When Silicon Valley entrepreneur Rachel Zelinsky meets reclusive genius Theo Moore, she finds him strangely compelling. Theo is both arrogant and socially awkward, but he has an aura of power that speaks to Rachel’s carefully-hidden submissive side. Disturbed and aroused, she tries to focus on her original objective—a deal to incorporate his Artificial Intelligence software into her company’s popular virtual world. Rachel’s not a woman who lets pleasure interfere with business, but for some reason, she can’t resist Theo’s geeky appeal.

Theo Moore can’t be bought. His past battles with poverty make him deeply suspicious of the billionaire CEO. Still, with her voluptuous curves and brilliant mind, Rachel embodies his ultimate sexual fantasy. Too bad his knowledge about sex derives from extensive research and a stash of kinky porn rather than real-world experience.

That doesn’t bother Rachel, however. In his bed—in his arms—in his bonds—she discovers the bliss of total surrender. Rachel may be Theo’s first lover, but Theo is Rachel’s first true Master—and the first man to truly touch her heart. It seems that love may harmonize their differing goals and values, until Rachel’s unwitting violation of Theo’s trust threatens to tear them apart forever.

Opposites attract…

This one has a plot that is totally different and not what I expected.

I have a read a lot of books where the virgin and nerd is the woman and the gazillionaire or the billionaire is the man. But this is the completely opposite to that. That being the case the author did a very good portraying the characters.

Rachel wants Dr. Theo Moore’s technology or wants to help him develop it. What comes as a surprise is how different these characters are and how well Ms. Sarai depicted them as polar opposites and yet completely compatible.

Theo is a recluse who does not normally venture out into the public. However, he does for the deal between himself and Rachel. The first meeting is where it truly begins to heat up. It starts with attraction between a very intelligent, smart but socially awkward Theo and highly successful and rich Rachel.

This novella was different for me primarily because of the bondage section. How it begins and how it ends wasn’t what I expected at all.

Theo and Rachel’s relationship was in constant evolution in this book. It starts with Theo being the submissive and Rachel being the Dominant in the relationship at first. This changed when Theo realized that he liked dominating and Rachel liked being submissive. Then, the relationship flipped. From that point was where BDSM aspect truly started.

The changes in the relationship roles allowed me to see them move from sexual players to true lovers. Their story has elements of both true love and forgiveness that gave the story a more full body feel than it might have been otherwise.

Two men looking for love in the wrong places may have just found their perfect match.

This is a previously published work. It has been revised and edited for Evernight Publishing.

It’s Tommy’s birthday and he’s struggling to hide his jealousy over his best mate Marcus being blissfully in love with his new boyfriend. Tommy is happy for Marcus, really, but it’s difficult for him to be in the mood to celebrate. Until Ben comes along. Suddenly Tommy’s not upset about having to share Marcus – not when all Tommy’s attention is consumed by big, strong Ben.

I was a little surprised at first by the amount of friction between Tommy and Ben. I found Tommy to be quite a complicated character, one minute appearing petty and jealous, the next venerable and intelligent. Tommy is not some perfect, white knight hero who is up on a pedestal; he’s a real man with flaws and a temper. This more realistic characterization actually made me like Tommy a lot – even when I frowned at his antics or less likeable qualities. I also though Ben was exactly the sort of boyfriend a guy like Tommy needed:  strong and slightly older, confidant and sure of himself. It was a real pleasure to watch these two men come together. Even during the times they weren’t on the same page, the chemistry and attraction was clear to me really enjoyable.

There’s a bit of kink/BDSM play – spanking and a bit of Ben tying Tommy up – but nothing too envelope-pushing and I think most erotica readers should find there’s nothing very hard-core in Ben and Tommy’s light play. I found it interesting that despite Ben feeling his was a Dom, he clearly hadn’t had much experience acting on that side of his nature. I can’t recall reading a book before where it was the Dom (and not the sub) who had so little experience – so this was strange but also quite refreshing. I felt it tilted a bit of the power play between Tommy and Ben, as while Ben was dominant in bed, Ben’s lack of experience and uncertainty of just how to be dominant outside the bedroom let Tommy initially run rings around Ben. I found this aspect of the plot equal parts frustrating (wanting Ben to be as confidant and controlling as the Top in the relationship) and intriguing, as it’s not something I’ve come across before. Overall I’m glad this uncertainty didn’t last too long with Ben, and it truly was different and interesting, but I can understand this might not appeal to some readers as I felt it diminished some of that control and dominance Ben’s character really should have held.

