Reclusive songwriter Samuel Baird lives on a remote Arkansas mountain drinking his life away. The last thing he wants is a woman to complicate things but during a spectacular thunderstorm, a woman arrives just in time to save his life. She says she comes from the late 1800’s and he thinks she is crazy but Annie still manages to gain his attention and affection. To reach a happily ever after, Samuel and Annie must overcome several obstacles, past and present, but in the end, they find the happiness that they seek.

Samuel Baird is disillusioned with life. Betrayed and divorced by his wife and the loss of his job, he has retreated to an isolated cabin on Rich Mountain where he buries his sorrows in the whiskey bottle. Several years later he dreams of a woman. When the real woman turns up in the middle of a storm Samuel thinks he’s dreaming but she’s still there in the morning.

Anna believes she has come forward in time over 100 years but Samuel finds this difficult to believe. He admits Anna is a bit strange in the way she speaks and some of her actions. It is liked by all cheap levitra the people would use Kamagra. Oral medication such as cialis 10 mg has revolutionized the cure of erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation is Dapoxetine which is marketed as cialis. How can he prove she’s wrong? Will he be able stop himself falling in love with this orphan from the storm?

For a man who has no respect for himself, our hero is soft and gentle when it comes to Anna. He doesn’t want to frighten her and finds it nice to have someone look after him for once. Unexpected visitors, family problems and illness force both of them to face the truth and ask if there is any future for them.

I’m not sure whether I really liked Samuel, but Anna was sweet and tender; the type of woman I’d want to have as a friend and neighbor. At first I thought the story would be too introspective but as I read on I found it pulled me in until I wanted to find out what would happen next. The scenery surroundomg the main characters was vivid. I could see the view from the cabin deck, the lodge on the top of the mountain and the cemetery. The author has a way with words that brings the story to life.

This is a lovely soft romance with no highs or lows, but it does have an element of doubt. How can a woman who believes she’s from the past cope with modern day equipment and morals? What can Samuel offer to any woman when he buries himself in the bottle instead of facing his fears?

There’s no “daring do” in this book. To me the ideal time and place to read it would be curled up beside the fire on a winter’s evening so I could relax into the moment and enjoy a cosy love story.

Kelly Matthews has every intention of forgetting the ravishing vampire who’d stolen her heart a year ago, but their blood bond will not let her forget. Add the fact that her dance company would be performing in his home town of Paris, France. Kelly fears what will happen if she sees him again and worse…what if she doesn’t?

A punch in the nose is the last thing Jacques expects when he comes face to face with Kelly for the first time since leaving her a year ago. Now convincing her that he made a mistake and getting her back into his life is the hard part.

But another weaves his way into Kelly’s mind. She is the very image of a love lost to him one hundred fifty years ago and nothing will stop him from reclaiming her. Jacques is determined to protect her, but his new enemy—once a friend and a teacher—is older and stronger and Jacques will risk all to ensure Kelly remains forever his.

Break my heart once, shame on you. But break it twice, and shame on me for giving you a second chance. That is the motto that Kelly Matthews has lived by since Jacques Deveraux vanished from her life over a year ago. He was the man of her dreams, and after willingly giving over not only her heart but her blood to save him, he just left without even an explanation. Will meeting him again soften Kelly’s heart or is it too damaged to be opened again?

Jacques has been in love with Kelly since the first day he met her, and hasn’t been able to stop thinking about her once in the time since he left her. If only she could understand that he is protecting her by staying away. Word comes to him that Kelly will be back in Paris, and no matter the consequences Jacques can’t seem to stay away. The light inside Kelly draws him, and nothing will stand in his way of having her for eternity this time. Will a man from Jacques’s past put the love of his life in mortal danger or can Jacques keep her safe long enough for her to know the truth about him as the man he is?

I have been a fan of vampire themed books, since before Twilight and the Sookie Stackhouse days, and this book reminds me of why I love the genre. I found I was rooting for Jacques and Kelly to get together in the end almost from the first meeting. Ann Lory really made this a story to get into, and I was sucked in from the beginning and dreaded the end of the book. I would love to see more stories about this band of vampires, maybe even a series to tell the stories of everyone else involved in the gathering of Kelly and Jacques. Ann Lory is an author to watch out for, and would make a great addition to any vampire lovers’ collection.

