful relationship should absolutely enjoy this story as much as I did.

Rachel isn’t the best or the brightest witch, but she does her best. Her days are dull, but her nightly dreams are filled with the gorgeous vampire Gavin. When she decides to change things for herself, she puts her Christmas wish out into the universe and requests that Santa bring her vampire lover to her. Gavin, as a vampire, longs to be free of the constraints of his nature. He does have feelings for Rachel, but he doesn’t feel like he has anything to offer her. After Rachel’s Christmas wish ends up bringing the lovers together, will everything work out for them in the end?

There isn’t a lot of worldbuilding in this story, but I don’t think it was necessary. The story is set in a very recognizable version of our world. Additionally, the characters and their emotions were quite impactful – I was rooting for Rachel from the very first line of the story. I loved how Ms. Slayer balanced the erotic scenes with the emotional scenes. Gavin was super charming, and there were many moments where he caused me to swoon. Cue the heart eyes!

The ending of the book is by far one of my favorite parts of the story. Ms. Slayer tied everything up in a bow nicely! Overall, Bite Me for Christmas was a delightful paranormal/urban fantasy holiday short story. If a reader is in search of a quick, entertaining, and spicy read complete with happily ever after this book delivers.

Thoughtful, quiet, and just a wee bit on the dryly sarcastic side, Ethan teaches music at the university in Second Chance. With barely enough time to breathe between hysterical students and faculty shenanigans, he’s not looking for Mr. Right — just Mr. Right Now — and only when the moment calls for it. The beautiful man who calls himself “Blue” in a quick, dirty alley encounter should have satisfied him. But now Ethan can’t get Blue out of his mind, and can’t seem to stop looking for him.

Carter –”Blue” when he wants to stay anonymous — wears his scars on the inside, but they’re deep and still bleeding. He doesn’t venture far outside his antique & pawn shop unless he’s desperate for someone to touch and hold him and make him feel good for a little while. He promised himself he would never want more again. The smoldering musician who caught his eye, and what they did in the alley, should have been enough. That should have been the end of it.
It wasn’t. It isn’t. Their encounter left him pregnant, and he’s been frozen since then, not knowing how to break free of his shell or what he should do. Until Ethan finds him — and then, everything changes. Again.

Author’s Note: Also featuring Oscar, everybody’s favorite sarcastic best friend. We all need an Oscar in our lives.

Ethan teaches music at the university of Second Chance. After a super quick “Mr. Right Now” alley encounter, Ethan should have moved on from Blue almost immediately. But he can’t get the man out of his mind and can’t force himself to stop looking for Blue everywhere he goes. Carter has been deeply hurt before and continues to wear the scars inside from the past. Only he can’t get Ethan out of his mind, and when Blue finds himself pregnant, he realizes everything is about to change. Again.

I found this to be an interesting and slightly different Alpha/omega M/M pregnancy book. While the broad outline is fairly standard (one quicky hook-up ends in pregnancy but neither party really caught the others name so it takes time to reconnect) so much about the characters and their personal situations was refreshingly different it really grabbed me into the story as a whole early on. Carter has been hurt and so is extremely reticent, but he has personal secrets and his history isn’t as straightforward as I expected initially. Equally, Ethan might be an Alpha, but his approach to everything – from his work to his relationships to his general outlook on life – is slightly slanted and different to the typical over-confidant, my-way-is-right style of Alpha that is so often shown. These factors meshed really well together in my mind and I felt this gave the whole story a really different perspective and helped me be really eager to see how it would all unfold.

I also adored the depth of emotion throughout the whole story. Ethan was so patient with Carter, instead of being annoyed or frustrated with Carter’s worries and secrets he could hold back with his own needs and desires and help ease Carter so they could work together. This was such a wonderful thing to read and so different to how these stories often go I really enjoyed it. It also helped really solidify for me the depth of caring and understanding that grew between the two men and I could see how they connected together. The growing romance and relationship between them felt real but also felt like something that would last over time. This made it a far deeper and more emotional romance than I had expected from the brief blurb and I loved every minute of it.

Sexy and fun with a good plot this was a great story and one I enjoyed.

Meanwhile, Peter Smythe, a handsome and dedicated correspondent, is investigating the disappearances of street people in the docklands of London.

The discovery of a horribly mutilated body of one of the victims reminds Elizabeth of the horrendous acts perpetrated by the Whitechapel murderer known as the Collector. Elizabeth slew that monster, itself a creature of Vladimir, and she fears this is a new apprentice.

Sparks fly when Peter and Elizabeth come together, and they set off on a roller-coaster adventure in a fogbound steam-driven world. When the hunted becomes the hunter, Elizabeth is the bait!

When does the hunter become the hunted? Imagine setting a trap for a vicious beast, but you end up being the one trapped instead. Mikala Ash takes readers into their 1800’s steampunk version of London where our daring heroine might have bitten off more than she can chew.

I loved Elizabeth’s character. An intelligent, beautiful, bad-ass woman who can take care of herself? I am all here for that! She’s not always one to take other’s feelings into account, but I feel like that’s part of her character arc and something she has room to fix. Ms. Ash had me invested in Elizabeth’s journey when Elizabeth allowed herself to be vulnerable and talk about how she’s still affected by the death of her husband. That moment gave her a lot of depth in my eyes.

