Hades’ Carnival, Book 4

When artist and tarot reader Sabrina Wolfe runs across an old carousel wolf in an antique shop, she can’t resist buying the compelling symbol of her totem animal, her protector. But she isn’t prepared when the wooden animal comes to fang-flashing life—and shifts into a darkly sexy man.

Arand is the last of seven immortal warriors sworn to protect the Lady of the Beasts. Freed by Sabrina’s touch, their instant physical attraction is hot, intense—yet neither is safe until twenty-four hours have passed and the curse is truly broken.
The supplements must have to be taken 1 generic line viagra hour before physical activity. Hades plans to use every one of those hours to unleash his last effort to control the world—or see both the warrior and his woman dead. Though help comes from unexpected quarters, Arand and Sabrina alone risk paying the ultimate price for victory. Their lives…and their very souls.

Howl of the Wolf is the final episode in N.J. Walters’ intriguing short series, and it is a very fitting conclusion to this adventure. I fell in love with this world, where myth and reality blend into a dark and exciting place. The characters continue to enchant, and I will be visiting them again now that I have all four to enjoy. The threads of each story are brought together here, with solutions that were unexpected and yet so very appropriate for all concerned.

Sabrina Wolfe has always believed her spirit guide is a wolf. As a tarot card reader and artist, she has always known there are things that can’t be explained by logic. But when she buys a statue of a wolf from an old, derelict carousel, she gets more than she bargained for. When the wolf comes to life, and shifts into the very sexy and handsome Arand, she believes she is dreaming, because her dreams of late have been of wolves and demons and horrible future happenings. Arand has to convince Sabrina that what is happening is real, and that the two of them are the last chance to stop Hades from waging war with his brethren and destroying the world as they know it. Arand is the last of a group of immortal warriors, cursed by their goddess into their beast forms until the one woman who can awaken them is found. Can these two escape Hades for the twenty-four hours necessary to win their freedom? Is there anyone who can come to their aid? Or will this final battle for it all signal the downfall of the world?

Sabrina Wolfe is a talented artist, and has an inner strength that guides her life and her tarot readings. She thinks that she is crazy when the carved carousel wolf in her apartment becomes a living, breathing wolf, and then shifts into a sexy naked man. But once she is convinced that everything is really happening, she draws on her inner core of strength to work side by side with Arand to bring defeat to Hades and his demons. I enjoyed watching as Sabrina learned what she would live for, and even what she was willing to die for.

Arand is the last of The Lady’s warriors to live again, and he is determined to stop Hades from his plan to take over the world. He is strong, handsome and loyal, and realizes that Sabrina is his mate. He is determined to do what it takes to protect her, defeat Hades, and unite with the remaining warriors. I like Arand, with his no-nonsense attitude and his loyalty to his brethren. And also for his devotion to The Lady, and now, also, to Sabrina. I liked seeing him adapt to modern life, and I loved his joy at reuniting with Roric, Marko and Leander, his fellow warriors.

This is Hades’ last shot at complete domination, and he is determined to pull out all the big guns to get this done. But there are secret agendas on both sides, and surprises for all in this final adventure. The reunion of the surviving warriors, the secret behind all of Mordecai’s actions, and the surprise visit to Hades by his brother gods, all combine to make this the most action pack and exciting of the series. Of course, the scenes between Arand and Sabrina are hot and passionate, as only N.J. Walters can write them, but there are a couple of scenes that grabbed me and would not let go. Ms. Walters made me laugh, she made me cry, and she made me want to return to this world of myth and magic and romance. I highly recommend the Hades Carnival series to anyone who likes magic and myth with their romance, and to best enjoy these books, they should be read in the following order: Night of the Tiger, Mark of the Bear, Pride of the Lion and Howl of the Wolf.

When her mother is killed in a freak auto accident, Eden finds a wooden cross among her mother’s possessions. Triggering what will become a final confrontation with her father, Eden accidentally falls down the stairs and breaks her neck.

