Doctor. Hero. Alien.

Time is running out. Victoria Mathers has tried everything. Her daughter has a rare cancer that hasn’t responded to any of the treatments human medicine has to offer. If she can’t convince the sexy alien doctor to help her, she knows she’ll watch her child die. Victoria will do anything to save her daughter, even if it means bonding with an alien for the rest of her life.

Per Earth’s rules, Xonos isn’t allowed to treat humans, unless they’re one of the new human-alien pairs. However, looking at the small human child who is obviously suffering tears at his heart. It’s been his life’s work to save people, and he isn’t sure he can stand by and watch an innocent child die when he might be able to help.

What starts as a simple arrangement quickly turns into something more as Xonos and Victoria grow closer. It isn’t long before she realizes that she yearns for his touch and she wants so much more from him than he may be willing to give. Love was never mentioned when they struck their bargain, but now she’ll settle for nothing less.

This is a melt-your-heart kind of story because the impetus for the plot is a mother’s passionate pursuit of trying to find a cure for her little girl. The author invested a lot of time into showing a reader just how precious and special the heroine’s daughter, Evie, is. It presented the perfect platform for two total strangers coming together to form a family. The depth of emotions between mother and child was well documented and well written.

That being the case, it’s not a huge surprise that the alien doctor, Xonos sees that past the pain of a desperate woman and instead realizes that the person he has before him is a woman of strength, courage and who possesses a deep capacity for love. But, can she love an alien? That is the question.

I really enjoyed this short story because it touched my emotions and made me feel. Granted, Xonos was almost too perfect in what he was willing to do and what he did do for the two new females in his life. Every obstacle was steamrolled over and in a way, the hero came off as an alien knight in shining armor – the conquering hero who doesn’t use a sword but a stethoscope and science to save the day. Once I realized that, I just relaxed and allowed myself to be entertained by a book that embodies the best of romance. The focus is on the people – their trials, their sacrifices, their hopes and dreams and the hope of a better tomorrow. It all works.

My favorite part is when Victoria sort of had to teach Xonos how to do a few things. I found that really sexy and a turn-on. She might have started off blushing but ended up screaming with delight. More than once. For a change, I was really happy when the hero and heroine burnt up the sheets. It wasn’t all thrusting lust, but fireworks of love.

Victoria and the Alien Doctor was incredibly romantic. It’s a story that makes a reader feel good. If you are having a rough day and need a break from stress and the frenetic demands of life, then this is a sweet book to take a short break with. I’m happy I read it.

Something’s got to give. Anyone with eyes can see Nicky and her men belong together. A couple of helping hands from unlikely, magical sources give Nicky what she needs — a second chance to claim her men — if only she’s got the courage to take what she wants…

This is a story for fans of friends to lovers. What I liked about this story was the progression and format. It starts off with a memory which established a history between Nicky, Taylor and Ross. Then comes the fateful moment when the heroine hears something that devastates her. Next comes the time of just existing, where the heroine, Nicky, lives a half-live of unrequited love. She values Taylor’s and Ross’s friendship too much to ever do something to destroy their relationship. She’s dying a slow emotional death. I liked that aspect, the focus on their humanity and feelings – she cares and has respect for the two men in her life, even if it hurts. At that point, all a reader wants is for Nicky to be happy.

I wasn’t the only one, and this is where the paranormal aspect comes in. There are two helpers in this romance that can only come from the woo-woo side of fiction. It’s never confirmed if the woman is a witch or not but the man/beast left me in no doubt that there’s something other going on. It’s what was needed to get all three protagonists to wake up and TALK. It turns out that the heroine could dress sexy and speak sultry and huskily all she wants but the real turn on is when all three talk and the unvarnished truth comes out. That’s when the cementing of the romance takes place and the sex explodes. From then on the writing is hot, frenetic and delivers what erotic romance readers enjoy.

