Take one very human girl. Add three bear shifters and one BDSM club. Shake well…

When Goldie Lockwood tumbles into the arms of the new CEO, she falls head over heels in lust with the enigmatic Dom. Interested in the lifestyle she might be, but Jason Stanhope seems way out of her league.

Jason’s bear wants nothing more than to bend Goldie over his desk and claim her right there, but that wouldn’t be appropriate. This bear shifter comes as a package deal—three for the price of one. As the oldest of triplets, his mate will also have to submit to his brother and sister.

While Goldie responds beautifully to his training, will a weekend at the club be one step too far, or can she be the sweet sub the siblings need? Revealing their bears might very well make Goldilocks live up to her name.

Goldilocks scent has been caught by not one but three bear shifter Doms. There’ll be no running when they catch her in their bed.

I’ve read some pretty imaginative versions of fairy tale rewrites in my time but the premise of this one caught my attention for it’s originality. I think it was the inclusion of a sister bear as opposed to three brother bears. How would the author develop a relationship between Goldie and Cat since Goldie would be mate to all three? I expected some F/F interaction but I wandered about how they would treat her outside of being a mate and sub as well as human. My interest was piqued and I couldn’t wait to dive in.

The story opens with some pretty serious sexual tension once Jason literally gets his hands on Goldie. That whole opening scene was both hot and entertaining partly because his bear really really wanted out to play. Like most fated-mates type stories, Goldie has very little control over her reactions when Jason is near. She appears to be a confident woman with only book knowledge of the BDSM world but accepts Jason’s challenge when he gives her “homework” and then proceeds to check her progress at his discretion. That part was a little odd but I chalked up his choice to examine her so intimately in a not so intimate setting to the fact that his bear needed the constant contact and ability to keep her on edge.

Next I met Jacob. Like his slightly older brother, he’s serious about being obeyed but I could tell right away that Jacob would be the more lenient Dom. Yes and no. He is a giving lover but he doesn’t let her get away with anything any more than his brother would. I liked Jacob, though. He represented safety for Goldie and this world she’d stepped into was on the harsh side of scary. She needed him.

“Cat was intense at the best of times.” That was an understatement. I’ve never had a dominatrix fantasy and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Having said that, just like Goldie needed the difference in personality that Jacob provided to the group, she embraced what Cat could give her as well. It took longer to warm up to the idea but once she saw beyond the exterior, saw the woman underneath, it made accepting her mates a lot easier.

This is not a light BDSM book. It’s not a fluffy shifter book, either. Bears growl. A lot! And they like to bite. A lot. Goldie’s reactions to everything she’s subjected to is pretty realistic. Being a part of their world is overwhelming and surreal. I had pity for her but at the same time I expected the intensity that comes with mating a shifter.

Readers who look for the fated-mate type books with an edge should check this one out. It’s a very naughty twist on the classic fairy tale that took this reader down a rabbit hole full of surprises.

Shelby, a wanna-be sub, hasn’t found a Dom strong enough to push past her need to be in control. Her experiences as a sub have been yawn-inducing. She’s fantasized plenty, though, about Trevor Lawton, one of Dark Haven’s legendary, mouthwateringly firm Doms.

As the stakes get higher at the charity poker match, Dom Trevor Lawton is fascinated by the woman kneeling across the table from him. Problem is, she’s not a good sub. Oh, she tries, and she’s lovely. But she’s not very good at following orders. The woman needs a firm, unyielding hand…his.

Shelby enjoyed her dabbling as a sub in the BDSM lifestyle. A few naughty weekends a year has always been more than enough to satisfy her needs. Master David, a friend of hers for many years, and she share a comfortable, carefree relationship that suits them both. And while they might not be burning up the sheets and Shelby might privately feel she doesn’t get everything she needs from him, they’ve been friends and lovers long enough she doesn’t want to tip their status quo. Master Trevor, however, is everything David is not. Master Trevor is unyielding and seriously strict. Shelby knows she’d never get away with half the antics she does with her friend, David, and after a poker match where she’s the prize, Shelby realizes that Trevor’s far stricter sense of dominance and control might be exactly what she craves.

I found this to be a hot and well written sexual tale. I could really empathise with Shelby. She is a strong, independent woman who likes to dabble in submission and pain. Shelby’s main problem is David is her friend first, and her Master/lover second – so Shelby’s boundaries are never really pushed and anything that gives her even a small level of discomfort is immediately stopped. I also found it interesting how Shelby doesn’t seem – at least initially – to even know for certain whether she’s truly interested in submission or not. She’s so used to “topping from below” that she hasn’t seemed to ever really, truly submit fully at all. Indeed, Shelby hesitated and questioned so many of the commands from Trevor that I really started to wonder myself whether Shelby was truly interested in submitting or just play-acting every now and then. Shelby quickly learned her usual antics wouldn’t wash at all with Trevor.

