Top Ten Tuesday: Books I’d like for Christmas

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Welcome to another edition of Top Ten Tuesday!  This week is all about books I’d like for Christmas.  As fellow book lovers, I’m sure we can all agree that books make wonderful presents!  Here are some I’d love to see under my tree this year.

The Last Kingdom (The Saxon Stories #1) by Bernard Cornwell-I’ve been watching this show on Netflix and I love it!  In my experience books are usually better than the movie or show.  I’d love to start reading this series.

Hunting Prince Dracula (Stalking Jack the Ripper #2) by Kerri Maniscalco-I really enjoyed Stalking Jack the Ripper and need to read more in this series!

Escaping Houdini (Stalking Jack the Ripper #3) by Kerri Maniscalco-See above.

How to Be a Tudor by Ruth Goodman-Her book How to be Victorian was excellent, and I look forward to reading more of her work.

My Lady Jane (The Lady Janies #1) by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows-This book was so much fun!  I borrowed it from the library and would now like my own copy.

My Plain Jane (The Lady Janies #2) by Cynthia Hand, Brodi, Ashton, and Jodi Meadows-Since I enjoyed the first book so much, I’d like to read the second.

Six of Crows (Six of Crows #1) by Leigh Bardugo-Another book I borrowed from the library that I would now like to own.

Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows #2) by Leigh Bardugo-See above.

Lady Susan, The Watsons, and Sanditon by Jane Austen-I’ve read most of Jane Austen’s work, but none of these stories.

Have you read any of these?  If so, what did you think?  What books would you like for Christmas?

I haven’t read those. I would love to see Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens.

  2. Ooo! I should have added “Crooked Kingdom” to my list. But since I haven’t read “Six of Crows” (yet) maybe it’s best if I give the series a chance first. I’d also really like to read Kerri’s series someday too (I think I own the first two books); they look so interesting! Hope you find all of these under the tree. Merry Christmas and thanks so much for the Finding Wonderland visit. 🙂

  3. Six of Crows was such a great read. I really want to try the Lady Janies series. Those books sound like so much fun! I hope these books find their way to you! Merry Christmas! 🙂

    • Yes, My Lady Jane is so much fun! I hope you get a chance to check it out. I hope you had Merry Christmas and thank you for visiting. 🙂

  4. I haven’t read these yet, but the Grisha Verse books are definitely on my list to read in 2019! I would like to read the Kerri Maniscalco books too, but I don’t have immediate plans for them.

  5. My Lady Jane was so much fun. I loved it! And SoC was amazing. Crooked Kingdom was good too, but I was mad about this one part, so it was less amazing than SoC. Hope you get some of these!

    • My Lady Jane was great! Yes, I know what you mean bout Crooked Kingdom. I still enjoyed it though. Thank you for visiting!

  6. Six of Crows is sooo good and I still have Crooked Kingdom on my TBR pile to get to at some stage! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that some of these (or all of them) find their way onto your shelves.

  7. I hope you found some good bookish stuff under the tree for Christmas! 🙂

I watched the first season of Last Kingdom on Netflix a while back and I just saw that there are new episodes, so I need to give those a try.

    • I just finished watching season three of Last Kingdom on Netflix and really enjoyed it. I really want to read the books now! Thank you for visiting. 🙂

  8. The Six of Crows duology is amazing! I hope you love it!

  9. I hope that you ended up getting some of these! You have reminded me how many series I want (need!) to start- especially Stalking Jack the Ripper, I hear such good things! And My Lady Jane!

  10. I need to read Escaping from Houdini still! I am still feeling iffy on the series, but for some reason it keeps pulling me in. I just read the Grishaverse for the first time this year and so I am hoping to read the Six of Crows duology in 2019! Amazing list I hope you got some (or all!) of these this year! <3

  11. I hope you got at least a few of the books from your list for Christmas and had a great holiday.

  12. I hope you found a few of these books under your tree and had a wonderful holiday!