One part of erotic writing that doesn’t work for me is the technique of using fantasies with masturbation. It’s not a plus for me but for many readers it is and they enjoy it. If that’s the case for a reader looking at this review, then it’s an endorsement because the writing is well done and the author does have a good imagination. Certainly the scene makes clear that Nicky really is head over heels for Taylor and Ross.

Fortune’s Favor has a well-executed happy ever after that fully satisfied the romantic in me. It’s a quick read and has what fans of short erotic romances look for – passion with a purpose. It’s worth checking out.

Sure enough, their idyllic life is interrupted when Robbie shows up, threatening not only Tony, but Yves as well.

Yves is pleased that Tony is settling in. Working the late Janitor shift at the Auction House gives Tony a bit of spare cash, but also allows Yves to keep an eye on his boy. Although their relationship is new, Yves knows it’s quite serious for him, and he has no intention of letting Tony change his mind on their commitment. They’re both learning more about each other, and Yves is loving every moment. When Tony’s old pimp finds them however, the perfection of their time together comes under threat. Will Yves be able to navigate this properly for the happy ending he so badly wants with Tony?

I really enjoyed this short story. While it’s not necessary to have read “Tony” (another Shibari Auction House short story by Sean Michael and set time-wise just before this one) I feel the reader can take more away from Yves having seen the two men come together earlier. That said, this can easily be read as a stand alone and still be thoroughly enjoyed to my mind.

There is quite a bit of progression between Yves and Tony’s relationship, which I really enjoyed. I would have preferred to learn a bit more about each man outside their relationship, but considering the length of the story I can well understand how practically impossible this would have been for the author. I would have loved the story to be longer though.

The sub-plot of Tony’s ex-pimp is a good one, and resolved satisfactorily. While this plot felt a bit rushed toward the end, again I have no complaint that the words were spent deepening the bonds between Yves and Tony. There’s only so much one can do in so few pages. The sex is hot and mildly kinky. Enough of a bite to whet the appetite but not so harsh that I feel any other readers need particular trigger warnings. I would think that readers who enjoy their M/M erotica with a bit of BDSM and fooling around should find this comfortable and hot.

I found this to be a delicious short story with a satisfying balance of plot, characterization and smoking hot sex. Recommended.

Calita can’t understand what has happened to her brother or the other employees at her magazine. Everyone seems to be obsessed with sex, and then she saw this big guy sitting in her office. From the top of his pink haired head to the bottom of his high heeled feet, this guy was dressed all in pink. Her first thoughts was, who is that and why is it in her office.

Pink was a strange book, it started off with this big pink sprite pumping out Lust dust and everyone around him losing control. I thought that it would be one of those books that I would regret reading but, imagine my surprise when I realized that I was actually enjoying the book. I love reading books about Faes, Were’s, Gods and Goddesses, and Pink had a little bit of all that in it. I loved that Pinks father was the god of Love but didn’t really display any love especially towards him. Love’s wife and Pinks stepmother was the goddess of Peace but didn’t make anything peaceful.

The character of Calita was strong and she didn’t take nonsense from anyone, since she really didn’t believe in stuff like that, she actually thought he was transgender. After all he did wear a skirt and dressed like a woman. I enjoyed Calita because she didn’t bite her tongue, she told off his parents when they came to try and bully Pink into leaving with them. I also like that she gave him a closet as his office and told him that she would tell him when he could come out of the closet. There were a few humorous tongue in cheek moments in this book like that one which helped make the story flow nicely.

Pink is definitely a cute story, it is short but you do get a sense of who the characters are and you root for Pink and Calita to find their way to each other.

Tony’s been on the street for a long time, and now he’s also on the run from his pimp. He’s waiting for the other shoe to drop and for Yves to turn out to be a serial killer.

Can anything real come out of this chance meeting?

Yves is closing up the Shibari Auction House for the Christmas break. When a young man, barely dressed properly against the freezing weather steps out and propositions Yves, the man quickly makes up his mind. He has plenty of food and a warm spare room. Yves gives Tony the money and takes him home, wanting the young man to not be cold and hungry over the holiday season. At first Tony is completely baffled – who pays just to have a rent boys platonic company? – but soon he finds himself relaxing, and he knows how dangerous that can be.

