To echo last week’s ice and snow theme, this week I will be sharing ten books that are set in either the North Pole or the South Pole.
Sometimes Antarctica will appear instead, but I think that’s close enough to count.
If it’s going to be cold and snowy for the next four months for me, why not read about places that are even colder and snowier?
1.Skating to Antarctica by Jenny Diski
2.The Telescope in the Ice: Inventing a New Astronomy at the South Pole by Mark Bowen
3. A Negro Explorer at the North Pole: The Autobiography of Matthew Henson by Matthew A. Henson
4.Arctic Autumn: A Journey to Season’s Edge by Pete Dunne
5. Race to the South Pole by Roald Amudsen
6. The Ferocious Summer: Adelie Penguins and the Warming of Antarctica by Meredith Hooper
7. Ice Bound: A Doctor’s Incredible Battle For Survival at the South Pole by Jerri Nielsen
8. The Big Bang Symphony: A Novel of Antarctica by Lucy Jane Bledsoe
9. Ada Blackjack: A True Story of Survival in the Arctic by Jennifer Niven
10. Improbable Eden: The Dry Valleys of Antarctica by Bill Green
Wow! So many titles! Good job! 🙌
Thank you. 🙂
Love your focus for this week’s topic! Though I personally tend to read beachy summer books when the coldness of winter starts to get to me 🙂
That makes sense. 🙂
Great list, Aymee! I hope you’re having a good week! Happy Tuesday!
Thank you.
Nice list, I didn’t even know where to start with that topic 😂
Thanks. 😀
Wow! A theme within a theme! Great list.
Thank you.
Great list. Shackleton’s book South would fit well too.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I love the way you applied a wintry theme to this one!
Thank you very much.
Haha I love these!! My book club’s December BOTM theme is winter vibes and we’d been looking for titles like these!
Oh, cool! I hope this list helps you then.
An interesting collection of titles.

Thank you.
I didn’t know so many books about Antarctica, very intriguing,
There are a ton of them!
Fun take on this week’s prompt! I’ve read at least one book in the South Pole and enjoyed it. Great list and thanks for visiting my TTT!
You’re welcome. I’m glad you liked that book.
With exception to Jennifer Niven as an author, I don’t think I’ve familiar with any of these authors or titles! But featuring winter-y titles is a great theme as we’re heading into the winter season. Which does make me sad. 😉 Thanks so much for visiting my list today!
You’re quite welcome.
Reading about cold climates while wrapped up in a cozy blanket with a cup of tea sounds like a perfect way to embrace the season.
Thanks for sharing these recommendations! Enjoy your reads!
You’re welcome. Cheers!
Love your list. Lots of new to me books to explore and no doubt add to my ever growing TBR pile
That’s awesome!
Such a fun idea! I love reading about cold places though I hate feeling cold, I’ll have to look into some of these books 🙂

May you enjoy them.
Wonderful list! Ice Bound was an incredible book — I loved reading it and learning about her experiences.
It’s amazing she survived!
So fun! Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome.
Interesting looking titles! We haven’t had snow where I am in South East UK for a while and before that it was such a thing layer that it didn’t even count. Other areas around me had a bit, it just always seems to miss us!
Have a great week!
It’s funny how that works in some areas. I hope you get snow this winter if you want it.
I love that you were able to find so many titles focused on the Poles. Fun angle for this week!