Personally, I enjoyed the fact this wasn’t what I would classify a “normal” Dom/sub story. A good portion of the plot is Shelby learning and coming to terms with what a “regular” submissive would and should do. Shelby learning about herself, her needs and what she really wants takes up a huge amount of the book. I really liked reading this and found it a refreshing take on the more common Dom/sub story. I could understand, however, that this mightn’t be every readers’ cup of tea, especially since there is the very real question – to my mind at least – on whether Shelby actually is (or wants to be) a submissive at all.

A fun, seriously sexy read that I feel will appeal to many readers. I thoroughly enjoyed the different outlook on a BDSM style story. Hot and enjoyable, I will happily reread this story many times to come.

Alexandria is a lawyer. In the courtroom, she’s in charge and takes on a lot of stress to see that justice is served. Outside the courtroom, she wants to let go. Really let go. The coveted invitation to Midnight Castle from an admirer couldn’t have come at a better time. There were several things that I picked up on right away that made this scenario a little more realistic. First off, she had some history with a “kinky” sex partner so, she wasn’t accepting the invite with no clue as to what she wanted or expected. Secondly, she didn’t just sign the contract without asking a question or two. With her being a lawyer, that wouldn’t have been true to character.

The story moves back and forth in the first person POV. It wasn’t quite as smooth a transition at times as it could have been but it wasn’t a show stopper, either. The premise was interesting enough that I really wanted to see if they had more than sexual chemistry after the masks came off.

There wasn’t any doubt that they fit well together in the club and since I knew going in exactly who “Raven” was it was also oddly sweet, if kinky sex in a sex club can be called sweet. It was also hot. The author does a really nice job of putting this reader right into the room and up close to all the action going on, lots and lots of interesting action.

While the sex is good, I was happy to notice that there was more to this short story. More to the characters. Alex has a history that’s brought up, most often in her own comparison with her present, but it was James’ back story and scars that rounded this story out to a satisfying conclusion. They both sought peace with their pasts and ultimately found that and more.

Something else that had me curious was to see if James would intentionally reveal himself or accidentally give himself away at the office. There were so many possibilities and directions that the author could have taken it. I won’t say which scenario is correct but the way it works out didn’t disappoint.

Ms. Quinn packed a lot of story into this novella. Almost too much it seemed at times but it was still overall truly enjoyable. I will definitely be searching out other books by this author and readers who enjoy some intrigue and a healthy dose of heat, should give this one a try as well.

This naughty list has something to please every reader.

Anthologies are sometimes a tough read when you have to consider each story, good or bad, into your overall rating for the collection.

Okay. So every writer has a voice and every voice will not be for everyone. That said, I found some of the stories in this anthology more polished than others. In A Christmas Maggie, Tiffany Reisz tells a tale very much to the tune of A Christmas Carol where a Dom learns to appreciate the sub in his life. The ghost of his now deceased wife shows him things that he isn’t prepared for but it is an awakening. The sexy scenes in this one curled my toes in typical Tiffany Reisz style and I couldn’t get enough. Awesome story with a couple of tear jerking moments.

Christmassy was harder to read. I felt like I couldn’t connect with any of the characters and was quickly annoyed by the feeling I had missed something. Like in the middle of a series when you just don’t know what the heck is going on. I stopped reading mid-way when I couldn’t find anything to keep me in the story.

My Midnight Cowboy was stunning and I think my favorite story from the anthology. Pumpkin Spice is a new author for me-partly because of the name. It put me off a bit. But no more. I’m hooked. Her style was absolutely electrifying and I am going to get every book she has. The sensual nature of her sex scenes, the buildup of emotion. Holy wow. Fan girl swoon. Loved it and want more. I hope this book gets released as a series because it would rock the house.

In the Doghouse was an odd story with twerking snowmen and a suddenly dominant next door neighbor. I have to admit it left me a little disjointed. When Nicky stops paying attention to his girl, she retaliates-but it just doesn’t seem believable. Her reaction was odd and even with the cool Domme scenes I could not get into this story.

Winter’s Daughter was another strange plotbunny. This one centers around a boy and a girl in a ski lodge. The girl is apparently a fairy from another dimension who is battling her sisters for the right to be happy. In this case it involves a random guy at a ski lodge, a key card (mysteriously she had one) and a lot of extracurricular activities. Nothing seemed to fit here. Not the sudden key card from a woman from another dimension to the back and forth between the characters. There was sex but it left me wanting more.

