Tracy works as a bartender at a club; during her breaks she talks to the gargoyle in the club. The first thing that came to mind was: how come no one saw her talking to a statue?
This is a short gargoyle romance novella and part of a series, which I didn’t realize until the end. It’s very well rounded but the story has a “love at first sight” quality that some may not like since the story starts and ends within a day or two. The author tried to show a reader Tracy’s guarded heart, that it really isn’t just love at first sight. Tracy has been hurt before and guards her heart with everything she has. That was something that endeared me at first but with a couple of more pages, I was on the brink of being annoyed with her.
I loved reading about both the characters. I do wish there was more to the story because there are bits and scenes that made this a worthwhile read for me. And I really liked the ending; it made me smile like crazy.
