My name is Alexander Madigan. I inherited a mansion that’s so old it might have been built before the thirteen colonies existed. I live all alone so I talk to myself and the twelve suits of armor standing in the mansion’s upstairs great hallway.
He’d inherited an old mansion that had knight’s armor set up in the hallway. As he was on his way up the next landing, he “pets” the old armor on the way by. Then he notices there is an extra set: Where could that have come from? The worst part was that there was someone in the armor and that someone was determined to have his head!

Mr. Greenough has written a fairy tale that includes time travel, wizards, giants, a dragon and, of course, a beautiful princess. He includes more than one source of danger and adds a little life lesson to the story, too. His words flow well, the story was interesting and I liked the ending. I won’t tell you about it, you’ll have to read this story yourself to find out what happened at the end.
Alexander manages to keep his head but he’s amazed to find the knight trying to kill him is a wizard and he’s here to transport him to another kingdom to kill the evil wizard. Alexander attempts to explain he has no fighting skills and is not a knight, but the wizard isn’t listening. The “new” earth he visits is in the medieval age and is a lovely place. Well, mostly lovely, if you don’t count the evil wizard’s monsters.
Before he gets to the castle, he acquires a strange pet, meets the princess, and has to fight off monsters. He’d love to steal the red ball of power and go home, but it’s not happening. He has thirty days to learn to fight and kill the evil wizard.
The story has humor, sacrifice, and a goodly amount of self-realization that you don’t have to accept how things are, you can change them. It’s an entertaining story with characters you grow to care about. It’s a novella, so why not get a copy and enjoy a reading treat today?
Thank you for a very nice review of Knight Madigan.
