Ms. Allyn plunges you in at the deep end with this story. When it opens we are introduced to Maggie and learn that she is setting a trap for Alec. When the story switches to his POV, you sense that Maggie will have a tough time staying angry and vengeful toward him for long. Best thing I liked about this story was the dialogue and the secondary characters. The pacing was also just right for this length of book. The only thing that stopped me from thoroughly enjoying this tale was the language used for different body parts, for example “rod”. It had the feel of “purple prose” and was jarring and I think took the edge off the sexiness of this tale.

However, if you’re looking for something a little different than the usual boy meets girl type story, or if you enjoy books with characters who seem destined to be enemies for eternity, this might be a good pick for you.

The setting of Savannah with its history of ghosts and things that go bump in the night was an added plus to this paranormal tale. Vannah is a great character who you get to know quickly through her interactions with her sister Stacia. When they set off on a ghost walk and meet with Cameron, the tour leader, you sense there is some connection between him and Vannah and want to read on to learn more.

I can’t give away what happens because that would spoil the main part of this story but let’s just say there’s a very happy ending for Vannah and she is able to find closure.

The dialogue is natural sounding and the pacing spot on for this short read…although I wanted this one to last longer.

If you’re looking for a sexy paranormal that can be read in 30 minutes or less I’d say don’t miss this one.

“I’m divided. I want you to eat, but I want to take that dress off you.”

Rising from the bed again, he collected the covered plate and eating utensil, and set them in her hands held out before her. Then he removed the cover to present a dish in the meatball family. His smile bordering on the diabolical, he loaded the utensil and put it to her mouth. Her sharp eye on him, she accepted a flavor she’d never encountered before, savory, mysterious, delectable. So was Danny.

Stalking, he roved around until he was behind her, and he leaned, pressing his nose to her exposed neck, inhaling her freshly bathed scent as she chewed. The act carried such an animal-feel to it. The alpha-male predator had brought his chosen a meal…and he savored his upcoming reward for that.

Having already been beneath him, arrested and detained by him, she chewed quicker. Was she sweating yet? She soon would be. Oh, gawd, she already throbbed, her body programmed now and eager for his possession. Did he know he owned her? She bet he knew.

His hair danced over her bare shoulder. “You smell like delicious dinner.”

Every word he uttered with that deep voice was verbal chocolate, making her ache all the more for him. “You always have an invitation to feast upon me, Danny.”

She felt his lips thin into another secret smile against the sensitive flesh as he pressed sizzling kisses up her neck to her ear. “Every night I’ll figure out a way to put you in my bed.”

Should she tell him how easy that will be?

Weakened, she scooped up a forkful of dinner and fed him over her shoulder. He groaned his approval, and he sent his big hands to span and stroke her figure in the silky gown, a sensuous experience that blotted out everything for the moment but his contact and body heat. She would memorize a list of the things that made him groan. Hearing it launched cascades of thrill through her. His exploration slipped downward from behind her and onto her belly, pressing her against his long, hard physique and sliding downward to the heat between her thighs. She almost dropped the plate.

Mm…Danny and good food together. That was total pleasure.

Again, he commandeered the fork and sent a bite to her mouth. As she chewed, he placed a sucking kiss below her ear. “Take another bite.” His whispers rushed lightning through her.

His lion’s mane skimmed broad shoulders. His silvery sight never left her. Before, they’d made love in shadows, and she hadn’t seen him wholly nude. He fed her another bite of dinner, then he released the clip holding back her freshly dried hair, and his long, tapered fingers caught her tumbling tresses. Stirred to a corrupt snicker, he took in the scent of her hair as though it told him everything about her, as if it fed every hungry part of him.

“How can your T-shirt say you’re faster than light when you’re so torturously slow with me?”

“I know, the longer I take with you, the more you’ll moan in my ear. And I like that a lot. It’s a triumph to feel you under my power, Faith.”

That just made her moan.

He took the empty plate from her hands and set it aside on the table, then he put her in his arms. He’d said he wouldn’t let her go to Max’s without making love to her. The intent in Danny’s eye revealed his plot to ruin her freshly bathed scent.

“Are you enjoying the moment of marking me for the demons to detect?”

“Enormously. I’ll kick them in their heads if they touch you.” His demon-slaying grin gave away his entertainment. She knew he meant for Max to get that message, as well.

“This is like unwrapping the most fun present.”

She loved being explored by him, adored it, and she noticed each lithe movement of his heavenly warrior-body, marveled at how well he’d been put together for hunting criminals and hellish merchants of misery. She’d never discourage him from doing that duty. Those monsters better run and hide.

Danny wasn’t a monster. Was he?

She reached for his jeans and unbuttoned them, feeling him hard beneath the metal teeth of the zipper. He pushed the jeans to the floor for the unwelcome interference they were. Her mouth went dry at the unveiled sight of him, worthy of an artist’s sketch, all muscle, brains, instinct, skill, action.

Danny was better than perfect. He was physically superior.