I found this to be quite a fresh and very interesting read. I personally enjoyed it all the more for the complications and slightly different look upon a BDSM relationship. A good, sexy read that kept my interest and delivered on a hot M/M story with some light kink thrown in for good measure.

On a whim, software engineer, Kate takes a new job in Thailand. When she left her lover and traveled to Thailand for her new job she expected a lot of things. Somehow, she got more than she expected, both good and bad.

She meets two people in Thailand who show her what passion and sex can be. She experiences things she never experienced or ever thought could happen. She learned that there is more to sex, passion and love than what society portrays.

I think it would be fair to give readers who prefer light erotic romance and mild BDSM, that this wasn’t light or mild. The men involved were serious about their play and punishment. Also, in regards to the ménages or partnerships, there is touching and kissing and more, between both the men and woman.

Raw Silk portrays a woman searching for love and finding it in Thailand. She learns a lot about herself, new cultures and countries different from her home. There are multiple plots and I appreciated that, as it kept me on my toes and engaged in the story to the end. The main plot revolves around the three men and Kate but the minor plot is what happens to the company she has been working for in Thailand.

For her this becomes more than fun when she has to choose between the men who taught her so much. All three were into her and were able to work together during the passionate sex they had, but they wanted her to choose one of them. Even with her struggle to choose, this is a HEA. The author ties it all together in the end with a very satisfying conclusion worthy of a romance. This one is for readers who like a little, or a lot, more spice and sexual adventure with their romance.

Time Out – by Sean Michael
Val and Chaz had broken up and even after a few months Val still felt grumpy and sour. He was sick of himself and ready for a fresh start. Deciding time away would be best he agrees to his friends’ offer of some time in his vacation home. Only Val discovers Chaz is there. Can they try once more to make things work?

I really enjoyed this story and feel that Mr Michael did an amazing job balancing it out. Chaz and Val have broken up because they each felt betrayed by the other – for different reasons. While they’ve both tried to move on, they still love each other deeply and want to reconcile but aren’t exactly sure how to do it when their feelings of betrayal still linger. I loved just what an excellent balance there is to this story. The problems are genuine – not wishy-washy or silly plot devices merely to create tension – but they’re also not insurmountable. I didn’t feel like one party had to cave in to the other or make an about face just to get back together. They each had to work at rebuilding their relationship – there wasn’t some easy “magical” answer to them get back together either. I found it well paced and really well thought out.

This was some excellent, emotional and strong writing that I really admired. Add in very kinky, steamy hot sex and a happy ending and I know this is a short story I will be rereading over again.

Strict Consequences – by Morticia Knight
After a rotten day at work Garson needed the focus a hardcore session at Club Consequence usually gives him. About to leave when he finds there’s no rooms free, Garson falls into conversation with his favourite Dom, Jarvis. Jarvis has an alternative plan that threatens Garson’s careful routine. Is his desire deep enough to let go and trust the strict Dom?

This is a great story and I loved both Garson and Jarvis’ characters. Garson is a creature of routine – something I could empathise with. He’s taken great pains to structure his life exactly how he needs it, to protect his heart. Jarvis is clearly drawn to the sub and is determined to show Garson that rules were made to be broken. The chemistry between the two was smoldering and I loved the give and take between them. I loved how the author showed us step-by-step how Jarvis not only broke down each of Garson’s walls, but led him exactly where they both wanted and needed to be. It was a beautiful thing to read and I loved every moment of it. The happy ending was like the icing on the cake. Perfect.

Tagging Mackenzie – by L.M. Somerton
Kenzie is seriously in lust with Dom Steele Denton, but the strict Dom seems to have no interest in him at all. Deflated, Kenzie leaves the club unfulfilled and decides to indulge in his only other passion – tagging. Steele is determined to make Kenzie his, but has been holding back, unsure if the slender, tender man really has the backbone to fulfill Steele’s deep needs. When Steele catches the man tagging his business, Steele has the perfect opportunity to put them both to the test.

I found this to be a fun and lighthearted story. I loved Kenzie’s reckless tagger side – and could easily understand how the addiction to that thrill meshed with his addiction to submission. Steele was a strong Dom, and I thought the two men were very well suited. Steele was wickedly creative when it came to making do without a playroom – I doubt I’ll ever look at a mechanic’s garage in quite the same way again! I was only pulled away from enjoying the story a few times by small niggles that didn’t appear too realistic – how many men keep floggers or dildo-like devices in the drawers scattered around their workplace without being caught and teased mercilessly by their co-workers? – but overall they were small things when compared to the steamy, sexual chemistry burning off the pages.

