The song grated on his nerves every time someone hummed it. But what could he expect, being named Danny Grinch and living in Christmas Town U.S.A.? Being the wood craftsman and the creator of Unique Toys didn’t help matters. He was the go to guy for crafted toys around the holidays and while everyone else were enjoying the season. He worked up till Christmas Eve to fill orders.

But maybe this year would be different with his new shop helper, Tia Davis. With skin like cappuccino and a silver streak in her hair, she came in to the shop each morning with a cup of hot chocolate and a smile just for him. Danny felt his attraction grow with each passing day and vowed to make Tia his naughty little elf. Especially after their first kiss, he saw another side of Tia that wasn’t just cheerful. She was wickedly arousing — and damn if he didn’t want more.

Few people have any idea what their coworkers do when they’re not at work, but Tia and Danny might just find out the answer to this question.

The chemistry between the two main characters was sizzling hot. What I adored the most about their interactions was how much history there already was between them. The fact that they’d known each other for so long before the events of this tale began meant that there weren’t any awkward moments of introduction. They already knew so much about each other as friends that the transition to something that might be more than that was a silky smooth one.

There was one subplot that I would have liked to see more attention paid to understanding it. It involves Tia’s mother and so much time was spent building up to what it might be that I was surprised by how it was handled once it was finally discussed. The subject matter of this subplot was interesting both on its own, as well as what it showed me about the characters who were involved in it. All it needed was more time to develop and a sense of closure.

Both of the main characters in this tale had fascinating backstories. While I can’t say anything about them without giving away spoilers, of course, but I really liked getting to know both Danny and Tia as complicated, nuanced individuals. It made me wish even harder that they’d find their happy ending than I might have otherwise.

Silver Bells made me smile. I’d recommend it to anyone who is in the mood for something romantic.

Then, on Christmas Eve, Emily Olson’s grandmother gets run over by a reindeer…

Jonathan and Emily know how to put in a hard day’s work. Neither one of them seems to remember how to play, though, and everyone knows what they say about all work and no play…

The dialogue was amusing. Many of the characters seemed to share the same sense of humor, so they often played off of each other in order to make certain jokes to the audience. I giggled my way through a lot of the non-sexual scenes because of this. These sections were lively and enjoyable to read.

I would have liked to see the narrator spend a little more time on Emily and Jonathan. While all of the secondary characters were definitely interesting and funny, the amount of attention the plot gave to them meant that the main characters didn’t have quite enough scenes that focused on their personalities and why they might make a good couple. This technique would have worked really well in a longer short story or a novella, but it didn’t quite gel together for me for something of this length.

With that being said, I did appreciate how much time the author took to let the tension build up between Jonathan and Emily. The slow and steady pacing in the beginning worked nicely with what I was able to figure out about their personalities as neither one of them came across to me as the kind of person who takes a lot of risks.

Jingle Buds was full of Christmas magic. It should be read by anyone who loves that time of year.

Chaz would far rather be with her. She’s one sexy handful. With Christmas near, both fantasies may just come true and maybe they’ll find their own happily-ever-after along the way.

It’s one thing to give someone a surprise. It’s quite another to surprise them with a herd of reindeer.

Ms. Kerce has an incredibly descriptive writing style that pulled me into every single scene. From the taste of lasagne to the sight of reindeer adjusting to their new home, I felt like I was standing next to the characters and experiencing everything through their eyes from the beginning to the end. This was the first time I’d ever read one of this author’s stories, but I will be keeping an eye out for what she comes up with next.

While I was amused by the idea of Cherry delivering reindeer to Chaz instead of the horses he was expecting, I would have really liked to see more time spent developing this plot twist. Chaz’s reactions to the big surprise weren’t always consistent with how I would have expected this character to behave based on what the narrator shared about his personality previously. It would have been helpful to spend more time on this so that I could have a better understanding of whether or not he was acting like his normal self. If not for this issue, I would have chosen a much higher rating for this book.

The saucy dialogue made me grin. Both of the main characters were witty and intelligent, so they were always ready to say cheeky things to each other when the mood was right. What made their conversations even better was that Chaz and Cherry were so equally matched intellectually speaking. I liked seeing how their banter carried over into the sex scenes, too.

Give Christmas Cowboy a try if you’re in the mood for something playful.

Some people are born to be parents. Is Vixen one of them? More importantly, will her chosen mate agree to have a calf with her?

