Inside the cockpit, Captain Paul Miller is always in control. But on the ground, he constantly feels adrift. His marriage is crumbling, and life has become much too complicated.

Jamey Conley has worked hard to make his café in the Frisco airport a successful venture. He loves his work – and especially the airport scenery. He goes gaga over guys in uniform, but when he meets Paul, sparks really fly. Too bad his ideal man is married — and straight.

A bit of taboo, a dash of romance and a layover…this will be hot.

When there’s a story with a pilot involved, I’m there. I love a good flight romance. Now, this one takes place mostly on the ground, but hey, it’s still hot. I love the work of Gale Stanley and I knew I needed to read this book from the moment I picked it up. I’m glad I did.

This story is hot, but’s it’s also sweet. Paul isn’t sure he’s happy in his life. Sure, he’s a hotshot pilot, but he’s in a rocky marriage and knows things aren’t right. I’m not usually one for cheating stories, but the way Paul and James get together is cute. I liked James, in particular, because he’s patient with Paul, even when they’re heating the sheets.

Paul goes on a journey in this story and it has nothing to do with the plane. I liked the way he evolved and hope to see more of him. I want to see him with James, too. Can I have another story with these two? Please? I’m ready! The chemistry was off the charts.

If you’re looking for a hot story that’s got a little bit of taboo in the cheating aspect, then this might be the one for you.

Dave Frost died in combat five years ago, but his soul survives, magically bonded to the body of his partner — a six-hundred pound tiger. Dave can conjure a human manifestation, but nobody treats him as a man anymore. Especially not women. Until he meets Ariel — his costar — while shooting a reality TV competition in the Bahamas. The show’s producers have assigned him to the beautiful witch for an onscreen showmance.

Ariel Piper’s talent is strong enough to turn the competition in their favor. Unfortunately, she also has a condition that makes using her magic agonizing. When they discover Dave’s touch kills the pain, he’s driven to help.

Their showmance soon becomes the real thing, though Dave fears she’ll dump him when the show wraps. Can Ariel convince this heroic, wounded man to trust her love — before the show comes to a lethal climax that’s not in the script?

A new world to me from a favourite author.

Angela Knight is a known author to me. I love her worlds that are always so clear and descriptive, making it easy to understand ‘the rules’. This world though was a new one to me. It is the third book in the series but is billed as a standalone. I have read it as such but am now left with a need to read the first two books in the series!

This story is based in a world where magic exists. There are witches, familiars, and Ferals. These are humans who bond with an animal, drawing on their strength. Dave is paired with Smiley when one of his teammates loses control. Dave dies of a broken neck but Smiley is not prepared to let him go. Instead, Dave’s spirit/soul/whatever you want to call it shares Smiley’s body. It usually happens the other way around as the animals don’t live as long as humans usually. This way isn’t unknown but it is rare, which leads to misunderstandings and ill-conceived notions.

Set on an island where a reality TV show is being filmed, you meet the team Dave and Ariel are on together, getting an in-depth understanding of his teammates and why they are competing. The bond between Dave and Ariel is real but Dave won’t put his weight behind it, fearing it is only short-term. Ariel has her hands full with trying to convince him her feelings won’t change and also keeping herself and her teammates alive.

This is another fantastic read by this author and one I have no hesitation in recommending.

Leigha — To say my dad is overprotective is too mild a description. Add in all my honorary uncles in the Dixie Reapers MC and going on dates is next to impossible. So when Lyssa invites me to visit her at the Reckless Kings in Tennessee, I jump at the chance. Maybe I can finally experience life a little. I know my family goes after bad men, the kind who hurt women and kids. I never counted on becoming a victim myself. The biker who comes to my rescue is… scary. Hot. And all alpha. He’s exactly what I need!

Cyclops — My stint in the military left me a parting gift. Scar tissue that not only left me blind in that eye, but makes the damn thing look spooky as fuck. I’m used to people staring. Mostly. Then my brothers had to stick me with the road name Cyclops. They’re not funny, even if they think they are. Uncle Sam may no longer find me fit for duty, but it doesn’t mean I’m useless. When I hear a scream, I don’t hesitate. Thought I was saving a girl. Turns out she’s a woman — and one I shouldn’t touch. The daughter of a Dixie Reaper, she’s her daddy’s little angel… and damn if I’m not tempted to lure her to the dark side and get her a little dirty.

Fans of Christine Feehan’s Torpedo Ink series or other motorcycle club romance books will love Harley Wylde’s Cyclops, the fifth book in the Reckless Kings MC series. A fast paced, action-packed story – I found myself invested in the romance early on, and had to see it all the way through.

Our main character, Leigha, is the daughter of “Preacher” and yearns to be free from her father’s influence and that of the club. When a friend offers her the chance to visit her at a different club’s compound, she jumps at the opportunity. From there, she runs into Cyclops (a scarred former veteran who is now a Reckless Kings member), and her life changes forever.