Stealing Time was a great story. It grabbed my attention at the start and didn’t let go. The sexy tension between the reaper and the girl he is supposed to kill put me on pins and needles. Excellent holiday story that would do well as a longer novel or series of novellas. Great premise and I couldn’t help but want to know more about what happens to these wonderful characters.

Overall, the anthology was a 4/5 for me due to the mixed quality of the stories. Such strong presences by Reisz, Spice and Sparrow made it worth the read and will no doubt have me coming back for more from these authors.
If you want a fun holiday mix, give these stories a try.

Her plan is simple: offer to lure the pack. Playing bait for a bunch of hot shifters is better than being homeless.

The wolves are even more brutal—and more refined—than rumored. Especially the cruel, dark-eyed alpha who looks into Emmalina’s soul and reads all her secret hopes. Armand is the most powerful alpha the pack has ever had, and it’s not in his nature to let her off easy.

But Emmalina’s hot, mysterious neighbors don’t approve of what she’s doing, and for good reason. What they’re hiding could save Emmalina’s life… or get her killed.

It’s not wise to tease a wolf and running from one will surely get you chased.

Told in first person POV, Luring the Pack wasn’t the typical shifter-finds-mate type paranormal I’m used to. Truly, I would be hard pressed to call this erotic romance, at least in the beginning. There was really little to no romance, especially throughout the first half of the book. The heroine has such mixed feelings for the shifters. Lust certainly. Curiosity, sure. Fear, definitely lots of that. There are more romantic feelings between the group towards the end but the lust seems to stay in the forefront.

This book pushes the line on nearly being monster erotica. Not because there’s sex in partial or full animal form, or at least none that reaches fruition. It just had a dark gritty feeling about it. Young half naked woman running from a pack of wolves, knowing and accepting that the end of the chase means an orgy had a lot to do with that perception. Also, more than once Emmalina ends up on the ground and covered in mud.  Or maybe it was her circumstances. Her house seems to be in disrepair, the car doesn’t drive well, she has to ride a rickety bike, she’s hungry, the trailer she rents to Judson and Dane is a wreck, and she works at a dead end job at the local diner. I waffled back and forth on not understanding her reasoning for making certain decisions and then trying to cut her some slack because she’d been through a lot of bad in a really short time.

This book took me out of my comfort zone and maybe that’s a good thing every once in a while. I’ve read plenty of fated-mate type books and many fall into specific pattern I’ve come to expect. This ones different but then it also slowly moved more towards traditional. Her mates, including the Alpha, are fiercely protective and jealous of anyone touching her other than themselves. I did like her mates even though they were a little too pat. The Alpha (a doctor), plus two more wolves (a lawyer and a psychiatrist) who could both vie for beta and then there’s Judson, he’s something special that I won’t reveal, but that was truly different and unexpected.

Readers who like to go for something a little different, who don’t mind a little harshness or grittiness to their erotic paranormal stories may find this one entertaining. It’s not just sex scene after sex scene, those don’t even start until later in the story, but there is lots of teasing build up that made the first serious kisses pretty hot. When they all decide it’s time to claim their mate, watch out, that’s a lot of body parts and it’s a good thing this girl has stamina and plenty of time to really think about how bad she wants this and them.

The men for the most part are actually pretty kind and considerate. Judson has a truly heart tugging back story and then, as often happens in packs, there’s a power struggle that endeared the Alpha to me. Dane and Edward were just extra sexy man/wolf candy but I didn’t have a problem with them being a part of this, either. There’s also a whole side story to do with Emmalina’s sister that feels kind of clunky and unnecessary to the story but maybe the author plans to use it as a jumping off point for another book. That could be interesting.

This isn’t a terribly long read but it was thankfully long enough that it didn’t feel like it was completely centered around sex. The power struggle I mentioned was well written with some pretty dramatic scenes. Overall a eye opening read that’s sure to find an audience.

This book should come with a NSFW (Not safe for work) warning. Hot and delicious only begin to describe it.

Max is the Alpha wolf. He knows it, the reader knows it, heck, most of the town where they’re hiding in plain sight seems to know it even if they don’t know that wolves live among them. People turn to Max when something needs fixing or there’s a problem with a citizen. Is he the mayor? Or Sheriff? No, he owns a dry cleaning business with his two brothers. Huh? Yeah, that was my reaction and yet, it’s kind of perfect. It’s the only business of it’s type in town and therefore he sees everybody, hears all the gossip, stays in the loop and is more prepared to protect his family. And he’s typical alpha hot and bossy but even I’d obey his every command.

