Luke Redding’s military background is an asset when it comes to managing The Retreat, but it hasn’t helped him find the submissive he longs for. A secluded life in the New Forest, witnessing a stream of happy couples playing out their fantasies, doesn’t provide much opportunity to develop a relationship either. When a friend’s manipulations lead to him taking on silver-haired Skye as a trainee sub, Luke finds it hard to trust in his own ability to provide the guidance Skye needs.
Skye Ingham wants to explore his submissive nature but the noise and crowds at The Underground are overwhelming. He can’t believe his luck to be taken under Luke’s wing and offered a job at The Retreat. As Luke tests his boundaries, Skye trusts him implicitly, but how can he convince his new Dominant to have faith in himself?
Amid the bustle and excitement of a big house party at The Retreat, Luke and Skye edge their way towards a deeper understanding of each other’s needs and desires. But it will take a final leap of faith to secure their future and open a path to love.
When Luke is given some extra help at the Retreat, he never imagined a man like Skye. His friends have worked their matchmaking magic and given Luke the opportunity to help with Skye’s submissive training while Skye helps at the Retreat. Luke has no idea, but Skye is the perfect sub for him. Right from the start the young man brings out the protectiveness in Luke and it seems that everyone, but Skye and Luke can see that they are a perfect match. Can the two find their way to each other or will they let their happy ever after slip through their fingers?
I enjoyed the way Skye and Luke’s relationship took shape. Skye is new to the lifestyle and still figuring out just what he likes and wants. It was nice to see Skye grow with the help of Luke. He blossoms into a strong submissive who enjoys himself. The two have fun as they figure out their relationship and we clearly see the love that they feel for each other. The two men fit together nicely, and I liked seeing them work through their emotions and find what they are looking for. As we watch Skye and Luke find their way, we are also treated to what is happening at the Retreat.
I enjoyed the interaction of everyone at the Retreat. The camaraderie between all the men was a nice addition to the story. Each of the supporting characters makes themselves known and enhances the story. The author has written a good read that moves along at a good pace and is full of strong characters that grab your attention and have you wanting to return to their world.
