Jess is looking forward to her night out clubbing with her best friend, but her anticipation turns to dismay when she realises the venue is a BDSM club not the disco she’d envisioned. After a disastrous experience with the lifestyle in her past, she’s adamant she wants nothing to do with it now.
David agreed to pick up his friend’s sister as a favour, and is surprised to find himself instantly attracted to the fiery Jess. The experienced Dom recognises Jess’ bluster for what it is—fear. There is no doubt in his mind that Jess is submissive, but getting her to accept that fact will take some doing.
David is determined to help her, but it is up to Jess to accept. When Jess does give in to her secret desires, can she truly let go and be the sub David is looking for, or will she hold onto her secrets? At Diomhair you never know what will happen in the end.
I have never yearned for a kiss as much as the one between Jess and David. There is no doubt that Ms. McAllan knows how to build momentum. Furthermore, when the kiss did arrive it was all I had hoped for.
In general, this is how Secrets Shared develops. Little by little, the author unravels bits and pieces of Jess’s dark secret. Every little step made me want to learn more. I wasn’t the only one, David, the hero was also eager for more.
The connection between Jess and David is palpable from the start. Their talk, their banter, the way they act and react around each other is very well written and easily drew me into their heads.
David is my type of favorite hero: handsome, hard-headed, unable to give up, dominant, alpha and yet capable of laughing and enjoying life. Jess is his perfect counterpart: intelligent, beautiful, in control of her world, except when she’s with him. That change in attitude when David is around is what makes their Dom/sub relationship perfect. That, and the way Ms. McAllan describes their attraction and the sizzling sex that promptly ensues.
The story between David and Jess ends happily, but the author expertly delivers one more blow that has enticed me to read the next book in the series.
Secrets Shared is a well written spicy read with love, attraction and a little mystery, that you won’t be able to put down.