Getting to know Vixen was so much fun. Her personality shone through from the very first scene, and I only liked her even more as the plot progressed. She was smart, sociable, and knew exactly what she wanted from life. These are all traits that a reindeer shifter needs in this universe, so I was glad to see that the main character had them all.

There were some pacing issues that were especially noticeable in the middle portion of this book. The beginning and ending were paced pretty well, but the middle didn’t have quite as many plot developments the sections before and after it. This made this section feel like it was moving much more slowly than the rest of the tale. Either pacing style could have worked if the narrator had stuck with it, but switching between them in something this short was jarring for me.

The chemistry between Vixen and Dasher was perfect. I really rooted for them to end up together because of how nicely they got along and how much they seemed to enjoy each other’s company. This is the kind of stuff I really like to see in these types of stories. Their pasts were only mentioned briefly, but hearing about them only made me want to see these two characters get together even more.

I’d recommend Vixen to fans of erotica and fantasy alike.

Emily is a soldier and the love of her life is on the other side of the law. What could go wrong, right?

Emily and Cob haven’t seen each other in a while and with good reason. The author gave the barebones version of history. This story is extremely short but not boring. However, I was intrigued and would have liked to have read more about their past.

The story begins after their separation. Emily is given the responsibility to escort a shipment of medical supplies. But everything goes wrong when they are attacked. Emily is strong and smart. Smart enough to suspect who might have ordered the attack and know that the only chance of finding her men and safeguarding the shipment is her ex-husband. There was nice side of intrigue in this story that gave it some layers I wasn’t expecting.

The moment she sees him again she is back to where they started. Will they be able to go past their hurdles and make a life for themselves as well as save the world from another possible pandemic? I was hooked and couldn’t wait to see how the author worked out the details.

Sci-fi hasn’t been a genre that I’ve reached for in a long time but I was glad I gave this one a try. Even though it’s short it’s a pretty good sci-fi story that readers who want to try this genre may totally go for. If nothing else, it was a nice way to sample this author’s voice.

Life is about to get interesting in Pine Valley…

A twisted love story.

That’s the one phrase that just popped into my head when I started writing this review. It was a pretty short story but one I loved. The characters were different. I liked the fact that there was a past or a back story that hung over this whole story and the passion burned hot between Greg and Kinsey.

I felt the characters shined though more than the plot itself. The author did a good job of writing it but I felt that this story could do well written as a series though I couldn’t find other books in this series by this author. My reason for saying that is that the back story was heavy. I kept wondering half way through if there is a first book? Or is this the first one? It felt like I’d jumped right in the middle of the book. It wasn’t until I did a search for SOS Multi-author that I found that there are actually several books by different authors with this special division (SOS or Special Outreach Services) of the US Game & Wildlife as a running theme.

That being said I loved reading about Greg and his former lover turned agent interactions… it was breath of fresh air from the normal I hate you turned but I love you trope. ( You know, the stories where the main characters first hate each other than fall in love… Coyote Games is one of them.) There’s action, suspense hot steamy romance between the characters and a mystery that needs solving.

It’s a quick read and great for when a reader is looking for a hot love story but doesn’t have time for a lengthy novel.

Hot, kinky, uncomfortable sex where all the power is given to Laska – exactly how the three of them like it. But Laska enjoys turning the two men’s worlds upside down, and while he might be down, he’s far from being out.

This is a short but smoking hot read. I really enjoyed how the author showed us how three strong, forceful sports men could turn so much testosterone, anger and fear into a sensual but still masculine menage. None of the men backed down, they all remained strong characters, but the angry “hate sex” actually held a wealth of emotion and subtle undertones. I loved how the author showed despite the clear dominance and submission roles the character plays, there’s so much more under the surface. And when strong, alpha men come together with so much heat and affection, there’s nothing quite as delicious to my mind.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, so much more than just a simple menage. There are many undertones to it and while I found the ending satisfying, it’s a Happy For Now finish, questions about the future are left unanswered. The sex ranges from the hard and hot to the soft and gentle, like a wonderful piece of music. I found myself breathless by the end, caught up in the story and eager for more. I loved this quick read and felt the author rounded out the intimacy shared by the three men very well.

A delightfully dark and hot read. Recommended.

