Ms. Xander has written a series of novellas about dragons. I’ve read several and was glad to find another one was out. She makes her dragon men big, tough, and smart. The women in her stories are all types: Big or small, strong or very feminine, tomboys who can take care of themselves and more. In this story, our heroine, May has an affinity with plants. She doesn’t have good control over it, so don’t make her mad.
Each adventure is set in a different place with different circumstances in play, so they are entertaining. The stories scoot along quickly, each couple has some differences to resolve and they are entertaining to read.
May was a foundling. She wants to help other children like her. Okay, they are probably not a witch like she is, but they still have no parents and the agency needs money to feed, cloth, and teach them. Her brilliant idea for making money is to work temporarily at a strip club; it pays well. Unfortunately, her brothers descend on her and want to take her home. When she tells them she can’t get out of the contract she signed, a new man she hasn’t seen before buys the whole club!
He’s determined she will be his mate. She still doesn’t like big men and wants nothing to do with him. But she does agree to go to dinner with him. The bad news is someone tries to poison her there, and he has to rush her out to his personal plane and take her to Alaska to get the antidote. She accuses him of kidnapping and then the whole adventure gets even more interesting.
Life is never boring with dragons. I can also tell by the way the story ended there will be another coming in the future. If you like fantasy, you need to read this series. It will put a smile on your face. The stories are busy, a bit dangerous and funny, too. Ms. Xander does a good job of keeping your attention on the story.