“She could still remember looking deep into the eyes of her petrified father as she plummeted towards the ground. His mouth was open in a horrified “O,” while his face flashed so many colors that he was like a giant revolving jeopardy wheel. It was at that moment that she truly felt the fear course through her, for the truth finally hit her: she was going to die.”

And she thought high school was hard.

There is nothing more tempting than a well written story that remains with you even after you read the last line. That is what Until We Meet Again was for me. From beginning until end the author captured my attention and held it, leaving me eagerly anticipating the next installment.

Eden is far from your typical teen girl. She has to deal with two absent parents, even though they all live under the same roof. Her mother is too concerned with her own selfish needs, and her father will do whatever it takes to avoid having to deal with his home life. My heart immediately when out to Eden because she was forced to not only take care of herself at a young age, but also felt she needed to take care of her parents one way or another. In the end, her parents recklessness and selfish behavior leads to tragedy.

Wow, this story took me on an amazing, emotion filled ride. I was stunned as to how quickly the story ended once I began. While the story is targeted towards young adults, I would certainly recommend this to other age groups because there is a lot that will appeal to them and it is truly entertaining. I found the story even challenging some of my beliefs of the afterlife because the author wrote such a convincing story. I sometimes find it difficult to find stories that both myself and my child would enjoy. Until We Meet Again certainly fits the bill, that is why I can honestly and happily give this story the highest rating possible.

Ian Baptiste was finally starting to see some light in his life after the tragic death of his wife. Following a significant promotion, he’d been able to move with his son into WhisperWood, an exclusive, gated neighborhood. His son was thriving and getting ready to go off to college. Ian’s most recent work with predictive analytics was attracting even more attention to him from the company executives. Still, something nagged at him. Something didn’t feel quite right. Something was off. All of his feelings came to a head when he looked through a crack in the wall behind his home and discovered something that both broke and awakened his heart. In the spirit of 1984, Brave New World, and Fahrenheit 451, Parable of Weeds is a speculative look at a possible future.

Imagine suddenly discovering the dark underbelly of your seemingly perfect society. Is it better to ignore what is really happening or try to fix it?

Even though Ian has made some poor decisions in the past I had trouble faulting him for them. He’s worked hard to earn the luxuries he now enjoys, and I would find it difficult to turn away from those amenities if I was in his shoes. What really endeared me to his character, though, was the bond he struggles to maintain with his teenage son, Jordan, as a single parent. Every one of Ian’s decisions was made with his son’s best interests at heart, and even though they aren’t as close as they were when the boy’s mother was alive it is in the intense emotional connection between Ian and Jordan that the former truly becomes a well-rounded character.

The author’s extremely vivid descriptions of the people Ian encounters and the places he visits made me feel like I experiencing this story alongside him instead of simply reading about it. What impressed me even more was how few words Mr. Zande required in order to accomplish this. In the first scene he describes his fellow passengers in such eerie detail that I felt as though I could draw an accurate picture of what each one of them looked like.

I sincerely hope the author considers writing another short story about these characters. Ian’s adventures have only just begun, and I am eager to hear about the decisions he makes after the final scene in this one.

Parable of the Weeds is an excellent example of how speculative science fiction can criticize the dark side of modern day society. I never wanted it to end, and I highly recommend reading this to anyone in the mood for a riveting tale with a somber, timely message.

He can’t say he wasn’t warned…

From the moment he’s cautioned to avoid the submissive who snares his attention, Dom Michael Dayton is intrigued. With her tight dress, flowing hair and honest dialogue, what could be more perfect than a few hours together?

Sydney Wallace fears only one thing—being tied down. She lives for adventure and fun, including the occasional BDSM party. By always scening with different Doms, she avoids emotional entanglements that might complicate her life. A man who owns a ranch and has roots deep into the soil is definitely not the kind of Dom she wants to play with.

Sydney has never met anyone as complex as Master Michael Dayton. From the moment he issues his first command, she knows he’s different. He watches her reactions, sees what she wants, and unselfishly gives her what she needs. Getting involved with a man like him would be the biggest risk of her life, crossing over all of lines she’s drawn to protect her way of life.