But what was he on the inside? The progeny of an angel, the breed of a demon. She recalled her brief study of the heavenly races. If Danny turned out to be more angel, what would that mean? Angels did many benevolent things, but they also struck down populations with disease, disaster, and genocide. A single angel wielded the power to destroy cities, cause famine, flood a planet.

Angels were heaven’s hit men.

Danny snatched her up by the waist, capturing her, pressing her against him, and snickering over his plans for her.

Let me start by saying I really enjoyed this story. Ms. Hart did a wonderful job creating a tale that was almost like a chick lit novel but with lots of detailed sexy love scenes thrown in. The characters are all great, especially Arden and Shane, and the dialogue top notch. I was pulled into the story from the opening line…yes, it will get your attention.

It’s a realistic plot line that had me turning the pages because Arden’s search for true love sounds plausible. It also had some humor which once again reminded me of a chick lit story. I really wish this story could have been longer so I could have read more about these two characters interacting. That’s my only complaint.

I haven’t read any other books by this author before but this one has definitely piqued my interest and I’ll be checking out more.

If you’re looking for something to read on one of the first chilly nights of the fall, this one is definitely worth checking out.

I always enjoy a story where one character is keeping someone secret from another and in this case it’s lust and worshipping from afar. The author did a great job creating a hero who was so sexy I could see why the heroine was passionate about him. When I read on and discovered that he already had a girlfriend I kept thinking, “How is this all going to work out?” which is really the charming part of this short story.

I won’t give the plot away but let’s just say Grace and Antonio do get together and the result is well worth it both for her and me. The sex scenes are incredibly hot and we were both well satisfied.

These were characters and a story I would have liked to have seen developed just a bit more. Aside from that, it was an sexy, enjoyable read with some interesting secondary characters and natural sounding dialogue.

Couples with a history reuniting is one of my favorite plots and this one didn’t disappoint me. Throw in some dirty secrets from the past and a main character with revenge on her mind and you’ve got the making of some interesting reading.

I did have mixed feelings about Charlotte, probably because Nate was introduced in the story first. I liked him a lot, he came across as a nice guy so, when I found out what he did to Charlotte I became more sympathetic to her, but at the same time felt uneasy because she’s about to go down a path she might later regret. The fact that she’s going to use Nate like he used her had me turning the pages to see if it was true he really isn’t the nice guy he seems, and what would happen to Nate when she does?

Once these two got together in some very steamy sex scenes, I had my doubts that Charlotte could actually go through with her plan. I had a feeling she was falling for Nate and, the way he’s portrayed, I couldn’t blame her for rethinking her devilish plot.

I liked the secondary characters in this story, too, but have to say Nate came across as my favorite. His and Charlotte’s conversations are natural sounding and the plot is fast-paced enough to keep my interest.

If you like your stories packed with secrets, revenge and reading about two past loves rekindling their romance, I’d recommend this one to you.

They’d had a brief fling and a ménage and the tension mounts because we know the three of them will be together once again, we just don’t know when.

I liked the unique career for this character and I think it really matched her personality. She seemed to want independence and to forget about Will and Damon but who could say no to these two gorgeous men? They come across as not only wanting her for the physical part of a relationship but emotional too.

The sex is frequent and very hot which seemed fitting considering the careers of all three characters. Will she give them what they want? Hopefully!

There’s added mystery, too, regarding how the fire got started and who the culprit is which is great. The dialogue is sharp and pacing fast so it’s a speedy read. I liked the ending. I won’t give it away but let’s just say you won’t be disappointed for any of these characters.

If you’re looking to round out the summer with a hot ménage story definitely give this one a try.

I haven’t read any of the other books in this 1 Night Stand series but after reading this one I’ll be seeking out more. Shane has been set up by his sister with a stranger who he knows will be dressed like Little Bo Peep. She’s really Mia, the sister of his business rival and has been talked into going to Vegas by her friends for this one night stand.

I liked Shane from the first page. He comes across as a sexy nice guy (complete with his cowboy outfit). I almost felt sorry for him because he’d been talked into this situation by his sister but you’re sure he’ll be well matched with Mia, who’s already been introduced in the story so you know that things are going to be okay for him. I liked the complication caused by Shane being Mia’s brother’s rival. Her brother is also in Vegas so things get really tense for her when she finds out who Shane really is.

The dialogue between these two is great, and sometimes humorous. At forty-one pages the pacing is fast and the sex hot. I would have liked to see more of a story for these two but other than that this is a fun tale that can be enjoyed when you just don’t have the time for a full length story but still need to satisfy your reading fix.

I felt these two were perfect for one another from page one so it was great to see them reconnect. There’s an underlying sexual tension brewing from the first time they meet again and things really heat up.

I especially enjoyed the dialogue between these two and the setting, London and surrounding countryside is wonderful too. Nigel comes across as very sexy and you hope that Chelsea will have the good sense to make England her home and stay with him.

The book also has a few spots where you think things could go wrong for them which keeps you reading. And, there’s a nice romantic twist at the end which I won’t spoil for you.

Pacing is fast and you can probably read this book in an hour or so. If you’re looking for a sexy story with a British setting and hot, sexy Brit, give this one a read.
