I love choose your own adventure stories. In this one, you get to pick your path. Go this way for one adventure…that way for another. In my path, Birdie gets another offer for a private show at the benefactor’s house and chooses to go. She is promised a dinner if she will perform for the reclusive wealthy man. A little afraid, she does it, but in the middle of her act, she discovers something about her new patron that sets her on her ear.

This is a sexy short work of fiction. The writing style is florid and full of description, taking you back to a depression era traveling circus and what life might have been like for a girl in Adelaide’s social standing. Things are not always what they seem and in this tale it is more true than most. I loved the ending—but I won’t say more because I don’t want to give you a spoiler.

Jane Nin is a wonderful writer and I look forward to more of her work. I think Silk Words may be on to something with the CYOA stories. Being able to choose…now that’s what I call sexy.

Romance how you want it…