A smoking hot, deliciously naughty read.

Bad Idea – by Lily Harlem
Heavy is the leader of a bikers group, Junk one of his riders. The two men might have to hide their attraction, their relationship, but that doesn’t mean they can’t indulge in their very kinky desires whenever possible.

This is a hard but hot and kinky short story. I really appreciated how the chapters switched from Heavy’s point of view to Junk’s – it allowed me to understand both men’s motivations clearly and follow the story seamlessly. It’s written in the first person, but blends so well I still enjoyed the flow and didn’t lose a step. There’s a Happy For Now ending, but I felt it was perfect and realistic with the characters and their situation. Steamy hot and deliciously kinky, this was a lovely read.

Safeword – by Samantha Cayto
Carter is in an abusive relationship, his Master loaning him out to help cement his business deals. While unwilling, Carter knows he can’t escape and has accepted this as the price of living life on his own terms, as a gay submissive man. Given over to Crow for two days, Carter is initially scared of the large, gravelly Dom. Can Crow gain Carter’s trust and show him what it really means to be a sub?

While unwilling with his Master passing him around, Carter does sortof choose to remain in the abusive situation he’s found himself in. I found this aspect at the start of the story a little murky. Carter doesn’t actively try to escape – but he does inform the reader that they’re on an isolated island, too far from the mainland to swim and he can’t drive a boat. While it’s clear Carter is resigned to his current lot in life, I feel this definitely fits many of the aspects of “Forced Seduction” or an unwillingness to the rules of their Master/slave relationship. This might be a trigger or no-go area for some readers. I found it pulled my heartstrings, but wasn’t so brutal or explicitly described that it turned me off, but at the same time it really pushed my boundaries and I can’t admit to liking that part of the storyline.

Having said that: the situation changes for the better fairly promptly. Crow isn’t what he seems, nor is the situation the two men have found themselves in. It’s difficult to explain further without spoilers, but suffice to say while the threats and abuse are real, so too is the care that grows between Crow and Carter. While I’d describe this as quite a dark story, there’s definitely hope and light. A hopeful ending rounded things out perfectly for me. This definitely won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but for readers who like a biting edge to their erotica this might be a delightful surprise.

Earning His Leathers – by S. Dora
Connor loves leather and is delighted to find a small leather shop on one of his walks. But Connor wants to earn his right to wear them, and when he’s directed by the store’s owner to a certain building, Connor can’t resist the temptation to really give it a try. What he finds with Stone Carver is so very much more than he ever could have expected.

I really enjoyed this story – it’s a very different look on the story of how a Master can come to be a Dom/Master. I was intrigued by Connor’s character from the start, and although his attitude to the BDSM lifestyle was a little different I found it really interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed following along as Connor and Stone trained together and found Connor’s mindset in particular interesting. I also liked the premise of the club and the manner in which it was set up and portrayed. While the ending felt rather rushed and a little unrealistic (I don’t believe anyone can learn everything in hardly a day…) I did enjoy the reflective, almost philosophical leaning to the plot and interactions and that made me not only think harder on BDSM as a whole – but also the subtleties and interactions between a Dom and his sub that have rarely crossed my mind.

This story made me really sit back and think, to analyse the relationships and turn things around in my head. I found it delightfully refreshing and novel. While there’s not as much sex (or explicit kink) as your average BDSM story there’s still plenty of action, but it’s the discussions, learning and thought processes that I found most riveting in this story. A great read and completely different from any other BDSM story that I’ve read before. Lovely.

‘Tis far better to love in hell than to live in heaven.

Ethereal Foes, Book 1

As a demon of the Ethereal, it’s Duncan Sinclair’s job to sway humans toward the path to hell. Duncan is very good at his job–until a prank gone wrong lands him in the upper realm doing penance. Now he’s being bombarded with love, kindness, and affectionate sex…and it’s killing him. The only way out is to agree to sway souls for heaven, with an angel as his partner, by all that’s unholy.