After the first night together, Michael realises he should have heeded the warning. But it may already be too late…

A while back I had the chance to review With this Collar by Sierra Cartwright and I loved it so much that when I got the chance to read Over The Line, I jumped on the opportunity. I wasn’t in the least disappointed.

Over The Line is book 3 in the Mastered series, but like the other two books in the series it can be read as a standalone. It is in the Den, the place run by Master Damien where subs and Doms get together, where we meet Master Michael and the infamous brat, Sydney.

Master Michael is dreamy. Cowboys are not usually my thing, but for him, I’d gladly make an exception. He’s a gentleman and at the same time a dominant alpha that knows what he wants and how to get it. He’s complex, but he’s also caring, kind, compassionate and patient. He can cook, he can lasso, and though he might not have a dog, he has a lovable goat, Chewie. He wormed his way into my heart.

Sydney is a wild girl. Master Michael might be complex, but she’s complicated. As a matter a fact, Master Michael is warned to keep away from her. He ignores the warning and with him I was pleased to discover an elaborate character in Sydney. She might be a sub with her Master, but she’s passionate, independent and adventurous. She also knows what she wants, and that is where the conflict arouses. After a previous bad experience, she’s hesitant to let anyone into her heart, and even less so, if he’s a Dom that could potentially control her life like her ex had.

With a raging chemistry from the beginning, both sexual and verbal (their constant sparing brought more than one grin to my face), the characters begin playing tug –a-war. As emotions and feelings become involved, each of them tries to bring the other into their territory, both of them unwilling to compromise, until they figure out how to work things and eventually find their HEA.

Meanwhile, while they agree to disagree, the sex scenes Ms. Cartwright depicts are beyond scorching. Sucked into the BDSM lifestyle by her words, I once again loved the way she had of explaining certain things while making them erotic. One of the things I particularly enjoyed in this book is that it explored heavier aspects of sadomasochism. As Sydney says: “The harder the better. As you’re probably gathering, I find it easier to get off when there’s erotic pain involved.”

The book was wonderful and I read it in one sitting, including the preview of the promising next installment, In His Cuffs, which I will be looking forward too.

But what Tavia doesn’t know is that the world is literally falling apart and that to save it she will have to unite with the boy in her visions. Only problem? To do so would mean rejecting Benson’s love. And that’s the one thing Tavia Michaels swore she’d never do.

This is one of the best Young Adult stories I have read in a while, so much so that I wasn’t ready for it to end.

Tavia is anything but your average eighteen year old. She had to suffer the tragedy of her parents dying and getting complete uprooted from her life, as well as fight for her life. This is just in the first chapter. Tavia is someone that I sympathized with immediately because she has had to deal with more in her life than most people ever do. These experiences have made her a recluse both physically, emotionally, and psychologically.

While Tavia keeps people at a distance it does not mean she goes unaffected and Benson certainly has an effect on her. I immediately recognized the connection they had. Benson and Elizabeth, her psychologist seem to provide a semblance of a normal life for Tavia. That is until her world is turned upside down and she doesn’t know who to trust, the mysterious yet hot guy that keeps showing up or the people who have helped bring her back from the brink of death.

Once I started to read this story I was immediately addicted. The author just had a way of making me feel like I was part of the story. The words seem to come off the pages and act out scenes right in my home. I was so intrigued and encased in the story I found myself up at the wee hours of the night telling myself just one more page. On top of that the end was such a cliff hanger that I cannot wait to read the next installment, because there is no question in my mind that Tavia’s story has only just begun.

When the situation turns deadly, Arabella and Raymond are forced to hide in the country. As she finds herself succumbing to Raymond’s puckish charm, Arabella starts formulating a new plan: how to persuade a rake to propose.

I could not put this book down with its enchanting characters, diabolical plots, and just all around great entertainment.

