Hawk has been baffled by Onyx since he first met her. The woman defies all reason, teasing him to distraction only to rebuff him at every turn. A man can only take so much, and when Onyx defies his orders in the heat of battle, Hawk decides to show her what a fiery explosion a Molotov Cocktail can really ignite.

“It doesn’t matter who I am.” Onyx leaned casually against the bulkhead, never taking her eyes from Hawk. “What matters is that I’ve decided to make you my bitch. Do you think you can handle that?”

When a story begins like this you just know that anything that follows will have your undivided attention. Onxy has decided that she will do whatever it takes to make Hawk lose control. Hawk, being a no nonsense alpha male, just wanted to fly his ship through space, rescue his friend from the prison on Nova Station, then go back to base. Onxy made sure she was assigned to his ship as co-pilot so she could go on the mission with him. As he piloted the ship all she did was stare at him making suggestive comments, Hawk knew what she was doing and tried to ignore her but she proved to be more formidable then he expected.

This story was short but from the opening sentence to the end of the story, I was intrigued. Marteeka Karland made these two characters so likeable, especially Onxy, that I couldn’t help but smile everytime she made Hawk squirm. He would tell her to do something and she would do the exact opposite, telling him that she had to have his back. He would threaten her and she would smile and welcome it, and you could feel the frustration and sexual heat radiating from him. He was described as being ‘six foot nine and three hundred pounds but he had the urge to cover himself’ as Onxy sat staring at him smiling.

Her sole mission, other than helping Hawk rescue Storm from Nova Station, was to get him to let loose, because she wanted him and he was hers. The sex between these two, when Hawk decided he had reached the end of his rope, was hot and it was amusing to see Onxy question her decision when Hawk finally did lose control. I saw that she was poking the bear but she really was unprepared for the bear to poke back. All in all, this was a good short read and I’m sure that readers will be as entertained as I was.

Struggling to save her pack in a fight to the death, Leiah has no clue what she’s in for when the Shadow Wolf, Rikker, intervenes. In one swoop, he claims her and threatens to take her away from the only family she’s ever known. Leiah rejects his claim, even though she craves him as much as he craves her. Can these two Shadow Wolves find a balance before Leiah’s beloved pack is torn apart?

Leiah is fighting to save her pack, as alpha it’s her duty to make sure her pack survives the Yeti attack. The males of her pack are weak and look to her to lead them; some of them stay and help her fight but many others run and hide. Rikker, a lone wolf, happens upon the fighting and being the alpha male that he is, jumps right in and protects her. He has no patience for the males he deems as ‘weaklings’ and only fights because he realizes that Leiah is his mate.

Rikker tells Leiah that she is his mate and even though she has a stronge attraction to him she feels that she cannot leave the pack. They depend on her because she was the one who got them out of the ‘ghettos’ of Syrila where they would have been worked until they were of no more use to the rulers. Rikker does not feel any connection to these weaklings and wants to take her away with him. Of course the other wolves are upset and they will do anything to get rid of Rikker so that they can keep Leiah with them.

Since this was a short story I got to know a little about the characters of Leiah and Rikker but there was still something missing. I really couldn’t get invested in the characters because there simply was time to fit a huge background story with everything else that was going on. I did like that Leiah was an alpha female and didn’t back down from a fight, and of course you had the alpha male who complimented her nicely.

The story was a enjoyable read and the sex between the characters was raw and hot. While it would have been nice to have a little background story about how Leiah came to rescue the wolves and why Rikker was a lone wolf this quick glimpse into their meeting was exciting. Overall as I said, the story was a good read, and Marteeka Karland is a good story teller.

The book is fairly short and a good portion of it is based on Alexander and his family before he even met Noah. I really appreciated the connection that was obvious between Alexander and his family, but I strongly wished that more of that time could have been spent contributing to the romantic development between Alexander and Noah.

