I also liked how putting emphasis on certain words highlighted that both men were into BDSM and it all seemed to flow so naturally between them. I found myself eagerly turning the pages and drawn deeply to them both.

A seriously hot story and one I thoroughly found myself impressed with. I really appreciated how the author took significant time in letting Aaron and Jordan set up the slow burn. Despite this being a shorter length story the emotional and romantic connection building between them too a good deal of the time. There was no rushing or half-baked, instantaneous romance. The connection that grew between them felt to me like it was deep, real and intense. I really enjoyed this. And the sex, when it finally came, was all the hotter for that long build up.

It did take me a minute to place him, however. It’s mentioned that he had a crush on Beau from Held Hostage and it had been downplayed pretty well in that book, so I had a hard time making the connection at first. But once I did, I remembered I liked him even three books back.

Diego is the complete opposite of Rich. Dark, swarthy, and rough looking, he works for Metro’s Search and Rescue department, saving climbers and boaters that get themselves into trouble. Looks are deceiving however, because despite his tough exterior, Diego is probably one of the sweetest and most considerate men in this series. He’s absolutely dedicated to Rich, both in keeping him happy as well as safe, which comes in handy near the middle of the book. They make a cute if unlikely couple.

Morticia Knight’s Sin City Uniforms series has become a favorite of mine, and Searching for Shelter was easily one of the best in the series. My one issue with this installment was that Rich and Diego went from acquaintances to forever-in-love a little too quickly. Although, they did spend a lot of time talking and hanging out, not just in the bedroom, so that helped a lot as far as the believability went. Despite the quickness of their love, they are an adorable couple and one that makes sense in the real world as well as in their fictional one. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for this group of guys next.

The earlier books in this series centered on Damon and Toby’s relationship so it was fun to see some resolution of those plots happen. That said, this book really does show a lot of progress and deepening of Peter and Christian. I’ve loved this couple (Christian in particular) as complex characters in the earlier books and was thrilled to really dig deeper into their stories.

This is book five in the series. I feel it would be best if readers had read at least a few of the previous stories – but I have to admit the author does a great job of writing this book as a self-contained story. I feel readers could read this without any of the previous ones and the reader will still enjoy a great, emotional BDSM story. But the story is much richer, more complex and deeper having read the previous installments. I feel the experience is far greater having come the full journey.

I loved reading both Peter and Christian, as well as Damon and Toby’s stories continue. I’ve grown really attached to these characters and hope there are more books coming down the line. Hot and sweet, filled with interesting, multi-layered characters this is an awesome book and one I know I will reread many times to come. Recommended.

I felt bad for her but was totally looking forward to the crow he’d be eating once he had time to cool down. On the flip side, Olivia is a worrier. Big time! I liked how Alex and Kane help her work through her issues and bring out the fire in Red (adorable nickname Alex gives her).

That’s one of the reasons I really like the McKenzie men. They appear to be polar opposites, and are different in many ways but, then they begin to focus on Olivia and in that they are single minded and intense. This trio has great chemistry when they all come together or even when it’s just Olivia plus one.

Readers who like clearly defined bad guys are gonna love this one. Seriously, I couldn’t decide who I loved to hate more but Claudette, the guys’ mom, would probably win the prize. She defines cunning, conniving and manipulative. Evil draws evil and so I wasn’t surprised to see who she was ultimately linked to but it made the ending so much sweeter. Tasha, for her treachery and shallowness, runs a close second. Or maybe the ex-fiance, Caroline. Yeah, Alex has plenty of reasons to not trust women in general. Olivia had her work cut out with teaching him different.

There’s a lot going on in this novel. Some issues are simple annoyances and others are down right evil. I had to read closely to see how it all intertwined and catch all the players. As the blurb alludes to a part of the plot has to deal with Alex’s fear of betrayal. That part both broke my heart and yet, I had to love how the author handled it. It felt real, rather than a convenient way to move the characters along.

Word to readers who choose this for it’s BDSM elements. These guys are not soft-core BDSM. They are serious about their kink and the woman who wins them has to be just as much.

I love every opportunity to revisit King’s Bluff and catch up with the Chloe, Reagan and her friends and the men, oh yeah, the men. Nice! Oh and Olivia’s mom, gotta love her and getting to know her back story was actually pretty cool because of the way it tied into the main plot of the book. Also, I can’t wait to read Caleb and Purdy’s story and it looks like their third will be resident Dom Eli. He sounds yummy and can definitely handle the spitfire little music teacher.

