Guy Franks doesn’t plan to give up on Jacob Richmond, the sexy model who initially brushed him off like an annoying fly. With his sister looking for a new face for her fashion line, Guy is in the perfect position to get Jacob hired. Unfortunately, when someone starts killing models, Guy has to use his magic to weed out the murderer and protect the man who has made himself a target.
Falling for a man with magical powers doesn’t fit into Jacob’s plan for his life. For this same man to be claiming they are soul mates freaks him out more than a little. However, Guy’s blue eyes scream sincerity, and Jacob had always been a sucker for an honest man. Can Jacob admit he’s in love with Guy before the killer gets to him, or will he spend the rest of his short life regretting his choices?
Set in the same world as a previous book but definitely a standalone story, Modelling Death took off for me the minute Jacob turned Guy down. I enjoy this world where there is magic but not all the humans know about it. This is a story of fated mates but Jacob is not ready for that level of commitment. I enjoyed them dating instead of instantly moving in together and living happily ever after, which really worked for these two characters.
Add in the element of suspense from someone killing models like Jacob, and Guy and Jacob have to race to find the killer before Jacob is next. I was very surprised with who the killer was and did not see it coming. There is also a unique twist from Jacob’s past that I enjoyed. Guy is the perfect mate; he’s considerate, kind and just the right amount of bossy yet was very willing to do anything and everything for Jacob which makes him irresistible.
Overall it’s a great love story with enough suspense to keep the story moving quickly and some amazing chemistry between the characters.
