Daniel and Billy are both struggling in their personal lives with not only their careers, but also with their past relationships. They both have a lot to learn about communication, even if they already seem to have the intimacy part down pat!

The fiery passion between these two is only exemplified by how sweet they are as characters. They are both so caring that naturally when Chuck comes along with a mysterious past and a secret lost love, Billy and Daniel together find the key that may just be able to open up this grumpy old man’s heart again.

David C. Dawson does an excellent job creating characters that make an impactful story. Incredibly saucy sex scenes cannot even compare to the vibrant sauciness of Daniel’s good friend Maggie, whose biting wit and sincerity help craft this from a story of lust to a wonderfully memorable piece of romance. Not to mention Billy’s mother Sarah, who is an incredibly light and caring character with a set of unfortunate circumstances that just help guide Billy to be his best self. But trust me, there are many lusty moments too! The plot was thick with moments all over the spectrum of happy, sexy, and sad, and it was written so well that I was able to really let my heart laugh, love, and grieve the parts of the story that required me to do so.

Heroes in Love is an encouraging story about love, future aspirations, and forgiveness. It gives a wonderful assortment of queer representation that is so important to a much wider audience, and a story that is as well-written as it is H.O.T! David C. Dawson wrote true, REAL, love that takes hard work and care to cultivate, and it was such a pleasure to read along as the characters find their way to their true happiness. The side characters created their own interest in me as a reader, and I found myself enjoying their quirks just as much as those of the main characters.

In between the remarkably sexy scenes where we find Jackie bound intricately to pieces of furniture, Lou Sylvre also delivers some really sweet moments that ring true in Jackie and Brian’s unfurling relationship. But sweet loving was not the only thing making my heart race while reading this novel. Knowing that any moment the other shoe would drop, following along from the perspective of the criminals as their stories race forward to meet with the lovers, made putting the book down nearly impossible!

A Shot of Fear is the second novel in the Vasquez Inc. series, and I would say that although this novel could be read on its own, reading the first novel to learn a little bit more about Jackie and Brian would be an absolute pleasure. All in all, this book FLEW by and I would absolutely consider giving it another read!

The suspense is like a cliffhanger on every page of this novel, making me flip through the pages so quickly the book could have taken flight right out of my hands!

Experiencing the relationship between Charlie and Leslie had me hanging on every word. Getting a peek into their real lives made the story so heartwarming at times. The wonderful moments with Charlie and Nate, and with Leslie and Sissy give this story beautiful connections with representation of people who have loved ones with a disability or with people who have disabilities themselves.

Intermixed with the wonderfully sweet, the readers also get the shockingly suspenseful and terribly thrilling moments as Leslie’s past starts to catch up with her. The plot takes many interesting twists and turns, making it almost impossible to walk away from. Tension kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time wanting to know how it would all shake out but also never wanting the book to end!

The only small warnings I have are the references to kidnapping and rape that may be triggering to some readers. There are a few moments where actions are described, but graphic depictions were kept to a minimum and only used to forward the plot and not to be dwelled upon for longer than absolutely necessary. Unless you have specific triggers to any of the aforementioned warnings, I think this book would be completely safe and enjoyable for you to read.

I would quickly read Binding Circumstance again, having fallen in love with the characters and their stories. Kelley Griffin did an incredible job weaving together the perfect suspenseful mystery thriller with a whirlwind romance, making the plot tightly packed with action and excitement. There is absolutely no question that I will be purchasing her other works and staying up well into the night to eat up her stories!

Xico, the fearless, charming, and patient boy of practically a different world from Iskra, guides us along in learning that fears that have been faced can become strengths. He never gives in, and brings color to Iskra’s world of mandated gray.

I am in awe. Truly, I am emotional and delighted that I could fall so easily into a book like this again. All the nostalgia of falling for a dystopian series, gripping the edge of my seat while the turning pages grip the edge of my heart, having me question if any of us, (me and the characters), are going to make it out unscathed from the story that Evelyn Puerto has brought us.

Though Flight of the Spark was written for a teen audience, it brought with it so many important lessons that especially in today’s world would be so immeasurably important for audiences of all ages. It took me away to a different world, but saddled itself up parallel to the one we live in now, helping me find perspective in these unsure times.

Don’t pass up the opportunity to enter the world that Evelyn Puerto has so passionately created for us. Flight of the Spark will fill you with a magic you may have thought disappeared a long time ago. I can’t wait for the sequel.

There was absolutely chemistry between Ava and Logan, but their consecutive journeys to realization of this mutual lust, and maybe the inklings of something more, were often quickly darkened by the past that they were fighting every step of the way in this novel.