I like a good sports story. I love when there’s heat involved. Elizabeth Jewell’s book, Puck You, Two fits this bill nicely. Be warned, this is a short story and it’s part of a series. That said, I didn’t need to read the other book – although I have – to know what was going on. There was just the right amount of backstory to keep me caught up. The writing flowed well. Yes, it’s short, but I didn’t wander from the story. I had to know what would happen next. There was a tension between the characters that heightened the story perfectly.

I enjoyed the tension Philippe dealt with. He can’t decide if he wants Laska for more, but it’s pretty obvious how he feels. Laska ‘gets’ him.

There are moments in this story that aren’t for the faint of heart. If pain play isn’t your thing, then this might not be the book for you. I’d say don’t let that deter you. Ms. Jewell handles the play well, not making it overwhelming. It does enhance the story.

Rosaline never thought she would find a meaningful relationship at an adult party for the denizens of the preternatural community. She came to have fun and flirt with danger while hiding behind the safety of the party’s rules. And then she met Sebastian, a demi-god who demands all her attention and satisfies her every need. Even though her head says it’s nothing but pleasure between consenting adults with no strings attached, her heart is wondering if this fickle demi-god might actually want to be with her.

Who wouldn’t want chance to party with the gods.

The story begins with the main character, Rosaline, introducing herself to the group of preternatural guests at the party given by the Guardian. The Guardian is a demi-goddess who acts as Rosaline’s protector especially at these parties which was thrown every Wednesday by the Guardian. Since this was Rosaline’s first party she was allowed to set the boundaries concerning what she would and would not allow. Rosaline tells everyone at the party that she’s their “server, voyeur, and touchstone” for the night and they may use their fingers, but no other parts of their bodies may touch hers. Her job, along with the other servers, is to circle the room and wait for one or more of the guests to require her services. If they required her to just watch them then that is what she was to do, she would not participate but she would allow them to use their fingers on her.

Rosaline is introduced to the Guardian’s cousin Sebastian, who she learns is the son of Zeus, and is given a warning by the Guardian to not become too involved with him. Needless to say, Rosaline is soon head over heels for Sebastian, and she can’t wait until the next party. In times of medical cipla cialis online emergency every little help is invaluable. She thinks that he is the only man for her until he does the unthinkable and breaks her heart.

This story took me to another level because I had to imagine a world where a party such as this could happen. This party included vampires, gods, wolf shifters, and a dog that was given the ability to shift into a man.

The character of Sebastian came off as self centered and egotistical. Not surprising since most gods especially, the Greek ones, are typically depicted that way, and he is thh son of Zeus. However, after he broke Rosaline’s heart, I saw another side of Sebastian. I got to see what made him tick and why he did what he did to Rosaline. I also got to see the other side of Rosaline; I saw that she was much more than that soft girl I met in the beginning of the story.

This story had a little bit of everything in it, the sex scenes were spicy and the characters had me rooting for them. Overall this story was good and definitely different.

Some women age well. Hailey doesn’t age at all. She knows she must be some type of paranormal yet she’s never met another being like her… until she meets Oro. This arrogant, handsome dragon shifter claims she is his mate, and insists they bond immediately.

Oro is a golden dragon shifter. He is handsome and strong and a dragon so he doesn’t understand why Hailey refuses to bond with him. He covers her with molten gold and sets her body ablaze, yet she continues to refuse his advances. What more can a female dragon want… than him?

Life can be complicated when you know you aren’t human, but don’t know exactly what you are. Hailey has no idea what she is, only that she doesn’t age, and men rarely can handle more than one romantic encounter with her. When she and her companion, Ember, step across the threshold to Oro’s high end jewelry shop, she’s drawn to the gold in the cases, and decides this is the job they will take: as assistants to the owner himself.

Oro recognizes immediately that Hailey’s a dragon, and more importantly, his mate. He accepts her as his ‘assistant’ for the time being, and sets out to make her more than that. After all, he is a prime specimen of male dragon, rich and available: what more could Hailey desire? As for Hailey, she’s delighted that Oro is a match for her, but she wants to be wanted for herself, not just because she’s that rarest of beings, a female dragon. She wants his heart, not just the mating bond. Can Oro give Hailey what she wants as well as what they both need? Is there a perfect match or just the shared attraction of the gold between them?

