Reviewed by FernCan a little luck help these two men’s feelings ignite during the St. Patrick’s Pub madness?
Since the beginning of his senior year in college, Jimmy has lived above the very popular Irish Pub O’Dwyer’s. Sure, the music is loud and the co-eds constantly party, but the bonus is seeing graduate student Niall come in and out of work on a daily basis. Working separate shifts hasn’t given the two much time to get to know one another. So it’s quite a shock when Niall comes pounding on his door on St. Patrick’s Day asking for help working at the pub on the busiest day of the year. Even though Jimmy just finished with his own shift, being next to Niall for the night is too tempting to resist. Will sparks finally ignite? And will Jimmy find himself having a little luck of the Irish to finally make Niall notice him?

St. Patrick’s day is always crazy at the pub and this year proves to be no exception. A steamy kiss between the two men sets things in motion and a new relationship blossoms between them.
I really enjoyed the pacing of this novella. There was a wonderful, gradual progression between Jimmy and Niall. The chemistry and attraction is there right from the start, but instead of jumping in and going too fast the men get to know each other – with plenty of hot kisses and casual intimacies. I found this really balanced and the story of two people coming together wasn’t over-run by the sex. Character based and realistic, this was refreshing to me.
I’d strongly recommend this as a light, introduction piece to people who are curious or interested in M/M relationships but don’t want any heavy emotion, or campy over the top stories. I thought the author did an awesome job showing a realistic couple becoming attracted to each other and starting a relationship. There’s passion, interest and that lovely, golden “getting to know you” phase. Better still, it finishes on a steamy, erotic completion – and it doesn’t take too much imagination to believe this is the beginning of something wonderful for both Jimmy and Niall. A heart-warming, sexy read.
