Karen and Parker have a once weekly arrangement where they get together and she submits to him, but nothing exclusive or permanent. Only Karen seems ready to settle down, and finds herself jealous of Parker with other women, and Parker doesn’t really want to see her dating anyone else.

This is an interesting dynamic for a romance, they are already sexually intimate, and in some ways emotionally intimate, but they aren’t exclusive and neither is ready to admit that they have already found the perfect relationship in each other.

It was refreshing to see these two work for their relationship, they didn’t just meet and fall in love, they had to work on building a real relationship, and I rooted for them. I do admit the injury to get her into his house seemed a bit contrived, but it still worked to force them to face their relationship fears.

I loved all the sexual scenes, they were well plotted and very steamy. I definitely enjoyed the inventive scenes and Ms. Yssel seems to have done a lot of research into the BDSM lifestyle. There is one scene early on where Karen is tied up and multiple people, both female and male help with the scene and Karen purposely asks to not know who was involved.

I highly recommend this story and it was a great way to pass an afternoon.

She’d never been to the country, and the small town of Blue Mountain is completely out of her comfort zone. But Uncle Paul had been as good as a father to her, and Kathleen couldn’t deny his final request to come out into the small town and listen to his last will and testament. But Kathleen is shattered to discover she never knew her Uncle at all, really, and the secrets he reveals alter the course of her life.

To be honest I was expecting a fairly standard “city girl goes into the country to fulfil family will” style story and in many respects this is exactly that. I found many of the familiar boxes ticked. Kathleen is a successful business woman with money (driving a Mercedes into town) and has sold up her life and home to come into the country as her Uncle requested. Also there was the familiar plot-hook of the sexy farm hand (who also here happens to be Sheriff Sean McCarty) who helps her out and turns into the hero of the story. What I haven’t come across before and found quite a strange twist was the close-mindedness and in some instances even outright racism and bigotry of the local townspeople.

I thought it a little odd that Kathleen was the first ever minority woman to have appeared in the town. I found that not only a little beyond belief, but also in another respect quite brave. Throughout the whole story I fluctuated between these two emotions. I was quite disappointed that in this day and age, a large percentage of a group of small town people could be so judgmental about something like the colour of a woman’s skin. I also struggled to accept that no other minority person had ever in the history of the town even passed through. These two things frequently jarred me from the enjoyment of the story.

The chemistry between Kathleen and Sean sizzles immediately and soon explodes between them. They both have secrets and both are strong, stubborn people, so their romance together is proverbially rocky. That doesn’t lessen the intensity of their need for each other and their sex is smoking hot. I found the sex–while hot and good–was quite aggressive, with both Kathleen and Sean being dominant and the aggressor at times. This might not sit well with all readers as I found at times they both could push the envelope sexually.

Readers looking for a hot story filled with sex and romance should find this as enjoyable as I did. While some of the other secondary characters aren’t the usual “supporting cast” I still found enjoyment from that small-country-town feel of story that is hard not to like. A fun, steamy short story with a real twist of surprise at the end.

They’re both learning more about each other, and Yves is loving every moment. When Tony’s old pimp finds them however, the perfection of their time together comes under threat. Will Yves be able to navigate this properly for the happy ending he so badly wants with Tony?

I really enjoyed this short story. While it’s not necessary to have read “Tony” (another Shibari Auction House short story by Sean Michael and set time-wise just before this one) I feel the reader can take more away from Yves having seen the two men come together earlier. That said, this can easily be read as a stand alone and still be thoroughly enjoyed to my mind.

There is quite a bit of progression between Yves and Tony’s relationship, which I really enjoyed. I would have preferred to learn a bit more about each man outside their relationship, but considering the length of the story I can well understand how practically impossible this would have been for the author. I would have loved the story to be longer though.

The sub-plot of Tony’s ex-pimp is a good one, and resolved satisfactorily. While this plot felt a bit rushed toward the end, again I have no complaint that the words were spent deepening the bonds between Yves and Tony. There’s only so much one can do in so few pages. The sex is hot and mildly kinky. Enough of a bite to whet the appetite but not so harsh that I feel any other readers need particular trigger warnings. I would think that readers who enjoy their M/M erotica with a bit of BDSM and fooling around should find this comfortable and hot.