Fate really did have a hand in choosing his mate. How else would someone explain how a Bostonian princess find her way to Sleeping Dog, Texas where it just so happens the man/wolf she’s meant for, owns a dry cleaning business? See, it has to be fate…and a little suspended disbelief. But I honestly liked Candi. She’s kind of a doe in the path of big bad wolf when Max finally makes his move but the chemistry sizzles off the page. The author is very talented in writing sexual tension and sexy dialogue. When I said NSFW, seriously, lots of blushing and very distracting.

I know Ms. Carlo has written a lot of other books with paranormal elements and I have to wonder if this trilogy isn’t part of another bigger series. There’s a side story of wedding between two townspeople that just feels like it started somewhere else. Plus, secondary characters who feel like they’re established, like I should already be familiar with their place in town. Cleo and Rosa come to mind. These two old ladies are fixtures and even though they aren’t wolves, they know, or suspect, and they’re in the middle of everything. And very outspoken, and dirty minded, and did I mention outspoken?

This story moves really fast. One minute they’re sealing the deal and the next she’s resolving her backstory with her father, so it may feel rushed. Also, there are some noted inconsistencies. How he could know everything about her, thanks to a PI, but not know what the C in her name stood for? Or how her father just accepts everything Max tells him with only mild irritation. Not to mention the impromptu. Now, that was fast.

And a minor warning, Max partial shifts during sex. By partial I mean, his eyes, nails and tongue change. He fights to stay in control of the wolf and one part I especially enjoyed was when Candi notes that the more out of control he becomes, the more his language reverts to Spanish. It’s really pretty hot. As it is, this story is overall satisfying in spite of the little hiccups. And it ends on good note that also had me laughing out loud more than once. In sympathy, of course.

I’m really looking forward to reading Diego and Antonio’s stories as well as doing some backtracking to see if there are other stories set in and around Sleeping Dog.

This little short had exactly the right elements I was looking for: wolves, fated mates, sexual tension, small town setting and some comedic relief. All rolled together for the beginnings of fantastic trilogy of stories and more.

This time though, Kline is determined to push Anna further, as far as she can manage, right into her sub-space. Will they be able to come back from pushing both their limits to the brink?

This is the second installment of Anna and Kline’s story (after “Think Kink”) and while it could probably be read as a stand alone, I think most readers will get far more enjoyment after having read the first story. I liked reading about Kline pushing Anna much further this time around, but feel some readers who only enjoy to dabble in reading kink might think this story pushes the envelope a little. I’ve read before of submissives finding their “subspace”, but never in quite so much detail and never in quite this way. While I genuinely enjoyed reading it, I found it slightly uncomfortable and am not sure it will be everyone’s cup of tea.

We learn more about both Anna and Kline as their relationship continues to grow, but much like the first story I feel it’s more of a scene/situation based story – not character driven story. Anna and Kline’s scenes, the eroticism of their relationship as they push each other’s boundaries is the main focus here, and while I enjoy the uniqueness of this, a part of me is starting to hunger for more details about them as people – as a couple and as individuals. The author has done an excellent job though in the short length of the story. I’m looking forward to reading the novel-length book next in this series.

A strongly written, highly erotic story of a well-established couple as they push themselves and each other to the edge of their boundaries and beyond.

Things spiral out of control, and Suzie and Jack find themselves in danger, the business end of a gun pointing in their direction…

Jack, an escort worker, hasn’t stopped thinking about Anna since he joined her and her husband, Kline, for a ménage. He’s longed for her, wished she was his, but doesn’t expect to ever see her again—although he lives in hope. To his surprise, she requests him as an escort again at a hotel called The Libra, alone this time, but he’s unable to comply with her very explicit wishes.

Fellow escort worker Suzie also has a client at The Libra. Their meeting takes a turn for the worst and she stumbles home, alone and frightened and wishing she had her friend Jack to comfort her. The following night, when Suzie tells Jack about her experience, she doesn’t expect him to rush off to confront the client.

Jack doesn’t expect to bump into Anna again either, much less for Suzie to be called out to a meeting with Anna. Anna asks Suzie to join her in a mad scheme to catch Suzie’s father, her ex and her attacker on a taped conversation about an illegal arms deal…

Jack is considering quitting his job as an escort. Sure, he still can’t get Anna out of his mind, but it’s not just the delicious blonde herself. It’s the idea of her. Someone who was his. Someone with whom he can do anything, anytime to. A real relationship. Suzie works at the same escort company Jack does. They’re friends and comfortable with each other – but don’t know much outside the bare basics. Suzie is running from her past and when it finally catches up with her, there’s no one else really for her to turn to. Jack finds himself drawn not just to Suzie’s problem – one he desperately wants to help her solve – but to the wonderful woman herself.