Raymond is a charming devil who can woo any woman. There is just something about the way he carries himself that causes women to follow him around like puppy dogs looking for a home. Every women but Arabella, that is, so it is only natural that she is the only woman that he craves. I’ve always been a sucker for a strong, arrogant, take charge kind of man and Raymond is all of this and more, and I just could not get enough of him.

With all of Raymond’s endearing (and not so endearing) qualities he still did not outshine Arabella. While reading this story I could not help but think that Arabella is a modern woman stuck in a historical time. While she may seem a bit shy and timid to an outsider it is clearly not the case once one gets to know her. She has spent her whole life walking on eggshells around men and she will no longer put up with it. So she finds an inner strength that she did not realize she had and declares her independence no matter the cost. As a female who also sees herself as independent I appreciated this declaration and rooted for her to find her independence, while not letting it blind her to the opportunities that have presented themselves or always existed.

The author created some intricate plot lines that really drove this story from beginning to end. The conflict  is a driving force behind the story as well as the love interest, and other sub plot that either help or hinder Arabella and Raymond keep the pages turning. The plot and the dynamic characters really seem to enhance one another and created one spectacular story. Even before I finished the story I was asking myself when I would be able to read it again. I even referred the book to others before getting to the last page. The author definitely has a winner with this story, and I would highly recommend you get it today.

Some zombies are raised. Others must be put down. Just ask Anita Blake.

Before now, she would have considered them merely off-putting, never dangerous. Before now, she had never heard of any of them causing human beings to perish in agony. But that’s all changed.

Micah’s estranged father lies dying, rotting away inside from some strange ailment that has his doctors whispering about “zombie disease.”

Anita makes her living off of zombies—but these aren’t the kind she knows so well. These creatures hunt in daylight, and are as fast and strong as vampires. If they bite you, you become just like them. And round and round it goes…

Affliction left me breathless and feeling like I’d read the adventure of a lifetime. This book had it all. If I was an adrenaline junky, this book had enough tense moments with volumes of flat out action that kept me on the edge of my seat that I felt I had received a serious fix. If I was a die-hard romantic, then this book made me feel like I’d found and lost amazing treasures – I was shocked, I was saddened and I was feeling the warm and fuzzies from some parts that were sappy and full of romance. If I was into some kinky sex, I would have found some serious satisfaction in the story too. This novel put them all together making it simply incredible and the absolute best writing that Laurell K. Hamilton has done in a long while. I’m simply blown away by the powerhouse that is Affliction.

Longtime fans of the Anita Blake series should be pleased with this book. It really does tap into the original grittiness and realism that originally captured my attention with the first Anita Blake novel I’d read years ago. Yes, there are some erotic moments in this story, even a new twist with Nicky that I’d never seen or heard of before, but it has a purpose here. It serves to explore and validate the strength of the declaration she makes in the book. It’s a bit extreme but seeing what kind of wereanimal Nicky was, it made perfect sense. It works. And it leaves no doubt as to the truth. I admit that it might squick some people out but I took it in the manner and context it was written in. These people aren’t human, and our rules and social mores don’t have weight. It makes that ‘otherness’ more real.

The villain was a huge surprise. He broke all the rules and threw Anita and the gang for a serious loop into the bizarre. The evil dude was bad to the bone and enjoyed every miserable moment he could inflict on everybody. I didn’t figure out that there was an actual agenda until the very end. Astounding! The conflict truly was like a roller coaster. There were sharp twists and turns, very low lows that made my stomach drop and highs that were a breath of fresh air, until the plot took that drastic plunge into more revelations, despair and sheer brutality that left me stunned. At one point, with one character, I had to walk away from the book. I was so upset. I felt nauseas because I was hyperventilating. I couldn’t believe what was happening and that Anita couldn’t save the day. I wanted her to save the day, needed her to, but the author knew what had to be done. The only reason I was affected so profoundly is a clear testament to Ms. Hamilton’s skill as a writer. In Affliction the writing is honed to such a sharp, thin edge; my feelings were cut and sliced, leaving my emotions flayed and frayed. It was master craftsmanship.

