Women can’t keep their hands off billionaire Damien Call. The mysterious mogul has it all: fast cars, killer looks, and a brain that just might be his best asset.

Mia Beck loves her job at a PI firm. Her coworker Jake stars in most of her daydreams, so seeing him everyday is no hardship.

Jake hasn’t believed in human goodness since he worked black ops for the CIA. Romancing innocent Mia is unthinkable, no matter how enticingly submissive she seems to be. Then a case of corporate espionage forces them to pose as a dom/sub duo, to catch the eye of accused wrongdoer Damien. No fantasy is off limits for this voyeur—until the attraction the pair exerts lures him to go hands on . . .

A lot of young men are seen to recover full viagra prices go to drugstore sexual function in just six to eight weeks of medicine. Ready for an erotic romance that will blow your socks off? Give Beck & Call a try because Ms. Holly loaded this novel up with all the good stuff. The author introduced three characters that are all unique, quirky in their own way, and how they all mesh is a wonderful orchestration of personalities.

Damien is the aloof control freak with money to burn and a heart to protect. Jake is hardened ex-military with some experiences that inadvertently come in handy but who is doing his darnedest to stay away from the innocent and delightful Mia. Mia is the sweet custard filling in the middle of the treat. Yes, she’s a nice girl with a yen to please those she cares for but there’s nothing vanilla about this girl. She thinks she’s bland but when a case comes their way at the investigative company she works for, it means taking on a new challenge where her special skill and sunny personality provides the edge they need.

In the course of the case, Mia finds out more about herself than she thought possible and it’s very exciting. The reason why it’s such a page turner is the fire and sparks that erupt between Jake and Mia. The seduction was set in motion in the first chapter and the rest of the book takes a reader on a journey of sexual exploration, revelation and relationship development. Ms. Holly has perfected the telling of a romance while between the sheets, in the kitchen or wherever else passion overtakes her characters. Interspersed throughout are insights into what makes the characters tick because the point of view is told through all three characters, but Mia’s POV is a bit more prominent.

While reading the love scenes I saw the characters share secrets and insights about themselves which made what they were doing less about sex and more about falling in love. It wasn’t just about touching each other’s bodies but their hearts. The hardest heart to reach was Damien’s. His situation was unexpected and I really felt for him. However, once the HEA was reached, I had the distinct wish that he, with Jake and Mia at his back, would stand up once and for all to the perpetrator of his greatest hurt and stand tall and proud and tell that person that they had no more power over him, that he found people who love and believe in him. Because that is what Damien found in Mia and Jake – people who really won’t let him down, who believe in him and love him no matter what. And for me, that was the absolute most stupendously wonderful and powerful moment in the book. If I had to choose whose story was most compelling, I’d choose Damien’s.

Less a reader think this novel is only about sex, I have to mention the very devious little drama that plays out. There’s a bit of corporate espionage going on but I had no idea which way it was going to go, and when the conflict came to a crisis point, Ms. Holly presented a gripping and exciting conclusion which included a bit of military style help, cool gadgets and some crazy and delusional people to mess things up. It was very action packed.

If I could ask for things to make this book better, it would have been to get a clearer insight into Jake, to understand how Jake fit into the club scene. It was sort of hinted at and it was definitely titillating and intriguing but I was left unsatisfied. I can guess it was because it might have detracted from the main story but … just what was Jake and Curtis’s connection when they gave each other those looks? Did I miss something? One thing is for sure, this book is easy to re-read, so maybe I’ll figure it out with round two. A clever thing I did figure out was the novel’s title. I got a kick out of that.

Beck & Call is truly a romantic erotic story not to miss. Fans of Ms. Holly can be excited about this one; it’s a great showcase of her storytelling strengths. I’m a happy reader.

Top Five Embarrassing Situations

1) Falling flat on my fanny in a crowded store that I frequented. Lots of people I knew as witnesses and would-be aid-givers. The fall hurt like the devil, flashed heat through me from head to foot, but I bopped back up, as though I were just fine. Despite having broken my pinkie finger. Luckily that was all I broke.

2) (This wouldn’t bother me as much these days, but people were more formal in restaurants when this happened.) Eating in a fancy restaurant with my hard-of-hearing grandmother. She desperately needed hearing aids but refused to get them. We were seated at a small table for two. Her back was to hallway where the waitresses emerged from the kitchen. I told Grandma that my lunch didn’t taste very good. Just as the waitress was coming toward us, staring straight at me, but unseen by my grandmother, Grandma said in a mega-phone voice, “What!? Did you say your food is awful!? That you can’t eat it!?” And no amount of signally on my part would get to stop going on and on until the whole restaurant was staring at us.

3) I flew to Chicago to an RWA Conference one July years ago. (That’s Romance Writers of America.) Since I knew the weather would not only be boiling hot, but more humid that I am acclimated to, I opted to wear a tank top with a built in bra and a little jean shirt over it. When I got to Chicago, I discovered my luggage was lost. That meant I had no conference clothes, and no bra. Since the hotel was downtown, finding something to wear wasn’t a problem, but finding a bra? This doesn’t seem like that much of a problem for people these days, but when this happened, it was totally embarrassing to me.

