Readers who need everything to be straight forward and make sense might struggle with this story, there are some phenomenal plot holes, like how can a 1 yr old cat be a fully grown man after shifting? Or how can that same shifter know about the history of other shifters when he’s been living with a single female all his life? But I found looking beyond these things let me really enjoy the tale. I felt the author wrote this with her tongue firmly in cheek and I can totally appreciate that in a story.

I thought the dialogue was snappy, sexy and quite funny. The plot is simple but still rather fresh and not done a million times in other books, and the characters are interesting. There are also hunters trying to get Ascher and his brothers for their expensive blood and the reunion of Ascher with some of his long-lost litter brothers adds conflict and tension into the mix. Some scorching hot sex scenes rounds this short story out well. I thought this would be the perfect quick-read when I wanted something light and fun, something to while away my time in a waiting room or perhaps to unwind after a stressful day. Recommended.

I like her spirit and determination, and her ability to do what has to be done regardless of what she wants. I also like her sense of loyalty, and the way she was willing to stand by him. And that she was able to fulfill her duty as a Dragon Warrior and complete the mission to bring Trynt in, despite the consequences to her, personally.

Trynt Andrak is a proud and strong Dragon Warrior, but knows he must assume the quest of his clan to find the dragon head that was stolen so long ago as a matter of honor. Although he knows that Adatha is the one for him, he is willing to let her go to be all she can be while he follows the path before him. He is strong and handsome, and has a sense of honor that cannot be denied. I liked that, even while he was undercover, he was not willing to take advantage of the young woman whose attraction to him let him gain entrance to the mansion where his ultimate prize was located. I also liked that he was ready to accept whatever punishment was deemed appropriate in answer for his actions.

This is a fast paced story, with action and danger as well as romance and passion. I like the characters, and look forward to more from this author in this world. I recommend this for all those who like happy endings and lots of hot dragon passion.

Then when Damien approaches her and she opens her mouth she starts stammering and tripping over her words. It made me question her insistence of how smart she really was. I read very mixed signals from Tia and a big gap between what Tia told us about herself and how she initially acted.

Despite this rocky beginning, the conversation between Tia and Damien did become interesting and when she finally settled enough to discuss matters in more depth Damien became curious and then determined to prove to Tia she wasn’t “built differently” and could experience an orgasm and pleasure through sex with another person. I thought the set up of this situation between Tia and Damien could have been handled a bit more smoothly, but once I read past that to the second half of the story it was really engrossing. Tia is quite a convoluted character under her own arrogance and when Damien had scratched that surface I finally found myself more interested in her. Tia and Damien learn to trust each other, and Damien is determined to prove himself to Tia. They go slow, no hard and fast sex scenes that are over before you can really enjoy them.

I found this second half wonderful in that it showed the complexities of Damien and Tia’s character. They learned and explored together and this added richness to the story in my eyes. It made me glad I had persevered through the beginning when I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy where the story led. There is some very mild BDSM (talk of tying Tia up) and a few surprises, but for the most part this is vanilla erotic storytelling and should appeal to many readers.

Though the book takes place during Christmas, the author’s short story has a cast of hot characters and spicy love scenes that raise the winter temperature way above freezing.

I like the strength of Rae as a female, and then how she is helpless against the pull that Zane has on her. Zane being human has no way of contacting Rae but risk going to House Hel just to see her. This to me is such a heighten sense of connection between the two, and to add to it they do not even realize it. This also shows the talent of the author being able to build the intensity between the characters in such a short story.

If you have a few moments for a short mental get away, I suggest settling down with Yet to Come; it is one of Zenobia’s signature quick predictable happy ending read.

The blurb made me think of the last story I read from Ms. Hill and I was curious if it was going to end up as a cookie cutter type story. It’s not and I’m thrilled. Vida is the heroine who makes the choice of being a sort of surrogate mother for the emperor’s first child. What she doesn’t expect to find is love or a man who inspires a passion beyond her wildest imaginings. I liked that the author gave the heroine a good emotional balance. She has strong convictions, compassion and a steel backbone. She wobbles a bit emotionally at one point and the reason is justifiable. What impressed me the most is that Ms. Hill did not let it overtake the story and blow the angst out of proportion. Vida rationalized and understood the intent of her adversary. Her decision was worthy of respect.

Xavier is a completely fascinating hero. He’s not human by any stretch of the imagination and I was wowed by the true mating process. That was a stroke of creative genius. The hero is also a man who knows his own mind and stands up for himself and those he loves. There is a lot to like about his character. I liked his abilities but the ones in the sexual arena were quite fun, well placed and enhanced the progression of the romance.

The author has an amazing wealth of creativity and she drew upon it in the telling of this tale. The fusing of the hero and heroine and the process that accomplishes that feat was both intriguing and sketchy. I realize that time is short and so the author had to world build, have them fall in love and defeat their adversaries all in less than fifty pages. That’s a bit daunting and for the most part Ms. Hill did it. But the sheer power of Xavier’s otherness was lost by its brevity. Vida’s sudden realization of love for the hero is typical in a short story, not threshed out so it comes across as a tad unbelievable. But I believe in the declaration of love coming from Xavier’s position – it made sense to me. A reader will figure out why I say that after reading this novelette.

There is a slight dusting of drama and suspense and its use furthered the belief that Vida is the perfect wife for Xavier. She’s not a pushover.