Fantastic addition to the King’s Bluff series. The stories are all stand alone and fully satisfying reads. If you haven’t been to Wyoming, they grow they hot and dominate out in the wild. Now is the perfect time to go exploring!

There were clearly lures for other books scattered throughout the story – but I found this could easily be read as a stand-alone novel. I didn’t need any backstory on the town or Misty’s friend and the other stories I presume have been written in the series. I found the sex to be smoking hot and deliciously explicit. I also really enjoyed how it wasn’t just the three men with Misty. They each had alone time with the other and this helped me understand their connections and strengthened their relationship together in my eyes. What an awesome job to have, a personal shopper. I can see where it would take someone who could think on their feet and know the layout and inventory of a large department store, to make the job successful. Isabelle fit the bill. She seemed cultured, had traveled some and knew how to speak to affluent clients. There was a point where I had to decide to suspend disbelief and simply enjoy the hot moment with them. It’s fantasy short story all about how amazing it would be for someone in Isabella’s position to meet someone as intense and sexy as Mr. Johnson. I enjoyed it for what it was.

This story is an HFN with plenty of potential for a HEA if they take time to get to know each other outside the bedroom. I could see this story being extended to include both more real time and more play time.

Helping Aspen with her sick friend, Rowan, is instinctive but things take a drastic turn when Wren discovers they are not human. Learning the fey creatures she read about as a child are real isn’t nearly as magical to her as the relationship she’s building with Rowan.

But, when she starts her new job, she is constantly tempted and teased by Vilhelm and his unsubtle hints her boyfriend is no obstacle to his becoming her lover.

Santa’s little brother has woken from a very, very long winter’s nap and the world he knew has moved on. The magic is missing or maybe just buried, except in one small Pacific Northwest town that draws not only the Krampus but a young lady who is more than the meets the eye. She just doesn’t know it, yet. It also draws other curious fey creatures, all looking for the same thing. Belonging.

I first heard of the Krampus when it hit the theater. I wasn’t sure I wanted to see the movie but then I started seeing the theme in books. He’s an interesting character. Not really good. Not really bad. He has a “punish the wicked and steal the children” type reputation but it only mostly matches reality. I found the explanation of why he does what he does very interesting. The author painted this character, Vilhelm or Vil in this story, as a type of anti-hero but he piqued my interest, more so than the others but then I kept reading to see how their story would mesh and play out. Vil was just full of surprises to say the least.

As an aside, if you have idealistically sweet images of Santa always being good and jolly, this may not be the book for you. Personally, I thought it was a clever twist on Ole St Nick. Everybody has to have a way to let off some steam. He just happens to have a talented hand with a whip and the ladies. The author only gives a sample of Santa’s kink from a distance but I wouldn’t mind reading that story, especially if he finds the one.

The story comes together pretty smoothly and didn’t feel rushed. If anything, I wanted to get to the part where Vil makes a place for himself in Wren and Rowan’s lives quicker. But it turned out that he didn’t have “make” a place, he fit into their lives, completed them really. That part was both sweet and sexy. While there is some MM kissing and caressing, there’s no intercourse. Also, while Wren gets to sample both men, it’s separately as opposed to a single MMF or even MFM event. I have to believe that they probably got around to that but just not in this story.

Something sinister is sleeping in this fictional town but I get the feeling it won’t stay asleep. This story felt like the beginning of something. I’d like to see where the author could take it and what other not so mythical individuals make appearances. Jack Frost perhaps? Like the witch hurnters who set up camp outside Wren’s home, I’ll be keeping watch to see what, if anything, comes next.

Master Derek agrees to watch over Corey until Josh and David return from the convention. Can the two find a way to a happy ending or are they doomed to live in the past and their pain? Can love find a way to Corey and Derek?

I enjoyed my visit to this world and quickly fell in love with Corey and Derek. The two make a great couple. Derek is a good man and does all that he can for those that he cares for and that now includes Corey. Corey is much stronger than he realizes and with the help of good friends he begins to find this out. Watching the two find their way to each other made for a wonderful read. Love cannot be denied and it has set its sights on Corey and Derek. It was nice to see Corey begin to open up and find a way to trust Derek and the others.

Not only did I love Corey and Derek but the other men in this story also made a big statement as well. It was nice to see the camaraderie between all the men and the love and trust that they all have for one another. The men are all like a family and will stand by each other no matter what.

This story moves quickly and pulled me right in from the beginning and did not let go until the end. I hope that I get to return to this world some time soon and visit with these men once again.