Special Agent Rainie McClain wants out. Out of The Agency. Out of the shadow life that has consumed her for far too long. Walking away from The Agency means letting go of the only man she’s ever loved, her husband, Captain Roc Branson. But at thirty-eight, Rainie has seen all the violence and death she can handle. And after discovering she’s pregnant, she just wants a normal life. But what can be normal about the reappearance of a long lost brother who may or may not be a sadistic killer, the heartrending demise of her marriage, and the web of lies that grows until she no longer knows who to trust? It’s vital that she discover the truth soon…because what she doesn’t know, just might kill her.

Agents with the Agency must not get involved with each other. Rainie and Roc were unable to abide by this rule. They fell in love and got secretly married, but now things are going sour.

Freefall kept me mystified and on edge to the end. Fast moving with action, danger and love I was never sure what was going to happen next. Never mind that Rainie didn’t know who to trust, I didn’t know who she should trust either. One thing I didn’t feel at ease with was she did a lot of internal thinking which slowed the story down.

Jared Dunefaellan, Captain of the king’s standing army, has managed to carve out a name for himself. After several victories, he is feared and respected, and is about to reclaim Wiekken’s most prized city, Lleweyan. But he is running out of time; already his genetic disease is maturing, changing him into the hateful man his father became. Before he can win the war, however, he’ll have to first conquer his addictions of alcoholism, sexual dysfunction and extremely distracting feelings for his best friend. In the meantime, Tarika is being forced to wed a tyrant, and Nathaniel reveals a shocking secret that throws their world into chaos. Everything comes to a head on a pirate ship of all things, and the prophecies surrounding Jared and Tarika play out in surprising, and occasionally disastrous, ways.

Demons, wars and relationship tangles form the basis of this book. Set in an age when wars are fought with swords from horseback, two countries try to overcome each other in battle. Love tangles unravel then become entangled again.

Jared fights for the Wiekkenians against their enemy – the Danarsic army. There are many women in his life but the one he loves is Tarika the King’s illegitimate daughter. She loves Jared but also loves Nathaniel who returns her love. Other women appear in Jared’s life but every day he has to fight the demon within.

Temptation appears in many forms for Jared. He is enamored of Seline, leader of the Danarsic army. Tarika holds his affection but this does not stop him taking other women to his bed.

In the Prologue, Jared suggests it would be best to read the previous books before starting this one. This option was not open to me but I assumed it would be like previous series I’d read – confusing at first but becoming clear the further I got into the book.

At first this appeared to be the case, but parts of the background of the characters were still a mystery by the time I reached the end of the book. This spoilt my enjoyment as I had no idea of the reasons for some references. For example no explanation was given for why Jared kept mentioning London and Earth when the inference was he’d been born and brought up on this planet.

Night of the Fox is not a light read. It has depth not usually found in romances. Although I found parts of the book confusing, I did enjoy reading it. The depth of the characters in this part of their lives was well written, making me feel their pain, their love and their reactions to others around them. On the whole a good story but you definitely need to read the previous two books before you embark on this one.

Samantha Van Skyhawk’s, life is in terrible danger—and her unlife may just be beginning. Samantha’s dad is a vampire and soon, she too will change. She flees with her mom and brother to Shadow Falls to find the spell to kill the vampire blood flowing through her veins. When Samantha encounters Brent, a human with the most bewitching smile, things get complicated. She doesn’t have time for a romance, not with the daunting task of defeating a vampire who has been around for centuries. Then Samantha meets Drake, a totally hot vampire, who claims she belongs with him and the darkness within her completely agrees. She must fight her incredible urge to be with Drake and the yearning within her soul to become what she fears most. Will she save herself and those she loves or will she embrace the night forever?

Will Samantha’s blood betray her?

Darkness Within starts off at a fast pace and doesn’t let up until the very end. Samantha is in a race against time. She must kill the vampire blood in her veins before her seventeenth birthday or it will take over and she’ll truly be a member of the undead. I found the concept of “killing” the vampire blood in a person with a spell interesting, and not something I remember coming across in other vampire stories.

I liked Samantha. She has a lot of information dumped on her in a very short amount of time. Not only does she learn that vampires, werewolves, and witches exist, but that she is also part vampire and witch. She completely freaks out at first, which I think is the normal reaction any sane person would have. However, she eventually accepts the truth of her situation and commits herself to figuring out a way to save herself and protect her family. Her devotion to her family is certainly admirable.

