“The girls all stared at me in horror— but their knees were clenched together tight, terror on their faces. There was no way they were going to stand up, lift their skirts, and take my place…”The last person Diana expects her carriage to be overtaken by is Daniel—an old school-friend-turned-rogue. When Daniel makes a show of threatening the ladies he does not expect Diana to volunteer to be his plaything for the evening. But Diana is eager to escape her life as a traveling pilgrim and her celibacy vows… and this is her chance…
Diana and Daniel make such a great couple! While this book was super short, and we don’t get to see much of the characters’ personalities, there is still a respect and attraction between the two that is addictive.
Diana and Daniel met in school, and had a short lived fling in high-school which left a lasting impression, and desire, in each of them. I enjoyed the chemistry and respect shown by Daniel toward Diana in this story. Even as a highwayman he is shown to have a moral code.
I’m often picky about romances not having enough characterization or story, but somehow I loved reading this one! I felt it had just enough information and detail without over-doing it. If you are looking for a quick read with a sweet romance, I definitely recommend picking this one up!
