Deana Curtis, a young law-school student vacationing in Manchester, England is shocked to find herself transported back to 1962 after she makes a wish on a golden amulet. There she meets her childhood crush—Tristan Wallace. Armed with the knowledge of Tristan’s bleak future, can she stop the sexy spy/ rock star from mysteriously disappearing?
Tristan wants to believe that the golden-haired pixie is telling the truth, but her story sounds insane. Could she truly be a time traveler who made a wish to help him? As he grows closer to Deana, he not only believes her, but worries that he will be unable protect her from his evil enemy—communist spy, Sascha Pope. ♥ ♥ ♥ Step into a whole different life for one little summer, along with Deana Curtis, lovely star of Marguerite Arotin’s new romance, “One Enchanted Summer.” Deana needs a getaway – but an intrigue meets almost as she steps over the threshold. From the first, the aura of this story is intrigue – will Deana leave the nasty ‘Chad’ behind – and will she get on with her life? And then – the intrigue becomes somewhat deeper. From the first sentences, we find ourselves cheering her on.The sprawling country estate in Manchester, England – Deana’s idea of a perfect English vacation – comes with its own little secrets. Being a fan of long-missing rock singer, Tristan Wallace, whose family once owned the estate, makes Deana feel a special connection to the place and to one family member remaining. And, we can’t help but wonder just what did happen to the once-popular star. Deana isn’t there to solve mysteries though; she plans some time poolside to ease her aching heart. She also wants to think of the beautiful music of Tristan – of fighting for love. Right away, being told he was nothing more than a coward infuriates her. So discovering the real Tristan is a bit of a shock! Floating from place and time in a magical, but almost commonplace way, we can’t help but feel the terrible terror that there is no way to resolve the differences of space and time that come between them. You will hope with all your heart that – but to say more would be to give too much away! Arotin’s “One Enchanted Summer,” is a beautifully written romance with enough elements of mystery, twined with a hint of magic, to keep it unpredictable. |