I found this to be a delicious short story with a satisfying balance of plot, characterization and smoking hot sex. Recommended.

Mia’s testimony against Russian mobsters forced her to enter the witness protection program. She is relocated to a quaint cottage in Wolf Woods, near Mt. Rainier, far from everyone and everything she loved and cared for. All is calm, until she meets Dominic, the gorgeous ruggedly handsome owner of the mysterious Wolfe Estate. He is all alpha male, domineering, and controlling. The last thing she needs is to get involved with a sexy control freak.

Alpha werewolf, Dominic Wolfe, is the packs’ enforcer. When an attractive young woman moves into a cottage near his territory; his senses are heightened to obsessive proportions. A human pet to meet his desires.

Dominic is determined to unveil Mia’s real identity while keeping his own securely hidden. Haunted by the howls and shrieks coming from Dominic’s estate, Mia wonders if she can really trust the enigmatic man she suspects of wanting a dominant-submissive relationship. A world so familiar and yet totally unlike anything I’ve read before.

Mia has lost a lot in a small space of time. She first appears to be a strong woman who stood up for herself in the beginning. As the story evolves and changes, I began to question the strength that originally drew me to her as a character. She stood up for herself in a big way once, I couldn’t understand why she allowed herself to be minimized in a very real way later in the story.

This book has a very unusual and unique paranormal background. For the most part, that was a plus. I felt a lot of different kinds of emotions (both good and bad) as I got further into Mia and Dominic’s story. What put a damper on the plot and the story is the use of the word ‘Pet’. It wasn’t necessarily an endearment like it is in some books. In this case, ‘Pet’ refers to ‘mistress’ or something to be owned, such as a human. Miss Gordon did a good job in trying to explain what ‘Pet’ actually means in Dominic’s world. The issue I had wasn’t so much with the word as with how it made me feel for Mia’s sake. Because she’s human, she would never be allowed to be more than a ‘pet’ or ‘mistress’ to Dominic. It wouldn’t matter that they were clearly drawn to one another and had chemistry to spare. Being human made her unacceptable in his society and the best she could ever hope to be was a ‘pet’. Never a mate, never a wife.

Dominic Wolfe is a werewolf. Not just kind of werewolf. He is the enforcer to the king. When he sees the newcomer in the cottage, there is an instant connection between both of them. Though the falling in love comes a lot later. He is protective and partial to her. When the plot starts unraveling the chemistry and the passion between Mia and Dominic heats up and with it the paranormal activity does the same. Dominic plays a crucial part is getting Mia to come out of her shell after she joins the Witness Protection Program.

Whenever she’s is in danger, Dominic goes into a protective state which is very sweet to see. There is BDSM in it but only small amount, very light.

Since this is a series, I would say Miss Gordon has done a good of keeping the suspense while satisfying the readers at the same time.

I would recommend it to readers who like their paranormal with a slight hint of BDSM

Toby and Damon’s whirlwind romance continues, but can they find a balance between love and work? Do they even want to?

Toby can scarcely believe that his life has changed so much in less than two weeks, but it has. His predictable little life has gone from routine to sexually adventurous in a matter of days. And to be honest, he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Damon’s just as into Toby, more interested in exploring with his new lover than spending all his time at the bar. Luckily things are running fairly smoothly there with his hand only occasionally needed on the rudder.

Their idyllic love affair has a few bumps to withstand, though, in the form of an intruder with a gun. Can Toby and Damon survive what happens next?

Toby and Damon have only been together for a few weeks, but both men have become totally caught up in the whirlwind of their romance. They’re thoroughly in love and wouldn’t have it any other way. After dealing with their own lives for a few days – Damon with his bar and Toby with his sculpting –  Damon in particular is itching for some special time with Toby, and Toby isn’t going to complain at all. When Damon finally sits for Toby, posing for his lover to sculpt him, the fire explodes between them and both know things will never be the same again.