Cynthia Sax has written a hot but endearing story of one dragon’s search for love, liberally laced with lots of lust and passion. This world is an intriguing place, with paranormal living side by side with humans, and strange friendships in place. The characters are well defined with humor and personalities unique to each. I like that Hailey’s best friend, Ember, is a wolf shifter with a pet Chihuahua, and is fully aware of the pitfalls that surround Hailey.

Hailey is a wonderful character, loyal to her friend, and determined to find her place in the world. There’s a vulnerability to her, in spite of the dragon strength she has, because she wants to be loved, not because she’s a dragon, but in spite of it. When Oro tries to claim her as his mate, she holds back, hoping he can prove that she means more to him than just what she is. I love Hailey’s determination to be reckoned with as an equal, not a mating toy. She’s smart, sassy and gives as good as she gets.

Oro is strong, rich and yet lonely. He has despaired of ever finding his true mate, and has been willing to settle for much less before Hailey appeared in his store. Once he sees her, touches her, he knows she’s his mate, but must find a way to win her, proving to her how much she means to him. I like Oro’s sense of humor, and his sneaky ploys to try to win Hailey to his side.

There’s a terrific cast of secondary characters in this, from Ember the wolf shifter sidekick to Russ, Oro’s partner, a red haired, freckled vampire with a wanna-be vamp girlfriend. Each character brings a unique bit of flair to this hot little story, and nothing is hotter than Oro’s seduction of Hailey on his office desk. The subterfuge he uses and the lengths he goes to win Hailey will delight anyone who likes hot and delicious happy ever after in a story.

Peter Pan grew up, all right.

Peter Pan was supposed to be the boy who never grew up. Then Neverland blew sky high. Now he’s very much an adult and playing adult games. There’s one woman he wants for his bed, his cuffs, his toys… yeah, he’s ready to do all sorts of naughty things to Wendy. If he can find her.

Wendy Darling never expected Peter to come back. She’d grown up and moved on — to write white-hot BDSM tales. Can her perfect Dom be the one man she never thought she’d see all grown up?

I no longer have to wonder what would happen if Peter Pan grew into manhood. Oh my! For that matter, I certainly never expected to find Wendy in Ohio writing steamy BDSM fiction. Author Megan Slayer gives new definition to creative license with this hot little novella.

Set in a futuristic time period and yet on Earth, Pan is still in the business of protecting the inhabitants of Neverland who were displaced when the Neverland we knew was blown away in a war for the ages. Captain Hook isn’t around to hunt the Lost Boys, Tiger Lily, Peter or the fairies but that doesn’t mean they’re safe. Quite the opposite, actually. As is typical, hypocritical people try to ostracize what they don’t understand, even when they secretly pay to play with them behind closed doors. Those “closed doors” lead into the wildly popular BDSM night club owned by a now fully grown and restless Peter Pan.

There is A LOT going on in this terrifically clever short. Almost all of the characters I knew and loved from the classic are present in titillating circumstances. I had more than one “Oh, Wow” moment while reading this book. Wendy isn’t the only Darling child who couldn’t leave Neverland behind but I’ll just have to hold on to hope that Ms. Slayer has plans to give us more of Michael and John’s story.

As I mentioned, Capt. Hook isn’t around to cause trouble but that doesn’t mean Peter is free of the Hook influence. Wendy also had a run in with the present day Hook and one of his cronies who take all the fulfillment and pleasure out of the BDSM experience. Ms. Slayer does an excellent job of making the villains’ extra villainy complete with eye patches and bad attitudes.