Another study showed that men, who have sex three to four times a week, have 50% lesser death side effects from viagra rate than to those who have it once a month. It will tadalafil india cialis help you meeting the real you. Living with POTS can be very disabling on a daily basis and so it’s important for patients to understand that viagra prescription medicine does not work for some families battling high school emotional sickness or behavioral issues. Because of litholytic nature of apamarg is very beneficial in breakdown of kidney and bladder cipla cialis canada stone. Sapphira may be an angel of the upper realm, but she chafes in a bland existence where everything is so pure. It’s hard to hide her secret yearning for sin. Even harder with Duncan, who’s everything the dark core of her soul craves: handsome, sexy and refreshingly naughty.

Confronted with an angel who drinks, swears, and takes him to bliss with her sinfully delightful body, Duncan finds himself at risk of losing his heart to the enemy.

Loving this angel could land him right where he doesn’t want to be–heaven. But what’s a demon to do when he’s falling?

When a prank goes wrong, Duncan Sinclair has to face his father’s punishment for endangering his sister, even if it did result in her finding her mate. Duncan’s punishment…seven days in the custody of Uriel, the angel in charge who wants nothing more than to convert Duncan to the side of good.

As a demon in charge of swaying souls to the other side, Duncan is determined to endure the punishment and spoil Uriel’s plans. But when Uriel pairs Duncan with the lovely Sapphira and sends them to the human realm, things become complicated. Sapphira may be an angel, but she hates the rules and regulations she has to follow, and James is stunned when he finds that he is attracted to this confusing but beautiful angel. When these two work together to sway souls, James realizes that there is something intriguing and different about ‘his angel’ and decides to explore the connection he feels. Can these two find a way to fulfill Duncan’s penance and not change the rules? Will the secret behind Sapphira’s true nature be revealed? Will Duncan and Sapphira have a Happy Ever After away from the Heavenly realm, foiling Uriel’s plans?

Duncan’s Descent is the second offering in the Ethereal Foes series from Marie Harte. It is a world filled with all sorts of paranormal beings: demons, angels and other interesting characters existing alongside human kind. I like that, even for demons, there are certain rules that must be followed, and family is the first priority to most beings. I like the world Ms Harte has created, and the characters that inhabit this unique place.

Duncan Sinclair has just one job: sway souls to Hell. He is very good at his job, but when he and his brother cause a major upheaval and cause problems for Heaven, he has to pay the price for bad judgment. Duncan is strong and determined not to succumb to the ‘tortures’ administered by Uriel…love and kindness that causes him physical pain. When Uriel assigns an angel to work with him on the earthly realm to sway souls to Heaven, Duncan finds that he is drawn to the angel like never before in his life. I like Duncan, with his sarcastic wit and his strength and determination.

Sapphira is a beautiful angel, but there are secrets surrounding her that not even she is aware of. She hates the rules that she has to live by in Heaven, and is happiest when she is on the earthly plain, where she has some freedom to do many un-angelic things…drink, swear and enjoy earthly pleasures. When she is partnered with Duncan, she sees the other side of the coin, and finds that not all souls should be sent Heavenward. I like Sapphira, with her smart mouth and her attitude, and her willingness to see both sides of an issue. When she finds herself drawn to Duncan, I like that she was willing to explore the feelings between them, and I liked that she was willing to stop him when he seemed to be ready to turn ‘good’ for her.

There are some intriguing twists to this story, especially the big secret of Sapphira’s true nature. There is a buildup of passion, and when these two finally get together, it explodes like fireworks and leaves them both a bit stunned at it all. The behind the scenes manipulation of Uriel and the secret revealed by Sapphira’s mother are subtly done, and well thought out. I really loved the misdirection by Asael (Duncan’s father) about Sapphira and her possible parentage, and how it affected the principals in the story. I recommend this one be read while in air conditioned comfort, because it does get hot and steamy on its on merits.

So what if Jarod is probably twenty years older than Eli. What does age matter, anyway? All he can see is what he’s always wanted—a sub who wants to serve.
Jarod spent twenty-four years with his Master before Fate took him. Four years on, Jarod is still lost, so when a young Dom takes charge, Jarod rolls with it and finds himself serving again. But he keeps waiting for the other shoe to drop. Because there’s going to come a point when Eli realizes he’s a laughing stock in the club. Who would want to be seen with a fifty-year-old sub?
After several missteps, Eli realizes that in order to find happiness, they will need friends who will understand. At a friend’s insistence, he visits Collars & Cuffs, where they are met with open arms. As they settle in to their new life, Eli begins to see things differently and he dares to think he can have it all. Until a phone call threatens to take it all away….

An older sub loses his lifelong master and then loses his will to live. Could a younger Dom be the answer to his dilemma?

