Thank You, God. For rivers in the desert.
For this man, and this moment,
and for new beginnings, she prayed.

Recently widowed, Frankie Bonetti bought an unloved fixer-upper house that spoke to her heart, asking for a second chance. And Frankie’s heart said yes.

Tracy Johanson also knows the pain of loss on several levels. A genius with woodwork, he’s good at nearly everything except forgiving himself. With Tracy’s head at war with his heart, God is about to step in, and through Frankie, guide him onto a new path, a new future, and a blessed reconciliation with his estranged son in the most destined of ways …

A new and fresh beginning are the words that come to mind after reading Frankie Bonetti and Tracy Johanson’s story. Frankie is making a new start in a new location, new home, a new job and new relationships.

This is a pleasant read that I thought was a joy to read. Frankie is a widow trying to piece her life together. Her spiritual faith is strong and her love for people is even stronger. Frankie may be new in the neighborhood but she makes a home for herself and also happen to make friends very quickly. I like that the author displayed Frankie’s spiritual growth as well as her growth in standing for good and for fairness. Though she was grateful for her job she had to deal with a boss who wasn’t too pleasing.

I like that the author has a strong main character like Frankie who is inspiring to read about. Frankie’s life wasn’t perfect but she has a beautiful spirit of love and caring for others. I enjoyed seeing the building relationship between Frankie and Lilly and I am glad that Frankie and Tracy found love and companionship but I think their relationship moved too fast from friends to loving one another. Frankie’s attraction to Tracy was clear from the beginning but with her being recently widowed I would have liked for there to have been a longer friendship instead of the instant love.

The story contains life events for both Frankie and Tracy. Frankie was dealing with a controlling husband and now adjusting to life after his death.

Tracy is dealing with his son after his wife’s death. Frankie is a strong woman who loves people for who they are. She is considerate and looks to help others. I enjoyed reading Frankie’s story. The characters are wonderful, and for the most part developed and easy to connect to. I also found that the writing was, with a few exceptions, well edited.

I like how the author allows the characters to blossom into the best version of themselves. This is a sweet story that ends with love and happy endings.
