Glad Tidings began as a short story which soon became a 75,000 word novel. A novel which was ultimately rejected from an editor I was confident would accept it. Was I disappointed? You bet. But not defeated. I was determined to find Glad Tidings a home, but where? Then came a call for submissions for the Class of ’85 reunion series from The Last Rose of Summer line of The Wild Rose Press. As luck would have it, my book was a reunion story. The only problem, the maximum word count for the series was 40,000 words. Much of what I’d written would have to be-horror of horrors-eliminated. Once I got over the distasteful idea of that, I found editing the book down to almost half of its former self to be first a daunting, then humbling experience. It was also one of the most gratifying writing projects I’ve ever completed. Who knew the book and its characters would become more interesting and more powerful emotionally, simply by cutting things in half? A fact I often recall as I go on to the next project and the one after that.

Good morning all! I’m so happy to be here today with all of your celebrating four wonderful years with the LASR/WC crew. Congratulations on your success and here’s to so much more!

I liked both of these characters from the beginning, especially Nick who I guessed had a very valid reason for not wanting to get involved. While the way these two seem to keep running into one another did come across as contrived at times, you do put that aside because when they’re together on the page, you can feel their attraction and the sexual tension that’s building. The author did a good job with keeping me guessing about whether they’ll make love. They came close to it a couple of times but when they did finally get to their part of their relationship, keeping us in suspense made it all the more fun.

Secondary characters are great too, very well drawn and they complement Nick and Halley really well. I also liked the subplots. Halley and her friend are about to open a bakery. Halley’s love for baking and cooking is also fun and very descriptive. My favorite subplot was suspenseful, with Halley having a stalker. You’re glad she has Nick.

I kept wondering what the tragedy in Nick’s past would be. The author kept me guessing and when you learn about what happened, you want to cheer him on because you realize what a sacrifice it’s been for him helping Halley deal with her attack and subsequent stalker/creepy neighbor.

Pacing was good and, although this seems like lots of plot and characters, the suspense element makes you want to read on so it’s a quick read too. If you’re looking for a sexy suspense novel this summer with two characters I think you’ll enjoy, this is one to try.

The sex is as erotic as the setting and these two characters are very likeable. The dialogue and descriptive passages were nicely balanced in this short read.

At the end of the story there’s a twist of sorts, well, we know what it is, but Adrian doesn’t and I think that’s what I liked most about this story.

Well-written, well-plotted with plenty of heat, Beautiful Storm would make a great addition to anyone’s TBR list.

I really enjoyed the opening to this story. A step back in the past to see both main characters and how they first met. When we fast forward to the present we meet a completely different Heather. The author did a great job showing us the transformation of her character. She’s now someone you almost despise but somewhere in the back of your mind you sense something has happened to her to turn her into this rebellious and sometimes unlikeable young woman. Tristan is still his delightful and in many scenes I felt sorry that he had to endure Heather’s temper and attitude.

The secondary characters in this story are great and helped to round out this short read. The dialogue and pacing were both spot on. It’s a sexy story full of sexual tension as Heather and Tristan go about their business at the ranch and the author does a first class job with making you finally see Heather through Tristan’s eyes which eventually makes her more tolerable.

I won’t give away what Heather was hiding but when the author did finally reveal the dark secret, all became clear as to why she acted out during the first half of the story. I would have liked to have been told this earlier in the story so we could have spent more time with this couple while Tristan mends the hurt she’s been through.

This is definitely a story to pick up if you like a sexy cowboy and a quick read.

I liked the idea that not only had the author chosen to make the law person female in this story but also enjoyed that Lana was a modern woman in other aspects of her life too.

I thought the story would have a different ending and the one the author chose surprised me. It was satisfying and if you’re looking for a ‘quickie’ read for a hot summer day or night, this one fits the bill.

Wow, what an opening to this story, both the main characters in the wrong place at the wrong time…in a bank while it’s being robbed. This hooked me straight away and I enjoyed the witty banter between these two while all this is going on. When the scare is over and they go their separate ways you’re hoping they meet up again and soon.

I haven’t read any of the other books in this series but it really didn’t matter because the author features some of the characters from other stories and gives a quick run through on who they are and their relationship to Matt. He’s hot, hunky and when Savannah is cold to his advances, you feel for but him but know she can’t resist him for long.

When the two do get together, it’s hot and sexy and just when you think things are going to work out, Savannah plays even harder to get. There’s a very sexy ménage a trios in the middle of the story with another hot, hunky male who’s a friend of Matt and appeared in another story. You do wonder if Savannah will ever commit to Matt and begin to worry that maybe she’ll continue to play it cool.

However, this is a romance and the ending is very satisfying. Dialogue and pacing are both spot on for this short read. In fact, the author does a first rate job with adding enough back story without you getting lost, but not too much that it interrupts this couple’s story. This one definitely has me wanting to read more books in this series.

If you’re looking for suggestions for your summer to read list, I highly recommend adding this one.

The love scenes were sexy and not overdone and the pacing moved nicely too. I really liked the way they put aside their past to work together. While you’re reading this story you know these two characters are perfect for one another and you find yourself cheering them on until they discover that too. I also liked the idea that both had a ‘gift’ that made them even more perfect as soul mates.

If you’re looking for something hot and fun to read and you’re a fan of either mysteries or paranormals, this is one I recommend to you.