This story shows that age is not a determining factor when it comes to a person’s tendencies in either domination or submission. Here the older man is submissive and the younger man is dominant.

Jarod is a true submissive. He lives to serve in every sense. He’s been with his Master his whole adult life, so when the Master dies, Jarod is completely lost. Four years later he still mourns. And it doesn’t help that every time he tries to go out to clubs and find some relief in the form of a Dom, he gets laughed at, mocked, ridiculed, and berated for being too old (late forties), useless, and unwanted. Such hateful ageism from a supposedly accepting community. Guess such things exist in every community.

Eli is in his early thirties, and he’s tired of poser subs who act defiantly in the hopes of being punished with a spanking and fuck. He’s bored. When he spots Jarod at a club, he doesn’t hesitate to take the man home to be his sub. But… Jarod has his issues to deal with, and Eli doesn’t seem to understand what to do with a broken sub now that he has one. They find it difficult to talk about their pasts and what they want from life and each other. Their growing affection for one another, though, is a powerful force gluing them together.

This works as a standalone even though it’s the seventh in the series, Collars and Cuffs. The title refers to a BDSM club that houses some very special Doms and subs, and where Eli brings Jarod, hoping to give his sub a better experience than the ones he’s received in the past. The owners and many patrons become familiar as the story progresses, and their stories have clearly come before this one in the series. Though it’s not necessary to read the other books, I suggest you do. Just to find out what’s happening and who the numerous cast members are and what they’re all about. Hey, more reading goodies.

Not knowing the BDSM community well, I have to wonder if these kinds of situations aren’t more common, since an older Dom with a younger sub seem to be the norm. That when a Dom is with a specific sub for a long time, their age discrepancy automatically means that one of them will likely die and leave the other alone. I can’t even begin to imagine the emotional toll that takes on the survivor who is cast adrift. Apparently, though, that isn’t the whole case, since the capacity of the human heart to rediscover love is eternal, as this story proves. One just has to be willing to take a risk and put yourself out there again.

The plot unfolds slowly, revealing various facets of Eli and Jarod as they try to build a life together. But they both have unfinished business, so that’s not an easy task. This isn’t an insta-love story. Not even insta-lust. The two men find each other attractive right from the start but the first sex scene doesn’t come for a long time. So if you’re into instant gratification for your sexy-read jollies, look elsewhere. This tale takes patience.

The two authors seem to know their stuff. Not just in terms of personalities but BDSM specifics and the community, as Eli teaches us a few things during his lessons. For example, I’d never heard of using sounds for a session. Intriguing. The men feel real and the beautiful writing takes us right into their heads and lives. The book is written in first person from the perspective of both the main characters. Their individual voices didn’t come off the writing, per se, but on showing us how different the men are and how they deal with their problems. Where Eli puts things off, Jarod falls deeper into the mire of feeling not yet dealt with. There are serious matters at work here.

Spoiler warning! There’s an attempted suicide here, so if that theme offends or troubles you, be warned.

Though the pace is leisurely, the story moves swiftly enough. The writing is fluent and professional, and I was quickly drawn into the story, wanting to know more, read more, to be shown more, to be invited into this sensual world and to be taken for an emotional ride. Though at the times the feelings ran amok, such as Jarod being teary-eyed a lot, I understood that both men needed something elusive and had a lot going on. They only find balance with each other and are able to take each other to places they’ve never been.

Now, while I said this works as a standalone, it’s clear this series is reaching its end. If you haven’t read the previous books yet, I suggest you avoid reading the epilogue. It doesn’t show Eli and Jarod, but instead gives us a peek of what’s to come with the next book and the wrap-up of the series.

In any case, this is a wonderfully written tale of two realistic men who show us that most things in life are not dependent on age. Regardless of how many years we’ve lived, we can still suffer or fall in love or be a part of something greater. That’s a great positive message to take from this since none of us are getting any younger. I for one will be checking out the other books in the series. Highly recommended!

What good is being king if you can’t burn your own rules?

Ethereal Foes, Book 4

In the two years since Jentaron hatched, he’s grown into an adult blue dragon full of the knowledge of his royal predecessors. He’s a true king, even if the other denizens of the Ethereal, those demons, havoc, angels and the like, continue to test him.

But he’s got heavier worries. Namely, an unspeakable danger that threatens all life as the planet knows it. He can feel it, can sense that he’s got a bigger role to play than just pissing off the Ethereal.