This is a short, wonderful story. I loved how patient Yves is, and how street smart Tony is. Despite his initial suspicion, underneath his street weariness is a soft, charming young guy. I also really enjoyed the pacing of this story. Tony isn’t the sort of character that struck me as one who would just immediately lower his guard. He’s a whore and has been on the street for a number of years. While he’d happily give out a blow job or spend the night in some stranger’s bed for the right amount of money, opening his heart and giving his trust are worth far more than cash could ever buy. And since Yves is only interested in Tony’s heart and trust, it was bound to take time, patience and skill for them both to get there. Watching that unfold was magical to me.

This slower pace, even for such a short story, felt exactly right and I loved the small gestures, the careful easing of Tony into Yves’ life. Tony was resistant, distrustful at first and that made the slow seduction even sweeter for me. This is an amazing story about two men coming together over Christmas, and how a weary soul can learn to trust and love once again. An amazing story and one I’d strongly recommend.

Hurt Me Good had a suspenseful quality to it. There was so much of the world building to absorb, at times, I needed to go back to the same paragraphs again and again to be sure of the scene and details. It only increased my interest and made me determined to finish the book.

Ms. Steele did a good job of creating this paranormal world considering this is a short story. I was sad to see the story end since I wanted more and more of the story and the characters.

This was the first book in the series though and I think the books to come could bring to light a lot of the answers to the questions I have right now. Miss Steele gave enough to spark my interest and yet, held back enough details to make me want come back to keep an eye out for the next book in the series.

There was passion, chemistry and loss in the story that would touch a lot of hearts.

One small issue I had with a character, Barringer had more than one nick name. It confused me for a couple of pages until I got a hang of it. I wasn’t sure if it was an editing mistake or on purpose and therefore took me out of the story for a bit. Not too long, though.

I loved reading this story because of the main plot. The twists and turns that led to the vampire falling in love with a demi and the demi finding out more about her past through one person that she never expected it from. The ending was very very surprising but I loved it.

Hurt Me Good is a cleverly written story with twists that kept me on the edge. A great read for any vampire lovers.

The plot is relatively small. There were some questions that arose and are still with me mostly because there is very little background information to help a reader out.

The chemistry and passion between Tom and Evaline steams up this short story but Tom’s inability to be serious, other than in bed, made for a nice tension breaker. Hot and steamy with a side of humor.

Ms. McCall impressed me with this novelette. Each chapter is packed with a lot of information. The author used the minimum amount of words yet she still provided the emotional connection between a reader and her characters and I really got into the story. I didn’t feel cheated or shortchanged in any aspect of this tale. Ms. McCall truly knows her craft.

It really got intense a few times making this one of the fastest read stories in months. I enjoyed every second of it and couldn’t stop reading until I finished it, in one sitting. Amazing!

I liked how the author presented Kissa to a reader in the beginning. It successfully garnered my sympathy and interest. And yes, even though the mating scent ploy is used, I liked how Clay and Kissa interacted. It didn’t come across as trite, fast, gratuitous or pat. It was natural, believable and thoroughly entertaining and satisfying. I kept waiting for the characters to say or do the one thing that would trip up the whole story and it never happened. This was a complete joy to read.

I will point out my niggle about Dan. Considering who he was and what has happening to the people in the bar, I have no clue as to why he was not targeted by the bad guys, because he should have been. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad he wasn’t because he was a nice guy. He still was a perfectly good target and it never materialized. Considering how bloody efficient the bad guys turned out to be, that was a glaring oversight.

Since this is an erotic romance, it’d be remiss of me not to mention how delicious their sex scenes were. They were well done, well placed and were definitely a lot of fun to read. Clay and Kissa are wonderful together.

This review is a joy to write because I still have a happy buzz going on from reading Clay. This little gem is an easy recommend for all paranormal romance readers. Ms. McCall has written a keeper.