I liked the reference to green sand. Nothing says fantasy like green sand.

Reading Emperor’s Desire was quite enjoyable. Time certainly flew and most definitely I was entertained. This is the short story to try for fantasy romance aficionados. It has unique aspects, interesting twists and a sexy hero and heroine that truly deserve a happy ever after. Try it and see.

Ms. Coulter Smith immediately presents a heroine in a pickle. At first glance, Belles is a helpless female in need of rescuing. This being a paranormal story, I thought it was going to be from a supernatural element. Imagine my surprise when the author tied the ending to the beginning. Seaton, the hero, starts off heroic, ends up acting like a dunce and eventually redeems himself. He’s a man that isn’t afraid to face his mistakes which is good because he makes a doozey. In this tale, the hero doesn’t get to do a lot of he-man daring-do. It starts off that way but it quickly morphs into a story about a man wooing a woman and doing what it takes to win her heart. Seaton’s simple actions and caring, even sometimes insightful words and dialogue, is what makes him the right mate for Belles. Eventually.

What I appreciated about this story is that the sex carries loads of meaning. The author did not use a heavy hand with the sex but made it count. It provided value to the story and spice to the romance.

Of course, this being a novelette; the villain wasn’t well rounded, the hero, though delicious, wasn’t as fleshed out as he might have been (better explanation of his phobia and why he expected ‘everyone’ to know about it) and the blurb making it sound like her dad was smothering her, when I didn’t see it exactly that way at all, all combined to make this book rated as a fun read requiring little effort exerted to enjoy oneself irrelevant to its weaknesses. It helped that Belles and Seaton were a cute couple.

A Familiar Sin is an enjoyable read and I liked it. It kept my interest because the focus was mainly on Belles and Seaton falling in love and overcoming the obstacles that were determined to thwart them. The threat from the villain was a nice touch because it stirred the plot and provided another element of interest to keep the pages turning. There’s a lot to appreciate about this little story and I recommend giving it a whirl.

Kabir is a victim of circumstance. He’s also swallowed by the lie but for him there is no escape. I felt bad for him but by the same token, I was impressed with his inexhaustible persistence in not giving up. His perseverance provided another catalyst that changed the course of his life as well as Tamanna and Chand’s.

I didn’t list M/F/M initially because I wasn’t too sure if it qualified. You see, Chand and Kabir share the same body but when Chand’s in charge, he has four arms yet Kabir is still around, floating in his own brain while his consciousness is ruled by Chand. I didn’t list M/M either because it was only a couple of sentences with one of the ‘priests’ and the changeover of Kabir to Chand. To say this is a busy book is an understatement.

When Tamanna is finally is alone with Chand is when the magic of this story occurs. The author systematically showed the heroine chipping away at the lust god’s stubbornness and inability to share. He tries to stay invulnerable but her treating him different that all the ones before and Kabir constantly needling him about it, wore the god down. That whole process was touching, sometimes sweet, oftentimes annoying for the heroine but the one that that never failed was the sex. Those scenes were well written and plentiful but my favorite is when Chand became confused with the non-sexual touch. What’s a lust god going to do with a nonsexual touch? I found that amusing and kind of endearing.

Ultimately, the three beings have to come to a decision. And as this is a romance, I was treated to an unusual happy ever after that was perfect for the characters. I found it rather sweet, in an understated sexy kind of way but a little funny too. For the three of them who started out with no hope to end up actually finding their own slice of happiness made this a pleasurable read and worth spending an hour or two with.

Sating the Lust God is a fun, entertaining and sexy read that really made the time fly. I enjoyed the unique dynamics of a threesome but in a twosome. I liked the progression of the dialogue – from arrogance to loving, from impatience to caring. It sure is a different kind of romance; there’s a lot to like and it’s why I have no hesitation in recommending this book to readers of erotic fantasy romance.

He is financially well off and continues to pursue business ventures. It appears he has never stopped loving Brandi and wants to give her what she needs and want. What girl couldn’t be happy with a guy like this? He doesn’t have a lot of experience with women, but seems to be in tune with his sexual self and has a creative sexual mind. To have such detailed adult parties, and specialty rooms in his mansion is really a creative idea, and the author did a great job in including this to the story line, kicking it up a notch. The author created a wonderful story here that had me drawn into this make believe world where purple men with wings and powers could actually appear out of thin air. I enjoyed this novella, and I personally think the plot is creative and very entertaining. The author did a great job with the paranormal concept, making it vivid and believable.

I enjoyed the chemistry between Haruto and Janinie, so much so when they were apart I was sad. And I can’t forget to mention the lava hot bedroom scenes, for added thrills some scenes weren’t even in the bedroom. Haruto did things to Janine’s body that had me reading with one hand covering one of my eyes. The author gave such vivid descriptions I felt ashamed like I was invading their privacy. Together they created such a bond that when apart no toy nor another could give them the sexual satisfaction or fulfill their personal desires.

Haruto and Janine may have met under a weird circumstance, did their bonding thing to replenish Haruto’s energy to get back to his world, and yes they called themselves going their separate ways. Two innocent people, one afraid to act on his emotions and the other for whatever reason not interested. Being in each other’s presence is all it took to ignite a spark.

The story has a fast moving plot that didn’t leave a dull moment. Along with sizzling hot hotel room action I enjoyed this quick read. The author’s plot delivered an interesting story line that was well written and a satisfying read.