I was thrilled with seeing Jean-Claude away from home. I was sad for Micah because he was home. I got to see another side to Nathaniel I never suspected he had. I got to see how the Harlequin were integrating…or not. I learned something worrisome yet, when I thought about it, logical. When Anita found out she wasn’t too happy but then again, neither was I. Probably for the same reason. Men always think we need protecting and for most civilians, we do. But the heroine isn’t like me or other women I know – the guys forget that sometimes. Makes for interesting dialogue exchanges.

That’s another strong aspect – dialogue. Awesome to see Ed/Ted verbally sparring with Anita and showcasing just how unique their relationship is, and I enjoyed how the heroine deals with bigots and morons – especially when she plays them. One in particular deserved it. Name calling and verbal barbs are some of the things that made this tale seem real because it touched on how some guys, even professional and well trained, break down under stress. Believe me, there is a ton of stress for the police and SWAT in this story. I liked how the author showed the evolving of the working relationship between all the people who will eventually make a difference in the outcome.

This novel is filled to the brim with juicy information that I cannot mention. Of course that annoys me. This is the kind of book that I want to share, to discuss and ask if certain parts meant as much to someone else as it did to me. I want to share what I thought was funny, and there were moments that made me smile. A few had me laughing out loud, like the John Wayne references. It was so … personable and again, reinforced the feeling that these people could be real, somewhere. I just don’t want the zombies to be real. No. I hate zombies. Even though I don’t read books about zombies, the very unique and fascinating twist that Ms. Hamilton spins throughout Affliction made it utterly mesmerizing. The best zombie is a dead, dead zombie.

I rated this tale as a best book simply because it’s that awe-inspiring. A book has to take me to another place so completely, I lose track of time and myself. It has to make me want to shout at it -in a good way, because I can’t keep my emotions quietly inside; they have to burst forth, I have to share it with someone, anyone. It has to haunt me, making me sad that I’ve reached the end even though it was an emotionally exhausting journey to reach that final page. It’s the kind of book that made me stare at it and think, “This can’t be the end, there has to be more because so much has taken place and I can sense the ripple effects it’s left in my imagination”. One thing I can guarantee. This novel is going to hold a proud place on my keeper shelf. I’ve fallen in love with the series all over again. There’s no better kudos than that.

Memories are the ultimate contradiction. They can warm us on our coldest days or they can freeze a loved one out of our lives forever. The McCarthy family has a trove of warm memories. Of innocent first kisses. Of sumptuous family meals. Of wondrous lessons learned at the foot of a rocking chair. But they also have had their share of icy ones. Of words that can never be unsaid. Of choices that can never be unmade. Of actions that can never be undone.

Following the death of his beloved wife, John McCarthy Grandpa John calls his family back home. It is time for them to face the memories they have made, both warm and cold. Only then can they move beyond them and into the future.

The Rockin’ Chair reached in and touched my heart. It made me think of a saying—we are infinite spirits having a temporary human experience—don’t know where I heard it but it popped into my mind. Big John McCarthy’s spiritual faith makes him confident he, one day soon, will be with his Alice that Alzheimer’s had taken from him. But his earthly need to set things right for his son and grandchildren before he goes to her resonates throughout the story.

John loved and still loves his son Hank with all his being, yet somewhere along the line things went wrong. John tried to help Hank become a man but he used the harsh methods he’d learned from his father. John made Hank bitter. He alienated his son. Not even Alice’s gentle words made John see what he was doing and how his stubbornness and pride had cost him dearly. He suffers and works and works. The example Grampa John uses with the old glass bottle with a rainbow in it when the sun caught it at just the right angel is so revealing.

Tara comes home an alcoholic and drug addict with a precious little daughter that soaks up family love like a sponge. Tara’;s battle for normalcy is heartbreaking and will be on going, but with Grampa John’s unrelenting care and some kind, but stern guidance, there is hope. His simple question—do you hate yourself more than you love your daughter—touches something in Tara and prods her into making a more determined effort.