The Corelli twins come as a package deal. For some women, that might be a problem, but Michelle’s up to the challenge. She’s willing to let them wine and dine her for two weeks, tempting her with a sensual feast of prime loin, and whetting her hunger for a double-decker sandwich ala Corelli, but is this workaholic ready to give up the “Real World” she left behind for two extraordinary men?

In this tale things are not as they appear and not as believed which made for some interesting reading. Jonathan is the vampire and Jason is the werewolf, or are they? Ms. Anthony presented an interesting twist on twins and I found it fascinating.

A reader will find a plethora of paranormal surprises as the mystery of the curse that plagues the two heroes is eventually resolved. The dilemma that the heroine, Chelle, faces isn’t solely about being able to love the two men at the same time. No, the author has another more dire decision for her to make and it becomes clear upon meeting her mysterious potential mother-in-law. Personally, I didn’t like the heroes’ mom at all. At first she seemed alright, until she started with her story – then I found her rather selfish. I’m glad Chelle had a few choice words for her; I felt the same.
.
The editing was fine in this tale and the descriptions of the island’s environs sounded beautiful and a place I’d love to visit. Dialogue kept the pace of the story going smoothly and it got quite heated when Chelle, Jon and Jason finally commit to the physical tango. Erotic romance readers should find enough to enjoy because the author provided a lot of threesome action. Perhaps the author waxed a bit poetic with some of the descriptions, and was a bit enthusiastic with all the dialogue during the sex or loving which felt a bit overdone but they were still fun to read.

The one area that I should perhaps give a heads up about is only a few paragraphs but some readers might appreciate knowing. Chelle has to accept both men in all their facets and that includes time spent with a furry Jason – wolf and woman. Ms. Anthony made sure to inject emotion and sympathy for Jason’s plight so when the reality of them coming together happened it was more erotic than it otherwise would have been. Here too, the author was creatively and enthusiastically descriptive.

As with any good romance, there’s a happy ever after, but the author was clever and kept me dangling for a bit. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen so I was especially intrigued and fascinated. I’m happy with the outcome and thought the last sentence cute and clever. Dinner for Three was an entertaining short story, and a nice way to relax for an afternoon especially with an ice cold beverage, extra on the ice.

But Zara has no intention of embracing captivity. While she’s willing to exchange blood for blood, maybe even play a kinky game or two with the handsome vampire dominant, he’s still the enemy. She can’t allow herself to see him as anything more.

Then Rand’s enemies make things a lot more complicated…

I give high marks for the stunningly imaginative sex scene that Ms. Knight created in Armored Hearts. Because this is science fiction, the author was able to let her imagination run wild and what she came up with was sexy, titillating, exciting and completely unique. If I could have an experience like that just once, I’m pretty sure I’d probably end up speaking gibberish because the afterglow would be so overwhelming, if I could speak at all. The description was mind blowing. The story is really good but this scene is the brightest gem in the treasure chest.

Zara and Rand are on opposite sides of a conflict. The author created the sense of otherworldliness by word usage and references to objects that are common place to her characters but are pure science fiction fantasy and it was a lot of fun seeing what Ms. Knight came up with. Yet, the war that Zara is fighting in and the villains she’s fighting against parallel our own earthly struggles. It was easy to connect and relate to the heroine’s devotion to fight. Rand, on the other hand, isn’t on the villain’s side because he believes in the cause, but because he’s a paid fighter. He has a brain and a stronger moral fiber than the minions around him. As such, the hero comes to the decision that money isn’t everything. Sometimes a person has to take a stand against injustice and vicious tyranny but it becomes even easier when you have something beyond yourself to fight for. In this case, love. Tara’s ‘it’ for him, but they’re surrounded by the bad guys, so how is he going to get them both out alive? The hero has a plan. That was fun reading.

Except for a few missing word blips in the editing, this short story is flawless. Ms. Knight manages to give a reader a meaty plot, a noble cause, exciting shoot ‘em ups and examples of vampire fighting prowess. The author also gives erotic romance readers plenty of eroticism to enjoy and be entertained by, and they were placed within the story where they played a role in developing the relationship between Rand and Zara. Whenever I read a book written by Ms. Knight, I am always satisfied on so many levels. She gives her characters heart, she gives readers a reason to care, and love is always the greatest reward.

If a reader is seeking a short story that has the taste and feel of a full novel, but takes a fraction of the time to read and enjoy, then pick up a copy of Armored Hearts. It’s a sure pleaser.