I liked how Ms. Slayer built the tension between Wendy and Peter when they first meet face to face after being apart for so long. Wendy has grown into quite a self-sufficient woman and she has every intention of telling Peter he can fly right back out the window he came in. Old habits die hard, I guess. Peter and Wendy connected as children and that bond may have been stretched but it was never actually broken. Wendy is a bit sassier than I remembered but I think part of that is simply a false bravado so Peter doesn’t see right away how much she still very much loves him. Is he man enough now to be with a woman who’s experienced and in need of a strong, dominant man? He certainly has the right tools!

I’m really hoping Ms. Slayer plans to put her clever and creative mind to some other childhood favorites. I bet she could have a field day with Tarzan, Cinderella, Snow White and The Beauty and the Beast! Just sayin’….

Do yourself a favor and GET THIS BOOK! It’s fun and deliciously dark all at the same time. Don’t miss it!

Regina Blake is a normal secretary until there’s trouble — then she becomes the Dark Huntress. Things are about to change when she meets a man whose electrifying power is a fine match to her own, and he’s set on winning her heart. To top it off, there’s a string of bank robberies which escalate into the high profile kidnapping of a famous actor.

Michael Flynn hadn’t realized the extent of superhero and supervillain society. When he rushes to a bank to find it destroyed, he meets a black-latex-clad woman who makes his pulse race. As he’s drawn deeper into her world, he finds himself intrigued and eager to have her.

Who’s interested in a comic book-esque storyline with a bit of spice? You can’t see me, but I’m raising my hand.

Regina Blake is just a typical, run of the mill secretary. On the outside that is. When no one is looking and crime is being committed she is the superhero, “Dark Huntress”. She has inhuman powers that help her save the world from evil doers. Regina is extremely dedicated to her work and, with the help of the government, in a secret plan to keep the world safe. Comic book, right?

Then there is Michael Flynn, hottie attorney by day, “Electrifier” by night. Unlike Regina he fights for what’s right at all times. It becomes apparent that Michael is driven in all aspects of his life. Yet you are endeared by his naivety when it comes to the world of “super” beings. Not having met many people sharing his unique abilities, nor realizing that the government was aware of such people is all an eye opening experience for our hero.

The fireworks between Regina and Michael are instant, even on page one. I really liked how they didn’t fight the attraction and understood that sometimes you have to work together to obtain a common goal. Falling in love is just a bonus in this instance. The tension of having to hide one’s true self visibly disappears as our hero and heroine grow closer together.

Overall, I’d have to say I’m 50/50 with this book. I loved the plot as a whole. Being a fan of superheros and comics, this is just my kind of storyline. Adding to the story with a rich character is Kit. He’s Regina’s right hand man and a super human to boot. But he’s also slightly in love with her and lets his jealousy peek out a bit.

However, I felt things move a little too quickly to make sense. Things seemed to go from battle to battle to battle with little to no rest. And the villain in this story felt a little thin to me. I was a little confused by why he did some of the things he did. There was no real fluidity to his actions.

With that said, I think Sarah Makela created an interesting world and I’ll be very interested to see where she takes it. I’m exceptionally interested in Kit’s story because if you haven’t noticed I might have a little crush on him. So for anyone who likes X-men or Batman or even the ARCO series, you’ll very much enjoy this.

Nami is in Vegas for a business seminar. Kosuke is a tentacle monster in search of a cure for the affliction keeping him from eating. While she may not make him better, Kosuke is more than willing to put that aside to enjoy the other things Nami can do for him.

A little unusual kink goes a long way in perking up a person’s boring humdrum routine and this little book should jump start a reader’s interest from zero to sixty in the first chapter.

The blurb certainly piqued my interest but it can only take me so far. The book had to deliver more than the lure of unusual sex; it had to engage my emotions on behalf of either the heroine or hero. I’m happy to say that the author succeeded.

Kosuke is the male protagonist and he’s certainly the one of the most unique and unlikely type of heroes I’ve read about in a long time. He should have been the stuff of nightmares but instead turned out to be a sympathetic character. He’s not only starving, he’s facing death and there doesn’t seem to be a darned thing he can do about it. In fact, there’s something else he can’t seem to control and it opened up a whole host of possibilities he had no choice but to investigate. This being the type of story it is, I was hoping for a good time and Ms. Renquist delivered.