This is an age-gap romance (more than 10 years) and borders on insta-love, but I surprisingly didn’t have any issues with either aspect. I have always been in awe of the way that bikers love their “old ladies” in my favorite motorcycle club romance books, and this one is no exception. Cyclops and Leigha are a ship-worthy couple in every way possible. I was also quite impressed by how the bikers handled the bad guys and saved the children. Children are innocents who should never be used as pawns in the conflicts of adults, and the fact that the rough bikers took the time to treat the children with kindness and care was touching.

As a note, this book is part of a series, but I didn’t have any issues understanding what was going on without having read any of the previous installments. I do, however, think that the best reading experience will be provided by reading the books in order. Take from that whatever direction you will.

Overall, it was a very entertaining story and I look forward to checking out more books by Harley Wylde in the future. With regards to trigger warnings and content to be aware of, there are darker themes and references to minor abuse. There is also an attempted assault scene on a page (the hero swoops in to save the heroine just in time). It can get very sad at times, but don’t get too discouraged because the book ends in a happily ever after.

Vampires are real! Sten Majkovic has lived longer than he ever dreamed possible. Among his kind it isn’t easy having a slim, lithe build, but it does have advantages in the human world. He welcomes attention of men who appreciate his appearance. Their mistake is expecting to hold the upper hand. None ever do. And not a single one of them realizes his rabid need for blood — until it’s too late…

Drew Riles’ life is shitty. Mid-fifties, passed over for promotion, he struggles to stay afloat until, nearly beaten to death, he’s rescued by a monster. Unsure how to survive, he flounders in unfamiliar territory. Anger soon replaces what little fear the beast allows as Drew comprehends the fiend has no intention of releasing him. Both emotions quickly evaporate as he watches the bloodthirsty creature use men in a way… God, I want to be those men!

Hot, hot, hot.

I love a good J Hali Steele book and this one didn’t disappoint. It’s hot. It’s right there in the blurb and the book delivers. The writing in this story flowed well and I read it in a matter of an afternoon.

Drew and Sten aren’t men that would normally be put together, but they work together well. Drew is cranky and older, but Sten is much older and not as cranky, but he’s a vampire. I liked that they danced around each other throughout the story and the slow burn quality was good. But this is a hot book and there is plenty of steam, too. I hope to see more of the other vampires in this story. They really captivated me, and I want to see them happy or at least sated.

If you’re looking for something quick, hot and guaranteed to singe the screen, then this might be the one for you.

Steaming up the ice…

When ice artist Judith Dane is hired to create a kinky version of Michelangelo’s David, she thinks the ice sculpture is just another Christmas party centerpiece. But when she delivers the work she’s nicknamed “Frosty the Snow Dom” to the BDSM club Valhalla, the party turns out to be a lot stranger than she expects.

When Frosty comes to life just like a certain snowman, she discovers just how hot ice can be. But what happens when the spell breaks?

Hot guy in ice and a hot time for a spell…read this book!

I picked up this book because I wanted something steamy for an afternoon. This doesn’t disappoint. It’s hot, steamy and the writing leaps off the page. Ms. Knight has always been a favorite author of mine and this one was another great story.

Judith thinks she’s making an ice sculpture of Michelangelo’s David, but this isn’t just another ice guy. Oh, no. There’s a ritual, spell and things get heated quickly. I liked the interplay between Judith and the other characters, but especially Tor. He romances her in such a short time that I loved it. I wanted to see what would happen next and rooted for them to be successful.

If you’re looking for something that’s hot, sexy, Christmassy and a little quirky, then this is the story for you!

The only survivors of a terrible crash, two women from Earth become the unwilling guests of a tribe of aliens who’ve lost all their women.

Will Bianca and Coreen escape the Sloth-King before he makes them the “goddesses” of his tribe, or will they embrace their slavery?

This story is something out of the ordinary and it is quite the read.

I’m still new to the monster genre of romance thought I wouldn’t call this romance, per se, but it’s certainly got monsters. I liked the sci-fi edge to this story and how it’s actually rather believeable that humans could encounter just about anything out there in the vastness of space. But these monsters aren’t exactly Tribbles. Nope. These sloth-kings are beasts.

There is an element of coercion to this story. Bianca isn’t exactly interested in being with the monsters at first, but a change happens and she does. I liked how Bianca isn’t exactly wanting to be with them, but she falls into it and I liked how she adapted. There’s lots of sex, some swapping, some getting out of comfort zones and plenty of heat.

This is erotica, straight up, so there’s little romance to it. That’s okay. I wasn’t looking for sweet and stick romance. I wanted heat. I wanted to melt my screen. This one did. I also wanted to know more about Coreen and Bianca and the sloth-kings.

If you’re interested in something hot that will satisfy for a lunchtime read, then this one might be the one for you.

In a world where Fae desires overrule those of mere humans, Sinn is consumed with passion for her soulmate, Daka. Though he refuses to break the Fae law that prevents them from having sex without the queen’s permission, Sinn finds a way to sate her sexual hunger — with the assistance of three bikers.

But nobody rides for free…

This gal knows what she wants and she’s not afraid to go for it. What a woman!

I picked up this story because I wanted something hot and short. This story delivered. It’s hot and quick, great for a lunchtime read, and just about melted my screen.