This is a smoking hot book. While it is the sequel to Malting, it’s not necessary to have read that to enjoy Milling. Toby and Damon burn these pages up and I found myself entranced from the beginning. I really loved watching how their relationship grows and expands. Toby is fairly new to everything, both in a D/s relationship and Damon being his first real partner as well. I thought this freshness brought a sense of wonder and adventure to the experience.

While much of the sex is kinky, the love these two men share fills everything. It was a pleasure to read about Toby and Damon further exploring each other and the boundaries of their blossoming relationship. I also really enjoyed how we learn more about each man’s world. I was shown deeper into Toby and his sculpting, and Damon with his pub. Two very intriguing new characters were introduced (I’d love a book about Peter and Christian, please!) and all this added depth and layers to both Toby and Damon. It made me feel like their world, their relationship and their lives were more realistic. There is absolutely nothing wrong with endlessly hot, smoking sex, but the extra depth outside the bedroom made me enjoy Toby and Damon even more. I’ve really grown to love both the characters and the world they inhabit and know I’ll be rereading both these books many times in the future.

There is a small sub-plot, lightly linking Malting with this book and I feel (hope!) the author has left the door open for another book to come. I’m very curious to see how this will turn out and am eagerly anticipating more. This is an awesome story I feel many erotica readers will enjoy. Full of fun, smoking hot sex and awesome characters it’s totally a winner. Recommended.

Jake hasn’t believed in human goodness since he worked black ops for the CIA. Romancing innocent Mia is unthinkable, no matter how enticingly submissive she seems to be. Give Beck & Call a try because Ms. Holly loaded this novel up with all the good stuff. The author introduced three characters that are all unique, quirky in their own way, and how they all mesh is a wonderful orchestration of personalities.

Damien is the aloof control freak with money to burn and a heart to protect. Jake is hardened ex-military with some experiences that inadvertently come in handy but who is doing his darnedest to stay away from the innocent and delightful Mia. Mia is the sweet custard filling in the middle of the treat. Yes, she’s a nice girl with a yen to please those she cares for but there’s nothing vanilla about this girl. She thinks she’s bland but when a case comes their way at the investigative company she works for, it means taking on a new challenge where her special skill and sunny personality provides the edge they need.

In the course of the case, Mia finds out more about herself than she thought possible and it’s very exciting. The reason why it’s such a page turner is the fire and sparks that erupt between Jake and Mia. The seduction was set in motion in the first chapter and the rest of the book takes a reader on a journey of sexual exploration, revelation and relationship development. Ms. Holly has perfected the telling of a romance while between the sheets, in the kitchen or wherever else passion overtakes her characters. Interspersed throughout are insights into what makes the characters tick because the point of view is told through all three characters, but Mia’s POV is a bit more prominent.

While reading the love scenes I saw the characters share secrets and insights about themselves which made what they were doing less about sex and more about falling in love. It wasn’t just about touching each other’s bodies but their hearts. The hardest heart to reach was Damien’s. His situation was unexpected and I really felt for him. However, once the HEA was reached, I had the distinct wish that he, with Jake and Mia at his back, would stand up once and for all to the perpetrator of his greatest hurt and stand tall and proud and tell that person that they had no more power over him, that he found people who love and believe in him. Because that is what Damien found in Mia and Jake – people who really won’t let him down, who believe in him and love him no matter what. And for me, that was the absolute most stupendously wonderful and powerful moment in the book. If I had to choose whose story was most compelling, I’d choose Damien’s.

Less a reader think this novel is only about sex, I have to mention the very devious little drama that plays out. There’s a bit of corporate espionage going on but I had no idea which way it was going to go, and when the conflict came to a crisis point, Ms. Holly presented a gripping and exciting conclusion which included a bit of military style help, cool gadgets and some crazy and delusional people to mess things up. It was very action packed.

If I could ask for things to make this book better, it would have been to get a clearer insight into Jake, to understand how Jake fit into the club scene. It was sort of hinted at and it was definitely titillating and intriguing but I was left unsatisfied. I can guess it was because it might have detracted from the main story but … just what was Jake and Curtis’s connection when they gave each other those looks? Did I miss something? One thing is for sure, this book is easy to re-read, so maybe I’ll figure it out with round two. A clever thing I did figure out was the novel’s title. I got a kick out of that.