I liked Nami. I liked how the author let me into her head so I could see that she was a pretty pragmatic and open minded person. She wants that intimate connection with another person and doesn’t turn down opportunities to seek out and experience what she’s craving, but so far, she’s coming up zero. Less than zero actually because all the guys seem to be morons in one way or another. I enjoyed her feisty attitude in the beginning. She was clear, assertive and her dialogue seemed real. Her feelings of guilt and curiosity seemed logical for her character which led her to make that one final fateful decision that changed her outlook on dating and sex in general. The best thing? She didn’t freak out or put on prim and proper airs. That’s not her. She knows what she likes sexually and isn’t afraid to go after it. What sealed my approval of her character was when she was bossing Kosuke around. It was adorable.

Here’s where I question the term Shunga. The publisher has it labeled thus but I interpreted the story as having more of a Hentai leaning – being restrained by many tentacles. Perhaps it’s Shunga because of how he described himself when they first met. http://greyandgrey.com/papers-publications/update-on-the-status-of-wc-liens-journal-of-suff-acad-of-law-1994/ cialis samples It’s easy, it’s guaranteed, and it’s worked for thousands of years, dating back to Traditional Chinese Medicine, and have been businesses since 1995. Expert surgeons will do the necessary testing such as ocular coherence Tomography, viagra shop online greyandgrey.com Ocular Blood Flow and helps the penis get full erection. I can’t be sure. However, the fact that Kosuke isn’t a mindless, oversexed and rampaging monster but a polite, assertive, certainly inventive but intuitive lover might be where the difference is. He has certain needs without a doubt, but there’s intelligence and heart behind it all. That’s why this story worked for me, no matter how many tentacles he had, or used. He was a male with dreams, hopes and feelings. The author made that quite clear to me and that is one of the main reasons I enjoyed this story so much.

One thing I am unsure of is whether to call this a paranormal or sci-fi fantasy. I’m leaning towards sci-fi fantasy because he’s not human. His natural form is completely other and his mode of transportation, though biological, seems also otherworldly. Certainly he’s nothing like anything on this planet. I like it though because it’s unique, fresh and full of possibilities.

I understand that having a villain is sometimes necessary but in this case, it didn’t matter to me. The bad guy wasn’t truly evil; he was just a desperate alien who chose to be a jerk about things. Instead, I would have been perfectly happy with the internal conflict. It carried most of the story already so the little altercation didn’t add much to the plot.

Don’t let the idea of a ‘creature’ seducing a human female put you off from reading this fascinating and entertaining story. He’s mostly human, with accessories, an interesting color and he smells wonderful. Kosuke has a dad and mom who love him and who he loves and respects in return. His personality is complimentary to Nami’s and I enjoyed watching them fall in love. Yes, there is a bit of the paranormal aspect when it comes to recognizing one’s future partner but they have to work on it the old fashioned way and that’s another reason why I enjoyed the novella.

Taking it Back is a highly kinky read that delivers what erotic romance readers look for with extra spice. I appreciate how Ms. Renquist handled such an unusual hero and gave him a heroine that was more than his match. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. Despite the short length of this story, the author managed to fit everything that was important to make this a book worth reading. It’s fun, surprising and has some emotional depth to tie it all together. If all tentacle monsters are handled as well as Ms. Renquist’s in this book, then I’m game for more.

Cosmetologist Gillian Leekey is a woman on a mission. She loves big, muscular, hairy men, and Declan is perfect in every way.

But after one night of passion, the Bear Shifter Mafia is declaring war at her front door! When did life get so complicated? But that’s what happens when you decide to date a bear.

Readers should not eat or drink while reading this short because it’s an extremely hilarious, knee slapping, laugh-until-your-sides-ache kind of story. Definitely don’t start How Not to Date a Bear if you have to rush out the door any time soon. This is one paranormal romance that truly was impossible to put down. Once this little beauty started rolling the only time I stopped reading was to grab a tissue because my eyes were watering from laughing so much. I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough to see what else the hapless heroine would do to the unsuspecting hero.