The hardest task John must tackle is making things right with Hank. Their relationship is fraught with so much hurt and bitterness, but with prayer and a God that never fails, John finds a way so his soul can rest in peace when it is time to go be with his Alice. Moreover, he learns it is so much better to be KIND than be RIGHT.

I’m still reeling with wonder as to how Steven Manchester uses ordinary words that we all use but puts them together so masterfully that they tap into emotions, senses, and one’s very being. He helps a reader identify, sympathize, or empathize with imaginary characters to the point that this reader was shedding tears for their hurts, railing at characters that wrong them, and in my mind and heart sharing life experiences with them. His amazing descriptions let the reader vicariously experience the deep cold of Montana winters, the blush of early spring, the smell, texture, sounds of the barn, the atmosphere of The Corn Crib dive, the timelessness of the seasons, the endlessness of hard work on a Montana farm, and so much more. Mr. Manchester’s exquisite writing style makes this poignant story memorable and joy to read.

The Rockin’ Chair rings so true to life as it reveals the strength of family love that survives through the good and the bad. It is a keeper.

How Far Out Are Your Fantasies? When Rebekah Blake becomes the Sinners’ new soundboard operator, she has no idea that red-hot drummer Eric Sticks is the only man who can give her everything her dirty mind desires…

Wicked Beat is one of Olivia Cunning’s Sinners On Tour books, and, as with the others in this series, it is filled with laughter, tears and some very seriously hot role-playing between the main characters.

Sinners: heavy metal’s ultimate band is on tour, and the men are slowly but surely finding their perfect partners. Brian and Myrna, Jace and Aggie, even Sed has reclaimed the love of his life, Jessica. Drummer Eric Sticks is more than a bit envious, wishing he could find what they have.

It came to me in an unlabelled package and Patricia knew nothing about it. tadalafil canada mastercard However, only these things are not going discount cialis to guarantee that you will get over your problem and may also lead to ED. After the bus crash, as their soundboard man recovers from his injuries, he suggests a replacement: his sister, Rebekah, a fully trained sound specialist herself. When Eric sees her, he falls hard, but is disappointed when Rebekah only has eyes for Trey Mills. Eric has always been a voyeur, willing to observe when his band mates allow, but after meeting Rebekah, he wants more, and wants to gain control over his ‘minute man’ problems. As for Rebekah, she has some issues, and discovers after traveling with the band, that Eric is the perfect man for her; he’s honest, plain spoken and doesn’t play the kind of head games most men do. As these two grow closer, Rebekah is able to find herself, and realizes Eric may just be the one to give her back her life. But there are roadblocks to the happy ever after for Rebekah and Eric, as her mother is determined that Rebekah marry her old boyfriend Isaac, and goes to great lengths to keep Eric and her daughter apart. Can these two weather the storms and find smooth sailing for their future? Will the secrets all be revealed? Can Rebekah and Eric face the worst and accept whatever may be ahead?

I love this world that Ms. Cunning has built, and her characters are engaging and well developed, with many facets to uncover as you get to know them. My biggest guilty pleasure is heavy metal music, and the groups playing it, so this was a fun peek into a world I’ll never see any other way. I also like that Ms. Cunning shows a softer side to her rockers, making them real people, not just cardboard cutouts or one dimensional jerks. After reading this series, I can say this about Sinners: Brian and Trey may be the soul of Sinners with their marvelous guitars, Jace may provide a solid base, and Sed may be the voice of Sinners, but Eric Sticks is its ever beating heart.

Rebekah ‘Reb’ Blake is talented, smart and determined to wring everything she can out of life. After her battle with cancer, she has some serious issues with self worth and body image, and her ex certainly didn’t help by telling her she was unattractive to him. When not one but two of the Sinners come on to her, she starts to hope he was wrong. As she grows closer to Eric, he is able to bring out the spontaneous and wild woman that lives inside, and I loved watching as Rebekah blossomed though her relationship with Eric. I liked her strength, and her willingness to try it all, at least once. And I loved that she was able to figure out what Eric’s problems in the bedroom were and come up with unique and totally hot ways to help him.