4) The mall parking lot had been cleared of snow, and the snow scooped into small mounds here and there. My eldest daughter and I were going shopping. I saw a mound and thought I’d give her a little laugh. Hah. I drove with all good intention of plowing into one such mound. I was picturing a fluffy snowy impact. I forgot it was in the low 20s outside that day. The mound was frozen solid. Ack. Lucky I didn’t damage the car. Much. Daughter teased me for years about that one. I was red in the face for half an hour after that.

5) Walking down the aisle of the airplane with TP hanging from the waist of my jeans. Thought my daughter would die laughing. Suggestion to airlines: hang mirrors on the bathroom doors.

After setting up his latest restaurant, renowned American chef Jake Pearson has a big project booked in Miami, but not before he’s best man at his friend’s wedding.

Is there a wrong time to meet the right person?

Partnered at the wedding, Jake falls for Mandy’s sassy, natural style, and she can’t get enough of his passion for food—and for her. But when it’s a case of finding love at the wrong time, can they find room on their plates for each other?

Ms. Ainslie’s Her Sister’s Wedding is a zippy contemporary romance with a great lead character, Mandy Evans. Mandy does not impress as an exceptionally nice person, yet… her circumstances are intriguing. We quickly discover that she considers herself a journalist though she seems more of a restaurant critic. She dresses well but is underprepared–not impressive.

Still, she has friends. She can rely on her pal Dario, who teases but will help her out. Conversations are quick, witty and believable; typical party fair. Mandy seems a bit like a fish out of water, yet it’s fun to follow her around this restaurant’s big opening party. She becomes a bit more human, especially after we learn she’s agreed to be a last-minute bridesmaid for her sister, and suddenly the whole dynamic changes.

Mandy, we soon discover, is more than the glamor gal we see on the outside, and chef Jake Pearson gains a little inkling of the same thing. Their meeting includes a funny little twist (no spoilers here…but it IS a case of serendipity) but this matters little: by this point, we readers are truly hooked. Mandy may be able to carry off the black dress and stilettos, but she’s also got good intentions, and dreams for the future–dreams that include Paris. A certain coincidence might help out the ‘love story’ but at the same time…those very dreams threaten the whole thing.

Her Sister’s Wedding is a great story, a look at a certain sophisticated lifestyle, and the discovery of some very ‘real’ and engaging main characters. The story line is quick and unpredictable and in many ways just plain fun. The use of incredibly long run-on sentences may be a stylistic choice but are occasionally mind-boggling enough to test your attention span- my one complaint. 4 stars, for a good overall read.

This story blended romance and science fiction together seamlessly. It took a little while for the latter to show up due to other subplots that needed to be explored first, but it was well worth the wait. One of the things I enjoy about steampunk is how flexible it can be about borrowing intriguing concepts from other subgenres of science fiction, and there was definitely quite a bit of that going on here.

There was one scene in the middle of this tale that I would have liked to see addressed again in the climax. A character in it mentions something that I also wondered about as a reader. While this issue was discussed a little bit, I think it would have made more sense for it to come up again naturally later on. This is a minor criticism, but I would have easily bumped the rating up to five stars had it been mentioned at least one more time in the plot. I was otherwise thrilled with how everything was woven together.

The biggest reason why I chose such a high rating for this book was due to what happened in the last few pages. This section tied together all of the themes of the plot beautifully. I was especially moved by the imagery in the final scene, and I couldn’t have imagined a better way to end it. It was an excellent introduction to Mr. Botzenhart’s work. I’m excited to see what he’ll come up with next!

Clockwork Heart was fantastic. I’d heartily recommend it to fans of science fiction and romance alike.

Paul might be blind, but he has a full life between deejaying at a local radio station and playing on stage with a band a few times a month. It’s been a while since he’s been with anyone, though, and when Thor asks to take him home, he’s not quite sure what to do.

Thor’s been listening to the sexy DJ’s voice for years and is thrilled to finally meet Paul in person. Can his aural fascination grow into more? And will Paul be right there with him?

Paul has been singing in the same bar for almost a decade. He always goes with his dad and there was comfort for Paul in the ritual. Paul’s surprised when Thor introduces himself one night and asks to sit at the table with them. Paul is then stunned when Thor recognizes his voice from the radio show he DJs nightly. No one had ever recognized him from his voice before. Even better, Thor’s not the least put off by the fact Paul’s blind. One thing quickly leads to another and very soon Paul’s happily bringing Thor home. Both men hope this could be more than a one night stand.

This is a lighthearted, fun, quick read. I loved the chemistry between Paul and Thor, and found it delightfully unique how differently Paul envisioned things, compensating for his blindness. Like how Paul associates colours with things, red for hot, brown for coffee beans. It made sense and let me see a little into his world. I also really enjoyed Thor’s character, all hot and eager. I giggled a few times how adamant he was (in his own mind) how he wasn’t stalkerish just because he fantasized and could come just listening to Paul on the radio. I found it really cute and cool.

Thor and Paul are wonderful together, with sizzling chemistry and unable to keep their hands off each other. I found this a funny, sweet and romantic read. While initially the men were both happy to just hook up, the bond they formed together quickly deepened and I found the ending really satisfying. Sexy and full of tenderness, this is an excellent read for romantics looking for a bit of spice, or M/M readers who are easing themselves into the genre. I really enjoyed this wonderful book.