With the blood elves and havoc making more trouble than usual, magic no longer flowing freely in the Abyss, and angels massacring everything demonic they can get their holy hands on, the Balance has reached a tipping point. Time to take charge before the rules change.

What’s a dragon to do but create his own chaos? He’ll take a mate or two, instill fear where needed, and finally return dragonkind to the Ordinary—the human lands—where a dragon will decide the fate of the worlds.

Because he’s king, and he says so.

As the Dragon King, Jentaron is the most powerful being in the lower realm. But he has kept the true strength of his abilities hidden, letting others believe he is less than he is. He knows that what is coming soon will change all the realms, and if what he has foreseen comes to pass, it will be war, with the very existence of all beings in jeopardy.

Zelec is one of the strongest of the higher demons, but even he needs to take time to relax. When he encounters Ella in a bar in the Ordinary, he realizes that there is something different about her. He quickly realizes she is a nephilim, a rare offspring of an angel and a human, and powerful in her own right. Zelec doesn’t do love, but something about Ella continues to draw him in. When she has a vision of horrible beings set to conquer the planet, she collapses, and Zelec takes her to the only safe place he knows of in the Ordinary…James Sinclair’s penthouse.

When Jentaron encounters Ella there, he realizes that she is part of his destiny, one of his mates, and that the other is Zelec. Only if all three bond together can they hope to defeat the Hunger, and evil like no one has seen. The hunger is determined to destroy all in its path, but with Jentaron leading, there is a union of angels, demons, dragons and all other paranormals in this world, all united to meet a common enemy. Can the different groups work together to defeat the Hunger, or will the petty squabbles endanger all of humanity and the other realms? Can Ella and Jentaron convince Zelec that they want him forever, not just for the battle ahead? And will the shock of learning about their parentage cause Ella and Zelec more problems?

The Dragon King: Not So Ordinary is the final episode of Marie Harte’s Ethereal Foes series. It is a story filled with danger, passion and lots of surprises for many of the characters that live in this world. The world building has been consistent throughout, and the characters continue to be well crafted and unpredictable. I like that, even after three previous books, there was more to learn about each character, and there were many surprises revealed in this one.

Jentaron is the King of the Dragons, and he is a mix of innocence and sensuality. Those around him continuously underestimate him, and belittle him. He hides his power, because he knows it is not the right time to let others know what he knows; that there is a war coming, one that could end the world as they know it. He knows he must unite the many different groups, angels, demons, dragons and other beings if they want to defeat their common enemy. Watching as Jentaron slowly reveals his actual powers is a treat, and as he finds his mates to boost his levels, I really enjoyed watching him finally come into his position as a leader. I also liked that he did not lose his joy in the little things in life, and still enjoyed having fun, in spite of the pressure he is under.

Ella is a strong and powerful female, but she has no idea that what she calls her ‘family gift’ is in fact a powerful effect of being a nephilim. She thought she was human, and only after meeting two super hot males does she learn what she really is. As she grows closer to Jentaron and Zelec, she begins to discover just how powerful the three of them are together. I like Ella, with her snarky attitude and her determination to see where the relationship with her guys will go next. I loved that she was willing to accept who and what she is, and I really laughed when she finally met her father and discovered the source of all her power.

Zelec is a strong and sexy higher demon. He says he doesn’t do love, but his actions don’t match his words. He has a vulnerability that very seldom shows, but both Ella and Jentaron sense that there is more to him than he lets on. I love Zelec because he doesn’t apologize for anything…he is a demon and proud of it. He is an especially powerful demon, and the reason behind his powers becomes clear when his parentage is finally revealed to him, almost by accident. He is determined to leave once the battle is fought, but I enjoyed watching as Ella and Jentaron broke down his defenses and showed him that they loved him, just as he is.

This story brings in the worst danger possible, a horde of beings determined to decimate every being on the world, and destroy humanity and the other realms as they have done to many other worlds before. There is humor in this, and lots of dragon/demon/nephilim passion, but there is also danger and fear as well. It shows that to be victorious, sometimes enemies must unite in the face of overwhelming odds to defeat a common foe, and that only with a true sharing of passion can the enemy finally be defeated. There are surprises here, some very shocking and one I did not see coming at all. I found this to be a very satisfying conclusion to the Ethereal Foes series, with all of the threads brought together to a close. I do recommend a lot of cold drinks, air conditioning and tissues, as there are tears, laughter and lots of very hot and passion filled scenes.

