Emily Minton and Shelley Springfield took it up to another level with Nasty Bastard, the fourth book in their awesome Grim Bastards MC series. So far, I’ve loved every book in this series,but for me, this second chance at love romance was really something special. It was the type of emotional story that story grabbed at my emotions and had me captivated until the end.
Smoke and Gidget had a tumultuous history. Smoke had good intentions when he broke Gidget’s heart back when they were childhood sweethearts. Gidget moved on but now she has divorced and returned to town with her son. She runs smack into trouble and gets beaten because of of her traitor father’s shady dealing. Smoke rides in to the rescue and no way is he making the same mistake again. He just has to convince Gidget that he means it forever this time. Easier said than done because Gidget was a fierce mother afraid that it wouldn’t only be her heart that got broken this time. The suspense was superb with so many twists and set your panties to smoking sex.
I felt this book was very well written. The story certainly grabbed my attention and wouldn’t let go until the end. The main couple were vividly painted . I’ve been intrigued by Smoke’s intensity since the very first book. His loyalty was another aspect that I admired so it was very romantic when he put it on the table that no matter what he was never walking away from Gidget again. His love for his returned lover’s little boy was another thing that tugged at my heart. I just loved Smoke. Now, I liked Gidget too. Good intentions and explanations aside, she got a raw deal from Smoke. Her doubts were understandable but first love dies hard and still she put up a good fight and made Smoke work hard for forgiveness.
The Grim Bastards MC Series is dark, dirty and romantic reading. I love the entire series but this book in particular. That being said I can’t wait for Hack and his mysterious Pru in the next book.