This is the third book in the series, but I feel it can be read by itself. While Jack has a brief history with Anna (very much a secondary character for fans of the previous books) the plot really revolves here around Jack and Suzie and can be read without the first two stories. Readers should be aware there is a rape scene near the start of the book. The rape is implied (not shown explicitly – the scene itself is jumped over – but it clearly occurs and sets off the sequence of events). I was quite grateful the act itself wasn’t shown or described, but readers for whom this is an issue should consider this before reading. Also, readers who have read the previous books might find Anna’s actions a little harder to fathom. I, personally, felt Anna’s character was slightly different in this book from the previous two. I feel this might be due to the fact we didn’t see any of the story from her point of view – so I can’t be exactly sure what was really in her mind – I found the scene between Anna and Jack excellently written but slightly uncomfortable. I personally found it pushed the envelope a bit and it wouldn’t surprise me if some readers feel it goes a bit far. I have to hand it to Ms Dae, the scene is an excellent catalyst for Jack, and is very strongly and well written – any book that can make me emotional and uncomfortable is fantastic writing – but I’m usually a reader who enjoys the fantasy of the story, and this one wasn’t quite to my personal tastes.

I can’t fault the pacing of the book – the plot moves very steadily along and yet still has plenty of time for me to become attached to both Suzie and Jack. And the sex is smoking hot, the danger and action made me turn the pages quickly, desperate to find out what happens next. I also thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the characters of Jack and Suzie quite well. They’re both remarkable characters and quite unique to my mind. I found myself very attached to them both – separately and as a couple – and invested in their actions. I also was impressed by the plot surrounding Suzie. It was intricate and a lot deeper than I was expecting, and this was a very pleasant surprise.

Readers who want their boundaries pushed and to read intense situations with interesting characters should enjoy this book. There are a few hot-button topics involved, but overall I really enjoyed this story.

Anna, Kline, and Jack. Three people who all have the same thing in mind – ultimate pleasure and a night they won’t forget.

Anna has longed for a third person to join herself and her permanent lover, Kline, on their monthly trysts at a New York City hotel. Kline always takes control on these evenings, calling the shots and only allowing Anna to come when he wants her to, so what makes her think he will grant her request of having a threesome?

Kline has made Anna wait for her deepest desire, and tonight she will get the second lover she asked for a year ago. Kline will do anything to make Anna happy, including allowing the stranger inside her body, but he isn’t prepared for how sharing her will make him feel.

Jack is hired to join Anna and Kline for an hour of rampant sex and is hit with confusing emotions once he sees the beautiful woman spread-eagled on the bed, duct tape holding her wrists and ankles to the posts. Something about her changes his perspective with regards to his job, and he finds he wants more than just a sample of the woman who has gotten under his skin.

Anna and Kline had a standing arrangement. Once a month they had a decadent tryst in a hotel room, then went back to their regular lives. To where Anna couldn’t scream in the night at Kline’s attentions for fear of their neighbors who shared their walls might call the cops on them. Anna had divulged one of her secret fantasies to Kline, almost a year ago. And when a stranger entered their bedroom, Anna guessed they were finally going to fulfill that fantasy.

I found this to be a highly sensual threesome story. Each chapter is told from differing points of view – Anna, Kline and their third lover. This really helped me understand the situation from everyone’s stance, but also helped me get into their motivations and expectations. The scene was hot and very well paced. I loved the interaction between Anna, Kline and their stranger – but more. I loved the ending. I refuse to spoil it – but it was completely different to what I had expected. It was (for me, at least) a unique twist on what could have otherwise been a fairly standard “third man joins the loving husband and wife fantasy” style of short story.

There is certainly kink in this lovely short story – but nothing that I found too outrageous. Toys, clamps, spanking and a threesome. All hot and very well written. But again, it’s the ending that really stuck in my mind. I love how the author changed it up and gave me as a reader something quite different. I’ve noticed that there are two more books and I’m quite eager to read the next one.

I found this to be a steamy hot, sensually written short story. While the focus was on the fantasy and sex, I enjoyed the snapshots of Anna, Kline and their stranger that I was shown. I really, really enjoyed the ending and found it interesting and refreshing enough I plan to move onto other stories by Ms. Dae. A different look on a tried-and-true style of story, and one I am very interested to continue reading. Recommended.