When a demon and a dragon get busy, “burning up the sheets” gets real.

James thought stealing a royal dragon egg was a terrific idea—until the prank went sideways. His sister and twin brother have done their penance. Now it’s his turn. Ten days of servitude to Teban, the dragon prince—James’s best friend. Such a light sentence has to have a catch, so James does what any good demon would do. He bolts.

His string of bad luck holds steady when he falls prey to a pretty woman with sharp teeth. Kihra is havoc, a race of lower-realm creatures even demons fear. When she joins forces with Teban, their torment becomes delectable sin. No vice is too addictive, no demand too brutal when it comes to satisfying his lovers’ needs.

All seems hellishly perfect—until the angels arrive for some payback. Kihra’s kidnapped, Teban is missing, and James suffers the beatdown of the millennium. But he has no intention of letting his lovers go, though he risks the wrath of the demon king, the ire of the dragons, and an angelic punishment that could start a world-ending war.

Steal a dragon egg…blame it on the angels…what could possibly go wrong?

James Sinclair learned that not all pranks are good ideas, especially if the dragon egg in question just happens to be a royal egg, and holds the next King of the Dragons. For his penance, his father Asael sentences him to ten days of servitude to Teban, prince of dragons and brother to the, now hatched, egg in question. While Teban is James’ best friend, James is not quite sure what is in store, so he does what any smart demon would, he runs. Unfortunately, James gets lost, and is caught by an adolescent Havoc, a race he knows nothing about other than they are extremely bloodthirsty and strong. When the young Havoc’s aunt comes along, she has decided she likes how James looks and decides she will keep him. When Teban catches up with James, he is also ‘taken’ by Kihra, and together Teban and Kihra decide to claim James as their own. Things heat up once Kihra and Teban take James back to Teban’s home and each of these three claims the others in a hot and steamy triad. When the angels kidnap Kihra as payback for the prank James started, will James be able to rescue her in time? Will Teban survive his impromptu visit with the Havoc deity Kingu and return in time to save James? Can James accept that he has feelings for both Teban and Kihra? Can these three stay together in the face of opposition from the Havoc and the angels?

Havoc and Hell is a return to Marie Harte’s Ethereal Foes world, where paranormal beings exist and passions run high. This tale gives a glimpse of beings that even the demons fear, a dangerous race known as the Havoc. This is a look into one of the lower realms, with the different beings that inhabit that world. I enjoyed the descriptions of the homelands of the Havoc, and the many ways it differs from what the inhabitants call ‘the Ordinary’ or the realm of humanity.

James Sinclair is a strong and smart demon, twin to Duncan and more than a bit of a rascal. It was his idea that started the whole mess, and now that he is to pay, he does what demons do best…he tries to escape his punishment. When he meets Kihra, he is drawn to her, and is a bit surprised by the strength of his attraction to the woman. I like James and his snarky sense of morality, and his determination to avoid his punishment. I also like that he is honest enough to admit it when he realizes his attraction to Teban as well as the one to Kihra.

Teban is the dragon prince, strong and handsome, and very determined to finally make James his mate. He also wants Kihra in his life as a mate as well. I like the chemistry that is so palpable when these three are together, and I was very impressed when Teban made the ultimate ‘sacrifice’ for Kihra. I like the passion that Teban lives his life with.

Kihra is a wild being, like no woman either of these two males has ever met. I like her combination of sensuousness and innocence, a seductress with a sweetness that shows in her wide eyed amazement of the dragon world. I also like that she is determined to ‘keep’ both James and Teban, claiming that they are hers because of her devotion to her deity, Kingu, as her reward for her life of service to Kingu and her people.

There are some interesting twists to this one. When the angels kidnap Kihra and lay the blame on the demons, there is threat of a war between demon kind and the Havoc, and Kihra must pretend to like Heaven until her rescue comes. There are secrets hinted at but left unsolved for now, and there is a mystery of what the new dragon king knows and his ultimate plan for everyone. I read this late one night and could not put it down. I recommend lots of ice water and tissues, because there are tears and laughter and scorching hot passionate encounters between James, Kihra and Teban.

I walked away from Craving Justice craving the next book with a mad hunger!

Sometimes you find a new author or series and their voice just clicks with you as reader. That was me with Fiona Archer when I read the books in her King’s Bluff, Wyoming series. While I’ve always enjoyed reading a good Dominant Alpha male type hero, her heroes seem to always go just about a half step more towards the dark side of Dominance/submission in the most delicious ways.