As erotic fiction, this book has plenty to offer in the ways of spicy, but it seems to be lacking a hero. I really want to like Logan. I look back on the kid he was in high school, wanting the pretty girl but not knowing how to properly show his affection or how to keep it from his friends, but glossing over what he does as an adult is difficult to do. His character fits his story arc, but it is hard to forgive his actions as easily as Ava seems to. I think his redemptions come a little too easily, and I think the readers would agree that at the very least some groveling on his end could have improved his character greatly.

I wouldn’t call Logan a hero, but I might use the term vigilante. Taking power into his own hands to try and ease the scars of his past, while also in his own way taking leadership and care of an entire city. He was flawed, but wanting to change or not there were still glimmers of that doting boy from the past. And Ava saw that too, whether she acknowledged it or not. Complicated is the best term to describe these two, and though not an easy read I believe these two found what they needed in one another.

Blackmailed by Her Bully is dangerously sexy, daring, and scandalous. Not for the faint of heart. Will Ava and Logan ever be able to get over all of the tainted moments in their past, or will vengeance win out over all?

We see right away that Emmett’s belief in Occult practices is still a point of tension with his long-term partner Jackson, and conversations involving anything to do with magic or spells is completely off the table for the two of them. But this fact does not disrupt their healthy sexual appetite.

Elizabeth Monvey gives the readers no shortage of steamy scenes within this short story, consuming most of the storyline.

The readers get a nice taste of the relationships formed before this novel begins and even gives a slight nod to other interesting characters in the story, but these are mostly small facts that will get us quickly back into a sexy romp session between Emmett, Jackson, and an unintentionally invited Incubus.

I think the story still works well in its short format without needing too much plot substance, but I had wished the heated scenes would have been a little more intense. As a reader if I am not getting a deeper plot with slowly developing character arcs that really help me get excited for the moment when the passion ignites, then I prefer to get down and dirty and that it really GOES there. I would have loved to spend a little more time in the heat of the moment, really getting into the tension with our main characters, but the scenes felt a little too rushed to actually connect to. After all, there is no need to play nice when a demon is involved.

It took almost no time at all to read, but it did draw me in with anticipation of what could paranormally happen. If you are looking for a quick read with an interesting concept, and a mostly sex-based plot, My Incubus Boyfriend could certainly be the story for you!

Ripples Through Time is completely captivating. It has a plot that is dripping with wonderfully crafted tension, and the execution of the story is something that has the reader speeding through the pages hoping to jump through time with Tess Corbin as quickly as possible!

Tess Corbin is a powerful female lead who does not waste time waiting on a man to be her hero. Instead she takes the heroism into her own hands and proves that she is a force to be reckoned with and that she knows what she’s doing. A tough as nails, educated doctor who proves over and over again that she is more than her gorgeous blonde hair and sparkling green eyes!

Her story is full of strength and her resilience as a woman struggling to be heard in two different timelines, modern and not so modern, opening readers eyes to the shocking similarities of history repeating itself as it pertains to the treatment of women. Tess jumps in feet first to any and all conflicts and while the audience is cheering her forth in her endeavors, they are also rooting for the connection between Tess and Heywood, two people who seem to have been fated to meet.

Heywood Paxton’s life seems to always be in some sort of turmoil and it is absolutely breathtaking to watch as Tess helps him away from his burdens. Their budding and taboo relationship thrills and tenses the audience leaving them to wonder how everything is going to turn out. Will Tess and Heywood really be able to beat the odds together? This forceful pull between them is what keeps the pages turning, along with the fast paced plot that gives us more than enough twists to keep us on our toes.

After finishing this novel in a day and a half, pausing only briefly for sleep, I’m so invested in the lives and the story of the characters that I have to remind myself that I have already completed the book, seeing as I am still caught up in the excitement of wanting to know what happens next. I may just have to read it again immediately to keep myself at bay!

Ripple Through Time not only gives readers a fast paced mystery packed inside of some of our wildest fantasies, but it also delivers an sensual slow-burn romance that commands the reader’s attention at the simple mention of our main characters’ names on the same page together. Cassandra Jamison does an excellent job of working in both time periods, and makes an unbelievable tale feel realistic and natural within the world of her story. Even her side characters have deep development and connection to the leads that keep the audience wondering how they will all possibly fit together in the puzzle that is Tess Corbin’s life. The passion Jamison has for writing is felt within the love that this story is unfolding, and I absolutely cannot wait to read more from her. Do yourself a favor and pick up this book. Let Tess and Heywood show you how their story is absolutely worth your time.