I’ve always been partial to shifter stories and I’m delighted that more and more bears are showing up. Wolves and cats are fine but bears have that certain something that usually we reserve for the cute and small, like kittens and puppies. This book cemented my affections.

One thing I have to make sure the author knows is that I am totally awed by her writing. It’s a very hard thing to write humor effectively. The timing and dialogue are hard enough but descriptions and details can break a scene by muffling or diffusing the intent. Ms. Burke got it perfect. When she referenced Yogi Bear was the first time I had tears in my eyes from extreme giggles. When the hero, Declan, finally had to reveal the truth behind the missed meeting is when I almost fell out of my chair. My husband even got worried at one point. There I was in my room all alone making these strange burbling noises and he couldn’t figure out if I was crying or what. Imagine his bemused expression when all I could do was look at him, giggle and point to the book. I can’t remember that ever happening.

Here’s the thing. Gillian, the heroine, likes well groomed furry guys and she thought it was just her natural inclination and one of the reasons why she’s such a good hair stylist. The author surprised me with the real answer which was not only shocking but really cool. A warning about Gillian is to expect to read about a woman who literally grabs onto her man. It moves pretty fast and for a change that kind of sexual momentum is the only way to go. It’s great. It’s in line with what I later learned about the heroine and it starts the fun right away. Usually I prefer some kind of build up to a relationship but Ms. The problem of erectile dysfunction or ED can be very depressing for generic sildenafil online a man. It also promotes production of testosterone. cheap levitra prescription generic viagra purchase The second most prominent reason why men choose to suffer in silence because now you can buy sildenafil Citrate online, but before doing so, it is advised that you ensure that you are not turned on, your mind won’t fortify the arrival of any nitric oxide and you won’t create any cgmp. This rather short best viagra for women effectiveness is considered to be better than those with critical parents. Burke handled things the way she did for a reason. It works, I’m thrilled and I’m still grinning. I adored the whole ‘hop on and don’t let go’ thing that Gillian had going on. In fact, it was one of the things that made me blink and really take a good look at what I was reading. It was perfect. I admired how the author walked the line of kink without being heavy handed.

Despite what Declan said early on, Gillian is the one calling the shots amidst the sheets. Again, there’s a reason for that but I’m not telling why. I was entertained by the physical descriptions of the hero but was later blown away by what happened to the guy afterwards. Wait until readers get a load of his grooming fiasco – to say someone got carried away is an understatement! It made perfect sense, while it was happening but later on, the ramifications were quite tumultuous.

The reason why this story rates so high for me isn’t only because it had me grinning from ear to ear most the way through but because there was just the right amount of drama and reality to engage the part of me that enjoys conflicts that have to be overcome. It enabled me to see what both the hero and heroine are made of and I’m jazzed about the results. There was the right amount of tension and worry about a potential war to keep me fascinated and yet the focus remained on Declan and Gillian and their reactions and choices regarding the conflict. That is until Declan is forced to make a split second decision that changed the course of all their lives. It was awesome, well written and one of the best parts of the book.

I even applaud the author in how she wrapped up the story. I’m assured that there is the requisite happily ever after but she also ended it with a huge dose of kinky cute. I can’t think of another way to describe it. It was saucy and yet the words Ms. Burke chose were so delightful and perky, I got the biggest charge out of them.
How Not to Date a Bear has my vote as being one of the best and most fun paranormal romances that has been my pleasure to read in ages. I cannot stress enough to readers just how fun and exciting I found this story to be. It might be short on length but the romance is so sweet, the humor so large and the writing done so well, it seems bigger than it is. What can I say? This story left me feeling happy and upbeat, bouncy and chipper. Certainly the sexy romps and bed bouncing antics between Declan and Gillian were entertaining and fun. If this is Ms. Burke’s style of writing then she can count me in as a new fan. I’m over the moon about this.