Seth Justice is exactly the kind of hero I expected from this talented story teller. He has the tall, dark and handsome in spades but it’s more. He isn’t the broody male hero, though he has a brother or two that make up for how refreshingly open Seth is, especially with Harper. And then Ms. Archer goes and gives him and his brothers a back story that owned me hands down.

Harper Fox is a gem. She’s the kind of heroine that I can cheer for because she’s not perfect but she’s not down on herself about her imperfections, either. She’s confident in who she is but not so arrogant that having someone like Seth pursue her isn’t completely flattering. She isn’t afraid to stand up to him but she also isn’t afraid to give over control to him. It’s a nice combination.  I couldn’t help but love her.

There’s a mystery presented pretty early on in this story that totally drew me in. Who had it in for the Justice brothers and why? Who had the technology and capability to find information that should have been classified and is there one target or are they out to take down the whole family? This being book one in the series left the door open for so many possibilities and had me glued to the pages to see where it would go. I’m glad I didn’t have money riding on predicting the ending. I would have lost it all.

This story has a very satisfying conclusion for Harper and Seth but there’s obviously more in store for the rest of family. After having met Adam, Zach, and Heath, (and possibly Lincoln) I have no doubt their HEA is going to just as hard won as Seth’s and just as exciting. It’s possible I met one, maybe two, future Mrs. Justice in this book. Harper has some pretty awesome and loyal friends. These guys don’t stand a chance!

Just as an aside, if I wasn’t already a total Fiona Archer fan girl, she throws in some pop-culture references that would have won me for sure. Who doesn’t love a good Angel marathon and then showing some Firefly love? I was putty in her hands.

This book is for readers who crave more than a sweet, simple romance. This one is for the readers who want to be on the edge of their seat and breathless from the moment Seth and Harper set eyes on each other. Seth is intense when it comes to pleasuring Harper and most certainly when it comes to protecting her. He’s not perfect but he’s perfect for her. As this is the first story in the Sons of Sydney series, now is the best time to join the fun by picking up a copy of Craving Justice.

Several Centuries ago Drorgan was cursed into stone. Every twenty five years he is given one night and one day to find the woman willing to accept him in both forms.

It’s the price to pay for his past behavior.

As a lost, lonely little girl Rhonda Butterbaugh was rescued by the dragon in the stone and she has never forgotten her fierce protector. It sparked her fascination with all things dragon. If only they were real. There are no such things as fairytales, however.

When she is attacked on her way home, and wakes up in a cursed magic castle, complete with a fierce dragon shifting lord, her life takes a turn for the surreal.

Determined to break the curse and rescue Drorgan and his kin, she hasn’t counted on Drorgan’s resistance.

Dragons aren’t supposed to be noble.

It’s a fairy tale comes to life. You could say that this is a twist in the beauty and the beast story except the beast is a dragon and the beauty is a librarian.

I loved the beginning. It starts out with the curse and then time changes and you see a child and how she fell in love with anything dragon.

The Dragon in the Stone is smoothly written, never letting me getting lost or asking myself ‘which time period am I in now?’ which is often the case with books that move back and forth between the past and present. I don’t enjoy having to go backwards in a book to reorient myself or keep myself on track.

Drorgan is a dragon shifter, the only one for centuries. He’s been stuck in limbo thanks to a curse for too long because of his past behavior. He’s changed a lot over the years, and seen the changes that the humans have taken. He also knows that if the humans knew about the existence of his species there is a high possibility of he would be killed.

The Dragon in The Stone is a full on erotic story with a lot of hot, spicy moments, bondage, sex, and spanking.

Rhonda is a woman who grew up in a foster home. While Drorgan was cursed to stone until he finds the love of his life that’s willing to not only deal with his human side but also with the dragon side.

My first thought when I read about how Rhonda and Drorgan met was ‘Now, that’s gonna leave a lasting impression on him’. The author put me right in the scene. I was able to see and feel what they felt.

Rhonda is persistent and determined. She has to be to deal with the Dragon who almost always got what he came for or wanted. I liked reading about their spats/talks/conversation. It brought a smile to my face.

Dragons, curses, witches, and magic castles…oh my! Growing up I read a lot of fairy tales and before I started reading erotic I never thought a fairy tale story could be like this. This is essentially a fairy tale BUT a fairy tale for adults, not children or teenagers. It is for readers who enjoy a full body story with more heat than dragon’s breath. Really good read!