Sinn wants nothing more than to be with her soulmate, Daka, but that’s not possible. Imagine a world where the law states you can’t be with your soulmate on the deepest level without permission? What’s a girl to do when she wants to be with him but can’t? She makes a way to get what she wants until she can.

The thing I liked the most about this short story is that Sinn is capable of standing up for herself. She’s not about to wilt at the thought of being denied something. She’s also able to defend herself. She truly is going to kick some tail and take names. Have I mentioned it’s hot? It is. Oh, and the chemistry between Sinn and Daka is fantastic.

Who said going to Hell didn’t have its rewards?

Killed in a dirty back alley by a street whore. Such an ugly way to die. But my lessons in death have only just begun.

Hell is filthy. And cold. And as soon as I fell, I found a demon waiting for me. My new Master. From spanking to whipping to painful abuse, each new lesson gives me hope — the hope of oblivion. Surely I can’t survive this long.

But the longer I’m here, the more I learn about myself and the life I wasted. And the more I crave Master’s touch. Each lesson strips away another layer of my mortal flesh. I am everyman. I am no one. I am what my Master wishes me to be. A Demon’s whore for all eternity…

Boy howdy, this one is a hot story!

I have to start this out by mentioning this is a Razor’s Edge story, which means it’s not for the faint of heart. It’s meant to be off-the-charts hot and not necessarily romance. If you’re looking for something that’s going to melt your reader, then this is the one for you.

He is killed in a dubious way and has to pay for his many indiscretions. I wasn’t looking for anything too sweet, so this story delivered. He is punished and there are moments of dubious consent, but the true thrust of this story is the journey. He goes on the journey of a lifetime – or would it be deathtime since he’s with his master in hell? He learns about himself and what he can handle. What he likes and needs. It’s crazy hot and may be a bit uncomfortable for some readers. It’s erotica and meant to be cutting edge.

If you’re looking for something hot and guaranteed to melt your screen, then this is it. Give Oblivion a try.

I call on the fates to bring my love to me. As I will it, so mote it be…

What if those simple words plus a name on a scroll could guarantee true love? Karey’s determined to find out if the spell, Summon a Bad Boy, works, and she knows just who she’s going to ask for. Jimmy McCreadie. The tattooed man makes her weak in the knees — he’s every naughty desire she’s had come to life. She’s nothing like the women he dates, and far too shy for her own good, but she’s not giving up.

Mix a bad boy with some magic and have faith. Anything’s possible. Karey’s desire just might come true.

You say “bad boy”, I say dream date. Karey would likely agree with me.

Although slightly skeptical, Karey agreed to her friend Sarah’s outlandish plan to follow a magic ritual to summon her true love to her. She doesn’t actually expect it to work, but once her drool-worthy crush Jimmy (that’s she’s been pining over for months) talks to her for the first time she’s left questioning everything. After all, he’s only ever dated leggy skinny blondes and she does not fit into that category. And if there was magic involved, does he really love her at all? I don’t want to spoil things, so you’ll have to read the book to find out!

Similar to Ms. Slayer’s other books, there is some established chemistry between Jimmy and Karey that’s been building for a while. Jimmy reminded me a lot of Bite Me for Christmas, in that the female main character is looking for her true love and uses magic to make things happen. Ms. Slayer did a great job with creating her characters, as I found myself quite invested in seeing how Karey and Jimmy’s relationship turned out. I want to give the author props for how well she executes all of the pairings and relationships in her books; large amounts of on-page relationship establishment are never required for such short stories, and I appreciate that she doesn’t need to bother with that.

Overall, another quick and steamy read from Megan Slayer that’s complete with a happily ever after! Readers who enjoy contemporary romances featuring a bad boy/tattooed love interest and a slight paranormal flair should definitely check out the book. If you’ve been looking for the grown-up, steamier version of How To Build a Better Boyfriend or The Perfect Date, then you’ve found it in this book. I’ve absolutely loved all of the Megan Slayer titles that I’ve read so far, and I’m looking forward to reading more of her books in the future.

JD Tolliver begins research for his thesis on paranormal phenomena as a nonbeliever. He believes now. A ghost or angry spirit, a true haint, follows JD from Appalachia. His finding a suitable body so he can leave poses a problem — $it has JD by the balls@!

Coll Collins spent over a hundred years locked in silence. Suddenly freed, he discovers that gay hate crimes are not a thing of the past. The stranger he attaches himself to is sassy and, to Coll, sexy as hell. Never had the pleasure of a soft young man, and Coll plans to take advantage every single night until he returns home.

He doesn’t believe, but he sure will when Coll is done!

This is a short story and packed full of heat. It should be. It’s a Razor’s Edge story, so it delivers the hot stuff. This is great for an afternoon or lunch time read when the reader wants something hot, short and satisfying.

I liked Coll and JD. Coll is blunt and goes after what he wants. I totally understood what a haint was and I’d never heard of them before, but I knew after this story. Coll is certainly an angry spirit, but he’s not totally bad, either. I liked him. Then there’s JD. He’s rather repressed and needs to be pushed. The chemistry between him and Coll is great. It leapt off the page.

If you’re looking for something that’s short, hot and good for a quick read, then this is one to try!
