I love this world that Ms. Cunning has built, and her characters are engaging and well developed, with many facets to uncover as you get to know them. My biggest guilty pleasure is heavy metal music, and the groups playing it, so this was a fun peek into a world I’ll never see any other way. I also like that Ms. Cunning shows a softer side to her rockers, making them real people, not just cardboard cutouts or one dimensional jerks. After reading this series, I can say this about Sinners: Brian and Trey may be the soul of Sinners with their marvelous guitars, Jace may provide a solid base, and Sed may be the voice of Sinners, but Eric Sticks is its ever beating heart.

Rebekah ‘Reb’ Blake is talented, smart and determined to wring everything she can out of life. After her battle with cancer, she has some serious issues with self worth and body image, and her ex certainly didn’t help by telling her she was unattractive to him. When not one but two of the Sinners come on to her, she starts to hope he was wrong. As she grows closer to Eric, he is able to bring out the spontaneous and wild woman that lives inside, and I loved watching as Rebekah blossomed though her relationship with Eric. I liked her strength, and her willingness to try it all, at least once. And I loved that she was able to figure out what Eric’s problems in the bedroom were and come up with unique and totally hot ways to help him.

Eric Sticks is talented, sexy and, beneath it all, very lonely. He wants what his friends have found, but is willing to settle for what he can have; vicarious pleasure through voyeurism, and the occasional touch when allowed. When Eric met Rebekah, it was instant attraction for him, and he felt they were meant for each other; she even had the same blue hair color as he did. When she seems to want Trey more, he hopes she will agree to at least let him watch them together. But, for the first time, Eric doesn’t really want to watch, and I loved watching as he let Rebekah see the side he keeps hidden; the sweet and sexy man behind the wild drummer of Sinners. I really enjoy watching these two together, wondering just what they would get up to next.

Wicked Beat is not all fun and joy. There is the tension when Rebekah’s mother loses it and tries to sabotage Eric and Rebekah’s relationship, and her ex, Isaac, does his share to derail them as well. There are several surprising secrets in this one, and as they are revealed, not everyone is happy with the outcomes. But there are some very touching moments, especially when Rebekah has to go to the doctor for a checkup and Eric pours his heart out to her. The roles these two play, in and out of the bedroom, are such fun to see, and each one is an adventure, as is the screaming hot sex these two manage to have in the most unusual places. There were some tears shed as I read, and many smiles and giggles too.

To get the true feel for this tour with Sinners, to see how it all rolled out, I recommend the following reading order for the series: Backstage Pass, Rock Hard, Hot Ticket, Wicked Beat, and finally Double Time.

I like this world, my guilty pleasure is rock music, the heavier the better, and the bands that play it. I enjoy these peeks behind the scenes that Ms. Cunning provides, and the intrigue of wondering if she based a specific character on someone real in the business.

Jace Seymor is the strong silent type, with wounds that go deep in his soul. With a tortured past, he needs the release that pain brings him, and feels he needs to be punished. When he meets Aggie, she is the first woman who accepts his kinky side and doesn’t tell him he’s sick for it. As he grows closer to Aggie, he begins to learn more about himself, and slowly is able to see that there are people that really care about him. I like Jace for his sensitive and sweet side, and enjoyed watching as he was able to show it more as he and Aggie grew together.

Aggie Blake has never felt the need for a man in her life, at least until Jace Seymor came along. Something about his blond hair, innocent face and hot body draws out her desires and shatters the walls she keeps up against the world. I like Aggie for her honesty and her no-hold-barred attitude toward life. She is strong and independent, and watching her as she learns that, with the right person, submitting doesn’t mean weakness. She has never had a man like Jace, able to take it all and still respect her as an individual. I liked watching as Jace surprised her, over and over, warming the heart she didn’t know she still had.

This is one of the hottest of the Sinners on Tour books yet, with Aggie and Jace pushing each other’s limits until they both discover just how strong they can be together. These two are not perfect, but they are perfect for each other, and I enjoyed some of the scenes in Aggie’s dungeon as they explored each other’s boundaries. The action, and the sex, is definitely not for the squeamish, and if you aren’t sure about BDSM, this is not the book to read. I do recommend that these be read in a certain order, to get the proper sequence of events from the tour as Ms. Cunning has let it unfold instead of treating this as a standalone read. But be warned, this has one hot rocker with the face of an angel and the body of a sinner, and the woman who whipped him into love.

Actions send adrenaline racing and loves scenes take the breath away and inspire the imagination. Ozzie, Becky and Frank, Billy, Eve, just to mention a few, add a special spice and humor to the do or die action. They are a kaleidoscope of personalities, intelligence, and actions. Thrill Ride is Richard “Rock” Babineaux and Vanessa Cordero’s story. The smooth-talking Cajun, with his wit, Southern charm, and gift for getting the truth from people, has supposedly gone “rogue”. Vanessa, the curvy, petite, stubborn, lionhearted communications expert at Black Knights Inc, is the best one to find him in the jungle area settlements of Costa Rica. She speaks the dialects of the region and has the moxie to finish what she starts. The connection Rock and Vanessa make as they struggle to stay alive in the jungle and the events that seem determined to sever that connection make page-turning reading.

The “burn and delete” that the CIA puts out on Rock sets the Black Knights in high gear to find him before anyone else does, but Rock is not easy to find. He can “disappear faster than a cry on the wind”.

The secretiveness of missions breed distrust among agencies and when ‘powers-that-be’ use this to promote their own agendas, actions do get wild and deadly. The unknown Rwanda Don wrecks havoc with lots of lives via actions of others and seems to be an untouchable antagonist. However, the Black Knights work their collective intellect and magic, keeping the reader on high alert for the entire book.

The inventive, descriptive, often outrageous language; the imagery; the bigger-than-life characters along with the intriguing, suspenseful, tangled plot that Julie Ann Walker uses, captures and sweeps the reader along into a vicarious experience that bombards the senses and sends emotions skyrocketing.

Absolution is the sixth and final book in Jambrea Jo Jones’ Seeds of Dawn series, and a very satisfactory final chapter it is. Like the rest of the series, the world her is a wondrous mix of reality and fantasy, the perfect blend of traditions and imagination in a world filled with impossible beings. The characters are as well crafted here as they were in the beginning, and the strength of each and every individual is there for all to see.

Kitty Kelley is strong and determined to protect her teen sisters. She is afraid that their old Alpha will come after them, and she has just learned that she has a mate in the Masters’ pack. I love her sassy mouth and her courage, ready to make a new start far from all she is familiar with. I love that, when Everett said he was her mate, she didn’t play coy or deny him, but was ready to take the next step. I liked that she worried about others more than herself, and that, when danger came to call, she faced it and didn’t hide.

Everett has wanted his mate ever since everyone around him started meeting theirs. He is smart, strong and loyal to friends and family, taking care of those around him. When he discovers that Kitty is his mate, he offers her time, and his protection even if she doesn’t accept him. I loved watching as he realizes that she wants him too. I love Everett for his strength, his patience and his sensitivity to Kitty and her worries for her sisters.

There are several completely unexpected and ironic twists to this final installment. One has to do with the new head of the Tyler pack, and the other with Kitty’s Uncle Kurt. Both of these twists made me laugh at the total irony of what was happening. The many different threads of the series are brought together for one final look at the adventures and difficulties that have brought the pack to this place and time. All of the characters from the previous books make an appearance here, and the progress for everyone is well done. The final dialog from the Ancients is the perfect finish to this one, and I highly recommend the whole Seeds of Dawn series for anyone who like their romance with some humor, some danger, and lots of heat.