While you can technically read this as a standalone, readers may miss out on some of the backstory and character dynamics. For example, I felt like I was missing something in the relationship between Elizabeth and Marianne. Despite missing some small details and nuances because of this, I didn’t have any issues understanding the mystery aspect and the overall story arc.

The erotic romance factor was not as obvious. Yes, there were some erotic scenes but there was no romancing (which is disappointing). Erotic scenes lose a lot of their excitement for me when there’s no connection (or when the connection is not believable). A meeting of the brains? Love at first sight? Plain and simple lust a character needed to work out? Anything works! Just give me something I can believe in to establish why characters are getting in bed with each other. Unfortunately, the story failed to deliver a meaningful romantic connection. If it had, I would have been able to give it a higher rating.

Overall, The Tethered Goat is a quick and enjoyable adventure-filled tale. I would recommend this book to readers who might enjoy a steampunk, female driven mystery that’s similar in style to Sherlock Holmes (with minimal elements of erotic romance).

When two slayers meet, the results are bound to be… Violent. Explosive. And erotic. But if they both work together, they may overcome the insane odds stacked against them and, just possibly, come out alive.

The Slayer is a standalone novel featuring vampires and revenge. I have read quite a few of this author’s books and this is the first one that didn’t work for me.

Kye is not a vampire but he’s not human either. Tali is a human on a mission. One problem, two different angles. Both of them are aided by different characters, but a lot is left unsaid and unexplained.

The trouble I had with this book is I didn’t connect with either Kye or Tali. Instead of being immersed into the storyline, where I feel like I’m there, and care about the characters and situations, I was most definitely outside the book, reading in. I felt no connection to either of the main characters, indeed, none of the characters. I also didn’t really care if Kye and Tali got together, which is sort of one of the main points of the book.

I feel this is a marmite book – some will love it, others, not. Unfortunately for me, I fell into the second category on this one. It was an okay read that I finished. The writing is good, the story – good, but I just didn’t feel anything. Saying that, I would still recommend this book as I know this author has written some amazing stories, and this just wasn’t one for me, but someone else might love it.

When she finds an unusual gaming console, she is drawn into a lusty video game in which she crosses paths with five inhuman creatures. She is drawn to them all, but when the five men keep telling her that the game is very much not what it seems, Emilia realizes she can no longer play along.

As the path she follows offers not just desire and intense experiences but also sadness, cruelty, and hurt around every bend, Emilia’s resolve firms: she will free the five men, who tell her they are already a family, already lovers. Whatever she has grown to feel for them, she cannot let them suffer if saving them is within her power.

With the rules of a game she doesn’t understand forcing her to play along, Emilia must find a way to get to the end of the game and get everyone out — whatever the cost. The freedom of her five monsters depends on her.

A steamy Jumanji-type computer game!

That’s what Emilia finds when she house-sits. She is told that if she enters she will find lots of sex, so surprisingly doesn’t answer no when asked if she is sure. What she finds is more than she bargained for though.

This was a quick read with, yes, plenty of sex. I actually felt sorry for Arden. He was the first ‘encounter’ and, as such, I didn’t feel the emotional connection to him as I did to the others that came later. Each of the male characters is very individual and brilliantly described. The objects that Emilia collects is perfect for each one and shows thought by the author, instead of just randomly picking an item out of thin air.

This is the first in a series and I honestly can’t wait to continue the series. I want to know more about Emilia, plus the men, but most especially Radovan!

Gabriel, a dreamer and a librarian, is so shy and introverted that he’s still a virgin Omega at twenty-five — but he can’t help wishing fairy-tale Prince Charmings were real and that one would find him. One does, a rough-hewn but outgoing, captivating quarryman Alpha called Wynn. For them, it’s love at first sight. Gabriel doesn’t care if they’re an odd couple, no matter what others and his Beta co-librarian Cameron thinks about it.

But the happy ending is harder to come by. When Gabriel’s almost full term with their first child, there’s an accidental explosion at the quarry that leaves Wynn trapped behind a wall of rubble. Waiting for news – any news – and hoping against hope, all Gabriel has to comfort himself with is the memory of his fairytale of a love story. He’s so lost in dreaming he doesn’t realize he’s in labor and needs to get to a doctor.

Who will rescue who?

Gabriel is a dreamer and determined to wait for his Prince Charming. After a long wait he finally finds it in solid quarryman Wynn. Can these two find their happily ever after?

This story jumps a fair bit from a past series of events and the present time. While I understood the author was trying to tell two sections of Wynn and Gabriel’s story at the same time, I really felt this frequent jumping back and forth was pretty confusing and I tended to muddle the stories up when I was trying to recall the sequence later on. Everything sort of meshed together in my mind and I found this quite difficult to sort out so I’m not sure this style of story-telling really works for me and I’m not sure I’d want to read another story set out like this again.

That said, I did really enjoy both Wynn and Gabriel’s characters. I felt their connection and clear love and attraction was a lovely romance for the story and I absolutely wanted to see their happy ever after. I also enjoyed the plotline of the explosion at the quarry, but felt a lot of the drama and enjoyment of this plot was hampered by the fact the constant back and forth between present and past really lowered my enjoyment of the story as a whole.

Readers looking for a lovely romance story between a shy librarian and a dedicated hard worker should find plenty in this story that appeals to them. While I’m not sold on the back and forth in the timeline of telling the two main aspects of the story I think this is a different enough style that readers looking for something a little outside the box might find this refreshingly different.