As if dealing with her paranormal heritage weren’t enough, Samantha has two boys vying for her affection. Herbal Weight Loss Products Possibly one of the most well-liked purposes for herbal items would be to improve fat loss. viagra on line order Sildenafil citrate is the concoction synthesis in this generic pharmaceutical that gives erections manageable for four hours in barrenness influenced guys. cost of viagra These chemicals work wonderfully to amp up sexual desires and get couples more stimulated. cheap viagra from india It strengthens tadalafil soft tabs weak tissues through ensuring higher production of testosterone. Brent is the classic good guy. He’s always willing to lend a hand and he demonstrates incredible patience and understanding when it comes to Samantha’s situation. On the other hand, Drake is the bad boy tempting Samantha to the dark side. While I truly believe that Samantha’s initial attraction to both boys is genuine, her relationship with both progressed too fast. She meets both boys soon after she arrives in town and immediately falls in love with both. I found this a little hard to swallow because it didn’t seem like Samantha had spent enough time with either boy to really get to know them. Consequently, I felt that Brent and Drake’s characters could have been developed a bit further. Brent is the good guy and Drake is the bad guy. Beyond that, I know very little about either. There were moments when I thought more would be revealed, but then the pace picked up again and I was left wanting more depth.

The biggest issue that I have with the story is that there were too many unanswered questions by the time the story ended. I had questions about Samantha’s father and his situation and why it took so long for her to figure things out about him. Why did Samantha’s mom want her daughter to live a “normal” life, but chose to tell her son about his heritage as a witch? These and other questions filled my mind as I read, and I kept hoping they would be answered. However, when Darkness Within ended, I found myself wishing there had been more detail and background information to round the story out.

Despite this issue, I thought Darkness Within was a good read. The plot was interesting and unique, and Samantha is certainly a sweetheart. Since the story is short and fast paced, it is possible to enjoy it in a single sitting. Anyone looking for a quick, entertaining paranormal YA romance should consider Darkness Within.

Sensible Caroline, the eldest Benedict daughter, is determined to help make ends meet. But in order to do that, she must consider leaving not only the job she loves, but the man who has her heart—a man engaged to someone else. Her mother Susan, whose social skills and volunteer work helped make her husband rich and successful, is booted out of the family home when her ex’s trophy wife wants the social status the address will bring her. Caroline’s two younger sisters, Megan, the artist and Alison, the musician, are yanked from their private schools when Daddy pulls the financial plug.

All four women doubt their ability to make the transitions necessary to enter successfully into their new life-style, but deep within each lies a well of strength only adversity can uncover.

Money, like a crippling disease, had stymied the maturation of the four intelligent and talented Benedict women. Susan and her three daughters had played their parts well in her ex-husband Daniel’s rise to success—success that proved to a stumbling block for the whole family. Of course, the stumbling block was manipulated by the new wife Sharlene.

Susan, married at twenty-two years of age, had never had a “real” job. Even though she had a teaching degree, she’d chosen to support Daniel in his ambitious climb to success. She’d organized and helped with charity events, did volunteer work, gave perfect dinner parties for Daniel’s business associates, and seen to their three daughters having the best schools and rearing of any of the children in the upscale Belford society—none of these endeavors earned a salary. Daniel had provided the money. Now, three years after the divorce he is taking away the Belford estate and the generous allowances for each of them.

Susan and the daughters: Caroline, Allison, and Megan must vacate the big beautiful home, find alternate housing, and manage on what Susan can earn, child support for Megan, and tuition for state school for Megan and Allison—no more expensive private schools.

How the four cope with their change in social status and life style is much like a “rite of passage” long delayed.

Caroline’s angst over his upcoming wedding and her need to earn a wage to support herself is a stress-filled sub-plot that forces her to “grow up”.

Allison, so talented, has pursued her music education in the prestigious private Bryce Anthony Music Conservatory in Chicago. Her temperament, that got her labeled “drama queen” early on in her life, makes her an unsympathetic character at times. Her blindness to see anything but what she wants gets her into a heartbreaking situation. Yet, hope waits in the wings for her to “grow up” and see the admirable worthiness of others.

The youngest, Megan, still in the prestigious, private Willowby Preparatory school, is an artist who wants to be an architect. However, she has neglected to keep her grades up and she acts out in an effort to get her dad’s attention. At one time he had lavished attention her—before Sharlene. Megan is a miserable, self-centered, spoiled teenager. Her adjustment makes for some heartbreaking reading.

The male characters recede into the background most of the time, even though they are instrumental in the “growing up” of the four Benedict women. None of the men seem to have that modern, polished alpha male quality, yet a couple of them are quiet, gentle heroes to be admired.