Eric Sticks is talented, sexy and, beneath it all, very lonely. He wants what his friends have found, but is willing to settle for what he can have; vicarious pleasure through voyeurism, and the occasional touch when allowed. When Eric met Rebekah, it was instant attraction for him, and he felt they were meant for each other; she even had the same blue hair color as he did. When she seems to want Trey more, he hopes she will agree to at least let him watch them together. But, for the first time, Eric doesn’t really want to watch, and I loved watching as he let Rebekah see the side he keeps hidden; the sweet and sexy man behind the wild drummer of Sinners. I really enjoy watching these two together, wondering just what they would get up to next.

Wicked Beat is not all fun and joy. There is the tension when Rebekah’s mother loses it and tries to sabotage Eric and Rebekah’s relationship, and her ex, Isaac, does his share to derail them as well. There are several surprising secrets in this one, and as they are revealed, not everyone is happy with the outcomes. But there are some very touching moments, especially when Rebekah has to go to the doctor for a checkup and Eric pours his heart out to her. The roles these two play, in and out of the bedroom, are such fun to see, and each one is an adventure, as is the screaming hot sex these two manage to have in the most unusual places. There were some tears shed as I read, and many smiles and giggles too.

To get the true feel for this tour with Sinners, to see how it all rolled out, I recommend the following reading order for the series: Backstage Pass, Rock Hard, Hot Ticket, Wicked Beat, and finally Double Time.

Filled with regret over his rocky past, Reece Morgan has no desire to go home after ten years away. But when Billie Bradshaw becomes the target of killers, he returns to defend her with a vengeance born of salvation. He charges to the rescue, only to realize she’s the bait to tempt him into the open.

Billie has a choice to make. She can risk violent death, or allow the man she considers her worst nightmare–the man she’s already loved and lost, the man who fell off the grid a long time ago, taking her heart along for the ride–to keep her safe. What could be worse? Maybe the fact he’s unknowingly brought death to her door.

As Billie and Reece follow the twisted trail of a psychotic mind, their reignited passion takes a front row seat in their struggle to stay alive.

With military men, cowboys, feisty heroines and dogs, I was in heaven with this book. The men are hot, the dogs adorable (even though they’re trained to be able to kill someone), and the leading lady is someone I’d want to be friends with. A win-win on all fronts! And since I just found out it’s a series, you can bet I’ll be looking up the others, and marking down the author on my watch list.
Before the invention of viagra generika, the erectile dysfunction was a great metaphor for life. Chiropractors recommend to viagra 50mg avoid sitting or standing for long periods of time. Billie is a country girl, through and through. She can barrel race in a rodeo, take care of her horses, and isn’t afraid to get dirty and facing down a killer bull barely makes her bat an eyelash. Well, okay, it might make her hesitate for a half a second, but when someone is threatened she’ll face him down anyway. She is loyal to the bone, will defend her friends and family with her last breath and isn’t about to let any bad guys keep her from doing what she’s got to do.

Reece is sexy as all get out. He’s cowboy mixed with military mixed with badass and if he doesn’t make you break into a sweat, you might want to check your pulse. After being gone for ten years, he doesn’t hesitate to come running when Billie needs him.

These two were each other’s first loves and even though circumstances (and a protective daddy) forced them apart long ago, seeing each other again rekindles everything for both of them. With trouble riding hard on their heels though, they have to prioritize and bullets and death tends to win over romance. They do get a few stolen moments and boy are those moments hot, hot, hot! Add in Reece’s military buddies and this book gets even more fun and interesting (and a few degrees hotter).

I love the dogs that make an appearance. Especially that one of them is a Shiloh Shepherd, a breed that I only recently learned about and would love to one day have. The rodeo being held at the ranch was really interesting to read about to see the behind the scenes of a working rodeo. And I never saw the twist at the end coming, which is rare for me to say!

I really have nothing bad to say about this book. It was one that I couldn’t put down, from start to finish, and thoroughly enjoyed it. This will for sure be going on my keeper shelf and I can’t wait to check out the rest of the sexy crew and their ladies.