Beck & Call is truly a romantic erotic story not to miss. Fans of Ms. Holly can be excited about this one; it’s a great showcase of her storytelling strengths. I’m a happy reader.

While away, Hunter is cruising the internet for some porn and happens upon a message board. It comes as a shock to him to discover he’s intrigued by a bit of kink with his sex. Kyle and Hunter had never gone down that road together, but the more he looks into it, the more Hunter realizes it’s something he really wants to try. But how can he raise this with Kyle?

I really enjoyed this story, it felt realistic to me. Hunter didn’t just stumble onto some D/s porn and instantly, BAM, find himself a slutty little submissive man. He was still strong and himself, just curious and reluctantly so. I loved how even though Hunter had some serious nerves his attraction and curiosity overcame those. And Hunter didn’t just jump in with both feet, he felt his way along slowly. It really struck me how this could happen just like it’s described – and that made the storyline more powerful for me. There was a twist mid way through that I saw coming, but it made the story really interesting and so I rolled really easily with it.

Hunter and Kyle are both completely in love, and this shines through in Mr Michael’s writing so clearly. There is real emotion and chemistry between them. Sure, they might have been together long enough that things have become routine, but kink and Hunter’s curiosity very quickly sets the flames burning hotly once again. I love how they’re both re-discovering each other, but still very deeply in love.

I found this to be an amazing story, full of sensual scenes and hotly written kink. Both Hunter and Kyle grow and learn as characters and their relationship flourishes accordingly. This is yet another wonderful story by Mr. Michael and he’s now an auto-read for me. Hot and romantic, this is an excellent read and one I’m really pleased to add onto my bookshelf.

I admit that I haven’t read all of the Ugly Stick Saloon series, but Audrey Anderson and her compassion and her struggle to have a child, they all resonated with me, making this a very enjoyable novella read for me. The author even managed to throw in a believable villain and subplot of menace that propelled the story forward and it worked even in the limited amount of story the author had to work with.

The only issues I had were because of my lack of previous knowledge, so I didn’t know all the characters that came out to play, yet that didn’t really detract from the story. Audrey and Jackson are very much in love, and it showed in all of the interactions. The other part is pissed. Because what he’s always wanted is Carver all to himself. Much as he loves his brother mechanics, sharing isn’t his strong suit.

Roman needs time—and distance—to get his head on straight. The only question is, when Roman comes home from rehab, will Carver still love the man he has become—or will their roads have diverged too far to cross each other again?

I have really been looking forward to this book. Roman and Carver were so hot together!

Jayne Rylon turned on the waterworks with this one. The characters, angst, and drama were perfectly blended to create an absolutely captivating story that brought me to tears more than once. Several issues combined to make this book more emotional. Roman was seriously damaged by an abusive past that left him coping by using drugs, alcohol, and sexual exploits. Now all that is failing, and it’s partly because he doesn’t want to share Carver. Thrown into the volatile mix is the fact that he is a very dominant man who needs to take control of his lover. Considering his past it causes some tension and a fair amount of guilt for him. It was in Swinger Style that the situation escalated to the point where Roman attempted suicide. Barracuda’s Heart begins with the aftermath of his breakdown and his road to recovery. Then there was the fact that Carver had his own issues and needs that may spell disaster for their relationship.

The thing that worked most for me in this story was the connection between Roman and Carver. The way this author wrote these characters, and especially the sex scenes, the chemistry was a palpable thing that I could almost feel. The sex scenes were so scorching hot that I was left blushing.

I’ve come to expect a certain kind of brilliance from this author and she really came through on this book. She created an entertaining and steamy story that touched on some intense subject material without having it overwhelm the romance part of the book. Now it must be said that the menage aspect is fairly light in this one. There are a few scenes, of course, but it’s simply not as predominant as it generally tends to be in this series. I have to say that it worked well for me in this one.

Just as I had expected, Barracuda’s Heart was a great read for me!