While I longed for a more in-depth development of the characters, and more romance, Certainly Sensible kept my attention—not in a breath-holding, page-turning way but in a wanting-to-know way—wanting to know how the Benedict women overcome such a devastating change of fortune. Getting to see all four women find an inner strength, a sense of purpose, accomplishment, and self-worth is most satisfying.

In fact, she’s ready to change everything in her life, and right now, a man is the last thing she wants.

When gorgeous bartender Jeremy wanders into her store, she’s willing to reconsider what she wants right now, but he’s off the menu: he’s here for an engagement ring.

But as Jeremy comes back again and again to look at the ring, Amber suspects it’s not just the price that keeps him from taking it home. She’d never dream of sabotaging someone’s relationship, but is Jeremy about to make a huge mistake?

You might be forgiven for thinking this is going to be a Valentine story, but not so. It is much more. Yes it begins with the run-up to Valentine’s Day in an upscale jewelry store. The ideal job, meeting all the rich and influential clients, every day? All that flash and bling. And the staff, demure well dressed and eager to please?

Instead Ms Gallagher’s Amber, a genuine and eager-to-help member of staff disenchanted by her clients, her job and her ex boyfriend, tells her story.

Disengaged opens with Amber on the cusp of a new life and not knowing what to do about it, or how to attain her dreams, put on hold so long ago. The sex scene while graphic is celebratory and totally in keeping with the story and the characters.

One advantage of short stories is that when one grips you as hard as this one did me, you have time to read it right through without interruption.

This story earned its rating because of the author’s fluent writing style the fully rounded and likable characters, the conflicts and how the characters make logical assessments at critical stages in the tale and finally the ‘feel-good’ factor I came away with when I finished the book.

A strong attraction flares between them which they both recognize is doomed, and Simon must also fight his superior’s prejudice that Morag’s beliefs make her a threat to the Vice President. When Morag is attacked, Simon’s loyalties are torn between protecting the man he’s sworn to protect, and protecting the woman he loves.

Morag has a fun and interesting job: she works for the theatre. She gets to be part of the production by dressing the stars. When a very important person, oh say, the Vice President of the United States wants to fulfill his dream by being in the production for one night, Morag is slightly less than thrilled.

Morag is a different character than many heroines. She’s a Wiccan, and she’s not afraid to show it. She’s honest, doesn’t keep her feelings back. Assumption of Right is a thrill ride. I loved the idea that the career of the heroine centered around the theater. I am always interested in a story with that kind of plot in it. The tension is high, the characters are believable and memorable. All around this is quite an enjoyable story. Ms. Aidan takes the reader on an adventure they soon won’t forgot.

The Civil War brought casualties beyond the bloody battlefields as North fought South. Philip Burke, against his family’s wishes, volunteered to defend the Union and became a prisoner of war who bartered his medical expertise to remain out of prison. When the Union Army invaded Tennessee, Clarissa Wakefield’s antebellum mansion became a Confederate hospital. Philip was placed in charge and against propriety she volunteered to stay on and help nurse the wounded. Clarissa’s husband was a Confederate soldier and Philip’s fiancée waited for him in Oswego but the fire between them soon raged out of control. As the opposing armies fought for possession of Chattanooga, Clarissa and Philip faced their own battle. Caught in the passions of war and love, with hurt inevitable either way, would they be faithful to their vows or listen to their hearts?

This Time Forever is the most apt title; truly, throughout this wonderful Civil War Epic, your heart swells with the hope and belief that this time it is indeed true love; that this time, in spite of all that is happening in the world, love will find a way.

From the first moments, This Time Forever has a sentimental appeal that pervades and increases with the turn of every page. The characters are simply so engaging, you cannot help but hope for the best for them. Philip will soon be a surgeon, and his efforts to affect the look of sophistication contrast slightly with his more important ideals. He is a young man with concerns about becoming the man he wants to be, even who he is, is not quite who his family expects. Readers, certainly, find him admirable. He fulfills expectations, even if in a fairly unique way.

Clarissa Giles Wakefield is and is not the heroine we expect to find! On the one hand, she lives up to family expectations, on the other, she realizes something about unfairness in her own life and from that seems to recognize it in others. She’s comes with baggage…important baggage. She’s lovely and southern and so much more. From the first moment we meet her, we feel for her, and hope she becomes the firebrand she ought to be!
